Plan to link Palampur University tea gardens with tourism

The university tea gardens will soon undergo a transformation with the addition of a cafeteria. This was disclosed by Prof HK Chaudhary, Vice-Chancellor, CSK HP Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture University, here on Thursday.

He said a plan was envisaged to link the university tea gardens with tea tourism, excursions, etc. The Vice-Chancellor visited Orthodox Tea Garden of the Department of Tea Husbandry & Technology and sought details about the ongoing activities like processing of Orthodox Black and Green Tea. Prof Chaudhary said the tea produced in the hill state had been accepted for its high-standard quality and taste by several experts and had got wider acceptability in urban areas of the country.

Compact radars to boost weather forecasting in Uttarakhand

State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) is planning to install compact radars and more automatic weather stations (AWS) along theChar Dhamyatra route to boost the weather forecasting Network in the hills ofUttarakhand.

At present, two x-band doppler radars, installed by IMD, are functional at Mukteshwar and Surkanda, while a third one has been proposed at Lansdowne and is expected to be functional next year.

Centre approves Terai Elephant Reserve in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh is all set to get a new elephant reserve soon, as the Union ministry of forest, Environment and https://exam.pscnotes.com/Climate-change”>Climate Change (MoFECC) has given its nod to the Terai Elephant Reserve (TER), which will be spread in a 3,049 sq km area, including Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) and Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR). It will be the second elephant reserve in UP and India’s 33rd. The decision was taken by Union minister Bhupender Yadav.

TER will be developed in the joint forest areas of Dudhwa and Piliphit Tiger Reserves, covering conservation of four wild species such as tiger, Asian elephant, swamp deer and one-horned rhinoceros in the entire landscape that also includes Kishanpur and Katarniaghat wildlife sanctuaries, said director of ‘Project Elephant‘ in MoEFCC.

Govt providing plants at Rs 5 to Rs 15 to boost horticulture

In a bid to boost in Jharkhand, the State Government is giving saplings to the people from its nursery at the lowest rate. The Department of Forest, Environment and Climate-change”>Climate Change, Jharkhand has issued information that Plants of different species have been kept ready for sale in the departmental nursery. The plants are available from Rs 5 to Rs 15.

In nurseries located in Ranchi, Jamshedpur,Seraikela and Deoghar, people can get normal plants for Rs 5 and big plants and Kalmi trees for Rs 15. The real motive behind selling saplings at cheap rates is also to make people aware of planting trees in and around their homes and making the environment healthy.

Smart meters proving game changer for Bihar, J&K discoms

In the first phase, 10 crore meters are to be replaced in priority areas (high loss, high value consumers) by December 2023. Meters in remaining areas will be replaced by March 2025.

The smart meter scheme aims at strengthening institutional capabilities for modernising discoms, reducing line losses to 12-15% by 2024-25 nationally and bringing the gap between the cost of supply and revenue realised to nil by 2024-25.

Govt starts doorstep delivery of cooked food

Balod in Chhattisgarh has undertaken aninnovative initiative to provide hot cooked meals through ‘Home tiffin service’ to Women who are unable to visit Anganwadis for food.

The initiative has been taken under the government’s ambitious ‘Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana’ launched three years ago.

The move aims to ensure that pregnant and lactating mothers get nutritious food.

The scheme was earlier launched on October 2, 2019 to provide healthy and nutritious meals to malnourished children less than six years old and to anemic women and adolescent girls between 15 and 49 years of age.

Since its inception, 2.10 lakh children and around 1 lakh women have been made anemia-free.

A nutritious diet is extremely important for pregnant and lactating mothers. Lack of nutritious food causes anemia and Malnutrition in mothers and children.

Children will get help in higher education: Chief Minister

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that colours of happiness will be filled in the lives of children who lost their parents due to Covid or other reasons.

While the implemented “Mukhya Mantri Covid-19 Bal Seva Yojna” to provide financial assistance every month to such children below the age of 18 years, many children were not eligible even after getting the benefit of this scheme. Mukhya Mantri Bal Ashirwad Yojana has been started for the care and protection of such children.

Pennar bags NTPC’s 500MW solar project at Bhadla in Rajasthan

Engineering products and solutions providerPennarIndustries Ltd on Thursday said it has bagged an order fromNTPC Limited (NTPC REL) for its proposed 500 MW AC & 625 MW DC solar PV project atBhadlainRajasthan.
The Hyderabad-based company said it had emerged as the lowest bidder in competitive bidding for the tender floated by NTPC REL. The project completion time is 12 and a half months and the scope of the project includes design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning along with a three-year operation and maintenance contract, Pennar added.

According to Pennar, with this win, the company has bagged orders worth Rs 1,167 crore across all its business verticals during the month of September 2022 from players such as Reliance, Tata, NTPC, Thermax and TCI Limited.

Isro to launch 36 satellites in maiden commercial flight

TheIndian Space Research Organisation(Isro) is all set to make its maiden commercial launch of 36 broadband Communication satellites on-board the space agency’s heaviest rocket Launch Vehicle LVM3-M2.

The LVM3-M2 is dubbed as one of the heaviest for its ability to carry satellites weighing up to 8,000 kgs.

The mission is being undertaken as part of the commercial arrangement between NewSpace India Ltd and United Kingdom-basedNetwork Access Associates Ltd(OneWeb Ltd).

The LVM3-M2 mission would give a boost to the space agency’s commercial efforts and mark its entry into the global commercial launch service market.

NewSpace India Ltd, as part of its extended mandate, has at least six commercial missions planned in the next few months, including two GSLV-Mk3 (both for OneWeb) and three PSLV launch missions, and one dedicated satellite mission.
