Green hydrogen policy to come out soon: Punjab minister

In a bid to make Punjab frontrunner in non-conventional energy production across the country, the government will soon come up with green hydrogen policy, said New and Sources Minister Aman Arora here on Wednesday.

Concerted efforts are also being made to increase the share of renewable energy up to 30 per cent by 2030, he said, adding that the goal was to make every energy consumer a producer.

He said around 3,200 MW capacity renewable energy projects, including the 2,000 MW capacity of solar Plants, had been installed, which is about 21 per cent of the total installed capacity in Punjab.

SJVN records highest revenue of Rs 3,299 crore

The SJVN recorded its highest-ever revenue of Rs 3,299 crore during 2022-23. The previous highest (Rs 3,256 crore) was recorded in 2014-15. SJVN chairman Nand Lal Sharma said the revenue this year registered a Growth of 25.67 per cent over the last years figure of Rs 2,626 crore.

He said the SJVN recorded Rs 1,363.45-crore profit after tax in 2022-23, which was 39.48 per cent more than the previous years figure of Rs 977.52 crore. The net worth has increased from Rs 13,128 crore to Rs 13,822 crore, an increase of around Rs 694 crore, he said. The earning per share (EPS) also increased from Rs 2.60 to Rs 3.50 during the period, an increase of 34.61 per cent, he added.

Doon to get country’s 1st Neo Metro, Haridwar Pod taxis

Uttarakhand Metro Rail Corporation(UKMRC) will construct state-of-the-art rapid transit systems inDehradun,Haridwarand Rishikesh within next four years to ease traffic congestion, its MD Jitendra Tyagi said.

The country’sfirst Neo Metrowill start on two corridors in Dehradun. Also, Haridwar will see the country’s first Pod taxi,” he said, adding that the move will give a major boost to Environment-friendly and cost-effective public transport in the state.
Neo Metro is the rubber tyre-based mass transit system that draws power from an overhead electric conductor. It runs on a dedicated elevated track. Provide on Demand (Pod) taxis are driverless electric vehicles that move on a specially designed track.

Ropeways and Pod taxis will be developed in PPP mode, while the Centre and the state will have equal share in theNeo Metroproject, the official said. UKMRC MD Tyagi said the two Neo Metro corridors from ISBT to Gandhi Bagh and FRI to Raipur will cover the breadth and length (22.42 km) of the city.

Farmers behind UPs emergence as economic superpower: Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday credited farmers hard work for the emergence of Uttar Pradesh as an economic superpower in the country and said in the last nine years, the nation had seen farmers and labourers becoming the agenda of a government for the first time.

Presiding over a programme for the payment of 14th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to the farmers, the chief minister said, A total of 2.63 crore farmers have been benefitted by the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in the state and a sum of Rs 55,800 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers in Uttar Pradesh so far.

While highlighting the importance of the event, Chief Minister Yogi asserted, This mega campaign is a grand campaign to pay respect to the farmers. All the organisations associated with this campaign will complete it on a large-scale. This will solve the complaints coming from the farmers and I hope that after June 10, no farmer of UP will complain of being denied the benefits of this scheme.

There was talk about the technique of using those waste products as a fish mill.

25 e-toilets to come up in Bhagalpur civic wards

BhagalpurSmart CityLimited (BSCL) will soon commission smart e-toilets in different municipal wards of Bhagalpur (BMC) under the Smart City Mission (SCM) project.
Officials said installation of e-toilets at public places and creating awareness among the residents to use it is being done to promote the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The e-toilets are self-contained, self-cleaning, user-friendly, unmanned, automated and remotely monitored toilet pods installed in public places, which will operate on insertion of coins.

Australian Institute for Global Health to research in Cgarh

The Chhattisgarh government has signed a MoU with the George Institute for Global Health, Australia, for five years for research on Malnutrition and non-communicable diseases.

Bhim Singh, Director of Health Services, and Prof Anushka Patel, Chief Executive Officer of the George Institute, signed the non-financial agreement, an official statement said on Wednesday.

George Institute will prepare a technical model by researching on malnutrition and non-communicable diseases in Chhattisgarh.

It will be an evidence-based model after field research. It will help in solving diseases caused by these problems.

He inaugurated-bhoomi-pujan of development works worth Rs. 95 crore. He also distributed certificates of Chief Minister Residential Land Rights Scheme, Ladli Laxmi Yojna and Ladli Bahna Yojna.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Ladli Bahna Yojana is a plan to change the lives of sisters. Under the scheme, from June 10 onwards, on the 10th of every month, an amount of one thousand rupees will be deposited in the accounts of the sisters. Self-help groups of women are being empowered under the Livelihood Mission. It is our endeavor that every sister should earn at least Rs. 10,000 in a month. Ladli Bahna Sena is being formed in every village, which will further the work of women’s welfare. You will make your own luck with your own hands. In a small village, 11 members’ and in a big village, 21members’ Ladli Bahna Army will be formed.

Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh outpace Gujarat in milk output value growth

Gujarat has earned the title of themilkcapital of the country for the strides it has made in the organized sector, but neighbouring Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have outpaced Gujarat in terms of the value of milk output over the past decade.
A report compiled by the Union ministry of statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI) which compares the value of milk output of all states over the past decade (2011-12 to 2020-21) says that while the value of milk output in Gujarat rose by 54.8% in the last decade, Rajasthan registered an increase of 129.6% and MP a 120.6% rise.
The report states that Gujarat maintained its fourth position in the country in terms of milk output value. According to the report, Rajasthan ranks first, followed by UP, Maharashtra, Gujarat and MP. The report has used constant prices to compare milk output value.

Raj to set up Maharana Pratap Board to promote legendary warrior’s valour

Chief MinisterAshok Gehlot announced that ‘Veer ShiromaniMaharana Pratap Board’ would be formed to make the young generation aware of the bravery of the 16th-century king of Mewar known for valiantly fighting the Mughals.

“The board will prepare a layout for course material, heritage conservation, innovation, research work in different languages, publicity, national and international Awards, lectures and conferences and create an inspirational ,” saidGehlotat the 483rd birth anniversary celebrations of Maharana Pratap organized by Mewar Kshatriya Mahasabha and the Municipal Corporation at Sukhadia Rangmanch in Udaipur. He also sanctioned Rs 5 crore for various developmental work pertaining to Maharana Pratap’s samadhi, Rajtilak Sthal, and other places and allotment of land near Meera Medpat Girl’s hostel for construction of a hostel. He said work orders have been issued for a Maharana Pratap panorama at Chavand at a cost of Rs 4 crore, for which an announcement was made earlier.
