Budget will be based on vision of modern Haryana, says CM Manohar Lal Khattar

Haryanachief ministerManohar Lal Khattarsaid that this years budget will be prepared and presented while keeping in mind the vision of modern Haryana and the promises made by the government.Khattarholds the charge of finance ministry and he is holding pre-budget meetings with the various stake holders to give final shape to the budget document which shall be presented next month.

CM Khattar said this during his interaction with the leaders andBJPworkers atHaryana Bhawan, New Delhi, on Saturday. The chief minister said that the is committed for the welfare of all sectors and sections, including Education, Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and farmers welfare.

The chief minister said that before preparing the budget, suggestions were invited from people of different sectors. Pre-Budget discussions have also been held with some major departments.

New policy recommends stronger checks on drug trafficking in Himachal

The new drug policy ofHimachal Pradeshhas recommended implementation of the Prevention of Illicit Trafficking in NDPS (PITNDPS), Act No. 46 of 1988, for the detention of identified people in certain cases to check smuggling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The policy said Himachal Pradesh borders withPunjab, Haryana, and Union territory of J&K and smuggling of drugs in and out of the state is a critical drug control problem that needs to be given top priority.

TheHimachal Pradesh Integrated Drug Prevention Policynotified recently said to effectively counter the smuggling problem, the state should make efforts to sensitize and build capacities of its drug law enforcement personnel; establish mechanisms to continuously strengthen inter-state cooperation. It also advocated to set up institutional mechanisms for direct exchange of intelligence between state drug law enforcement agencies and their counterpart agencies in the neighbouring states and the Centre, besides curb the Growth of illegal Internet pharmacies (darknet markets) indulging in smuggling of pharma-based psychoactive and prescription drugs and lay measures to curb import, export, shipment of drugs through air, sea, road, rail, and post/courier Services.

The policy said the State Government should notify a board and detaining authority under this act and sensitize the Police and excise enforcement agencies on its provisions. It further suggests the state to make effort to identify, seize and forfeit properties of such offenders; detain the organizers, financiers, and their agents, who manage things from behind the scenes.

TSF and CII set up career centre to provide jobs

Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) in PARTNERSHIP with Confederation of Indian (CII) has established Model Career Centre (MCC) in Jamshedpur, with an aim to guide/counsel the job seekers to pursue the right career choice and support them to provide better placement opportunities.

This initiative will provide a platform to the Niche group of job seekers who are either unaware of or cannot access other job portals. While the Services of MCC are open to all job seekers, but focus would be reach out to the youth from socially and economically marginalized sections of the Society. On the other, MCC provide the support to the industries for hiring the right talent pool to reduce the skill gap. Although like any other industries, MCC operation has impacted due to pandemic but after constant effort and rigorous process MCC has connected various industries viz. manufacturing, service, hospitality, retails, E-Commerce etc. to place the required workforce from eastern region.

Over the past two years we have mobilised more than 5000 candidates, comprising different qualifications and skill sets, viz- 10th and below, 12th pass, ITI/Polytechnic, Graduates & Post Graduates ( Technical/ Non- technical). Till date, we have successfully placed 300 candidates in the organisations like Tata Electronics, Zomato, Mansi, Five S Digital, Yes Tecno, United Infracore, Automeck, Sodexo, Wow Momos etc. In coming 3 years MCC has vision to reach 30,000 youth for creating better job opportunities and increasing livelihood through EMPLOYMENT led activities with the help of industries workforce requirements from eastern region and pan India as well.

Nitish Kumar says his government is committed to hold caste-wise census in Bihar

BiharCMNitish Kumar said his government was committed to conductcaste-based censusin the state, but he wanted to take Consent of all before taking a formal decision to begin thecaste-wise headcount.

He also hinted that the process for the caste-census in the state could begin after the end of the ongoing assembly polls in five states and the forthcoming Budget session in Bihar.

The CM also said that the caste census would enable the State Government to work for the development of various sections.

Responding to a query regarding the demand for inclusion of Bhojpuri language in the syllabus of primary Education in Bihar, the CM said the states education department would look into the issue. Bhojpuri is the language of not only Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, but it is spoken in many other areas. It has international importance. Whatever happened with Bhojpuri in Jharkhand recently, it was totally wrong, Nitish said.

Aspirational, high-burden districts to get fortified rice

In a bid to eradicate Malnutrition and anemia in aspirational and high-burden districts, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to distribute fortified rice from March.

A statement from the Food Department said the government will distribute fortified rice to the ration card holder beneficiaries in 10 aspirational and two high-burden districts under the .

The entire expenditure will be borne by the State Government.

Annual allocation of rice to ration cards under the state scheme via PDS will be about 3.89 tonnes.

Nearly Rs 28.43 crores will be spent on the fortification of this rice and Rs 11.16 crores will be spent on distribution to the beneficiaries of National Food Security Act. In this way, an amount of Rs 39.59 crores will be spent.

The 10 aspirational districts are Korba, Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, Kanker, Narayanpur, Dantewada, Bijapur, Bastar, Kondagaon and Sukma.

The two high-burden districts are Kabeerdham and Raigarh.

3 national highways in Gujarat may be lined up for monetisation

The government may look to add three highway stretches fromGujaratto theasset monetisation pipelineafter they were handed back to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) after the end of the 15-year concession period.

The Centres target to mop up Rs 45,000 crore from monetisation of highway projects is expected to get a boost during the next financial year as the roads are high toll earners.

The three projects in Gujarat, with a cumulative length of 377 km, can be monetized to generate Rs 18,000 crore to Rs 20,000 crore, the sources estimated.

These were among the first few projects which were bid out by the NHAI under the Build Operate and Transfer (BOT-Toll) model of Public Private PARTNERSHIP (PPP).

National Food Security Act: Proposal on enrolment in Rajasthan cities awaits minister’s nod

The states food and civil supplies department has sent a proposal to food ministerPratap SinghKhachariyawas for approval to allow registration of more beneficiaries under theNational Act(NFSA) in urban areas, where the number of beneficiaries is less compared to rural areas.

A proposal has been sent to the minister with a suggestion to open registration of NFSA beneficiaries with urban areas in the state.

With the ceiling for adding NFSA beneficiaries in the state being 4.46 crore, the State Government can still add 5-6 lakh more.

Prospects of Digital University in India

The Indian government plans to establish a digital university to provide world-class quality Education and promote online Learning in several Indian languages.

The government will also expand the One Class One TV Channel programme under the PM e-Vidya scheme to address the learning loss which has been caused due to the closure of schools because of the pandemic.
