36K acres of Aravallis in 3 districts declared protected forest area

The has declared 36,400 acres of the Aravalli area in Rewari, Gurugram and Nuh districts as protected forest to increase greenery and check non-Forestry activities there.

Sources said around 24,600 acres of the area was located in Nuh, 8,852 acres in Rewari and 2,950 acres in Gurugram district. Earlier, the land was under the gram panchayats concerned and the Forest and Wild Life Department was unable to take direct action against the persons concerned indulging in illegal activities in the area.

As per rules mentioned in the gazette notification of the protected area, no person shall set fire to grass, trees or timber or kindle a fire on such land and cut and remove grass without obtaining a licence from the DFO or his authorised representative.

400 KW solar power projects at cost of Rs 10 crore to be set up in Pangi valley in Himachal Pradesh

Plans are underway to set up twosolar power projectsof 400 KW each in Pangi Sub division ofChamba districtfor which land has been transferred to Himurja, the state-run nodal agency for RENEWABLE ENERGY.
Himurja, has selected one hectare of land for each Solar Power Project at Hillaur and Dharwas of Pangi valley and the agency has initiated further action to complete the projects, which will cost approximately Rs 10 crore. Chief MinisterSukhvinder Singh Sukhuhas instructed Himurja to complete the construction work of both solar power projects at the earliest.

The State Government was taking steps towards reducing carbon emissions by harnessing solar energy. To make Himachal a “Green Energy State” by March 31st, 2026, and in order to achieve this goal, the government has set a target to start 500 MW capacity solar power projects in the fiscal 2023-24.

In Uttarakhand, scanty winter rain & snow hit output of hydropower plants

Due to scanty winter rains and snowfall this year, water level and flow in the state’s rivers that have hydropower Plants have decreased drastically, resulting in lower-than-usual power generation.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) centre in Dehradun, there was a 63% deficit in rainfall during winter (January and February), the months which usually get good rain and snowfall, ensuring a steady water level throughout the summer months in the hills.

Dabral explained that abundant snowfall in the higher reaches in winter is crucial for maintaining the required water flow during summer.

UP govt working to popularise EVs

With an aim to popularise electric vehicles (EVs) in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has entrusted the Urban Development department with the responsibility of setting up of EV charging stations across the state.

As per the provisions of the policy the department has started the process of extending the Comprehensive Electric Mobility Plan (CEMP) to 17 cities with municipal corporations as soon as possible, under the Smart City Mission.

As per the EV policy, land will be made available on lease for a period of 10 years to government entities for setting up charging stations. The revenue sharing model prescribed as per the norms of the Ministry of Power will be the basis for the creation of charging . Lease period, revenue sharing rate and other prescribed parameters will be updated from time to time.

Similarly, land will be provided on lease for a period of 10 years to private entities as well for setting up charging stations through equitable revenue sharing model. The selection of institutions will be made on the basis of the minimum service fee quoted by a firm in tender application forms, which will serve as the bidding parameter so that consumers have to pay the minimum charging fee.

The private entities will be required to follow other guidelines notified by the Ministry of Power and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs from time to time.

Make a better action plan and work on how to maximize the delivery of homeopathic kits. Cgarh develops Krishna Kunjs as urban green cover

Plants in Krishna Kunjs developed by the Chhattisgarh government in urban areas have, after just one year, taken the shape of lush green trees.

An official Communication on Tuesday said that 55,781 saplings have been planted in 169 urban bodies across the state, covering 224 acres of land. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the green mission on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami last year. Dust pollution sensors to be made mandatory at construction sites in Ahmedabad

All construction sites in the city will now be required to install dustpollutionmeasuring sensors that will provide real time data to the civic body for monitoring.

This was necessitated after dust pollution (chiefly PM10 or particles with diameters of 10 micrometres or less) from such sites has given Ahmedabad the dubious distinction of being among the worst six cities in the country on this parameter since 2017-18, according to data provided by the ministry of Environment and forests in the recent Lok Sabha session.

According to the rules, builders have to ensure that water is sprinkled on the site every day, there is proper covering with barricades and temporary roads at the site are paved.
