Worlds highest EV charging station was opened at Kaza town, which is located in of Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.
The EV charging station was opened on September 23, 2021 in order to promote a sustainable Environment.
It is the worlds highest electric vehicle charging station located at 500 ft.
Along with the EV charging station, two Women drove electric vehicles from Manali to Kaza to promote a clean and green environment.
All the products including chargers of this station are made in India.
India is gaining good momentum in the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. There is a good response for battery-operated small electric vehicles such as e-scooter, e-rickshaws, electric three-wheelers, e-carts, and e-bikes in India. The finance committee of theJal Shakti ministryhas given its approval to the tallest dam on the Yamuna with a proposed height of 204 metres which will come up in Uttarakhand at a cost of Rs 5,747 crore.
The nod to the dam which was first approved in 1976 and work on which was halted in 1992 due to lack of funds has reignited a decades-old debate, with environmentalists again red-flagging the project as a flood risk to Delhi and ecological threat to the Himalayas.
The financial approval to the 300 MW Lakhwar Multipurpose Project, which will straddleDehradunand Tehri districts with its 22 kilometre long reservoir, was given by the ministry. The project is now awaiting final clearance from the .
The multipurpose project will provide drinking water and electricity to six states Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. It will also provide Irrigation on 33,780 hectares. For the project, 90% of the cost is to be spent by the Centre while the remaining 10% will be borne by the states.

Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NGO Vasan to include the families of Primitive Vulnerable Tribal Groups of the State in the mainstream of development by connecting them with a strong livelihood through Jharkhand Millet Mission. The MoU was signed by the Chief Executive Officer Nancy Sahay and the Director of Vasan, Dr. Sabyasachi Das at the State Office of JSLPS at Hehal.
Under this non-financial agreement, Vasan will work to improve the livelihood of PVTGs within the scope of the UDAN project run by JSLPS. To revive the cultivation of honey, work will be done to increase the income of tribal families by connecting them with improved cultivation of honey. After signing the MoU, Sahay said that Jharkhand Millet Mission will be launched, through which the goal of making the State Malnutrition free along with livelihood for tribal families will also be achieved.
Vasan will provide technical assistance from millet production to processing, Marketing etc. This initiative will help in making the PVTG families of the State prosperous by linking them with the means of sustainable livelihood. Sabyasachi Das, Director of Vasan, said that Vasan will help JSLPS in the implementation of Millet Mission in the State and will help in providing marketing and processing facilities from honey production. Through this initiative, the Birhor, Asur, Sabar, Pahariya, Korba, Birjia and Parhiya tribal groups will get direct benefits.
Through this initiative, an increase in the income of PVTG families will also be ensured by establishing a model of through backyard Poultry in 20 blocks of the State.
Under the UDAN project, about 15,000 PVTG families of the state will be linked to the backyard poultry and madua based value chain. Through this initiative, about 15,000 tribal (PVTG) families will be linked with millet production and processing by launching the Jharkhand Millet Mission in the JSLPS state. Along with this, Vasan will also provide technical help for the capacity building of the community, marketing and market system including Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and production. Organic Farming of madua will be encouraged through PVTG families so that they can get good prices for the products.
Bihar ranked the lowest among the large states in ensuring food safety in 2020-21, according to Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) report released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The overall score of the state was 35 whereas Gujarat topped with 75 points.
The third edition of the State Food Safety Index ranked the states on five parameters of food safety, which included human Resources and institutional data (20% weightage), compliance (30%), food testing facility (20%), training and capacity building (10%) and consumer Empowerment (20%). The ranking is an effort of the Union Government to galvanize the states to work towards ensuring safe food for citizens.
The state has secured only 5 points each in human resources and institutional data and food testing facility, 2 in training and capacity building, 11 in compliance and 12 in consumer empowerment. The separate teams of experts for food testing and food & Nutrition professionals, in addition to Fssai officials, conducted the assessment and evaluation in each category. The teams examined the details received and also interacted with the states/UTs through web meetings.
CM gives consent to implement RDS scheme
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel gave in-principle Consent for implementation of the Revamped Distribution Sector (RDS) scheme in the state. He sought additional time for payment of electricity subsidy.
Besides the development of new power under the scheme, action will be taken to upgrade and strengthen the existing infrastructure.
Under the scheme, installation of smart meters for every consumer, except the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture consumers, will be ensured.
The Central government has set December 31 as the deadline for submission of a detailed project report. The estimated cost of the scheme is Rs 9,600 crores, which is targeted to be completed by March 2025.

The 14 reserves which figured in the list included Manas, Kaziranga and Orang in Assam; Sundarbans in West Bengal; Valmiki in Bihar; Dudhwa in Uttar Pradesh; Panna, Kanha and Satpura in Madhya; Pradesh; Pench in Maharashtra; Anamalai and Mudumalai in Nadu; Parambikulam in Kerala; and Bandipur, Karnataka.
Besides 14 in India, only three other sites one each in Nepal, Bhutan and Russia have got the CA|TS tag which is being given through a prescribed process of site registration through external evaluation including verification of evidence.
Globally, the CA|TS is being implemented across 125 sites in seven tiger range countries and 94 of them are in India.
M S University has implemented new e-waste policy under which more than 2,000 electronic equipment will be sold as scrap. All these gadgets are more than 10 years old and are defunt. Electronic equipment include computers, monitors, air-conditioners, photocopiers among others.
The university had formed an E-Waste committee. A team has surveyed all the faculties and institutions check the electronic instruments which are not in working condition. The new scrap policy has been given go ahead by the university’s syndicate as well.
Although the university had been purchasing electronic equipment for so many years, it did not have any policy to get rid of old and outdated equipment.
In a first, anganwadi centres (AWC) have merged with government schools, paving the way for providing pre-school education to children in the 3-5 age group.
RajasthanState Council of Educational Research & Training, Udaipur, is working on the framework for an integrated approach to healthcare, Nutrition and Education. The AWCs role is to provide healthcare and nutrition to pregnant, lactating mothers and children up to 5 years.
Already 12,000 schools have been merged into government schools in the last two years. The remaining 19,000 will be merged in many phases with an aim to provide effective pre-school Learning. Kamlendra SinghRanawat, public relations officer atRSCERT, said they were working on a readiness package for AWC to smoothly integrate them into the school system.
