Solar pumps boost micro-irrigation in Haryana

Haryana has become the second state in the country after Gujarat to promote with the operation of solar water pumps in the promotion of micro-Irrigation under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Utthan Mahabhiyan (PMKUSUM).

There is about 80 lakh acres of cultivable land in the state, out of which 75 per cent area is irrigated. The rest of the land has to depend on rain for irrigation. By installing solar pumps, diesel will be saved for farmers and income will also increase, said the spokesman. The Central and state governments give 75 per cent subsidy on solar pumps and farmers have to spend only 25 per cent of the amount. There was little work done in the field of solar energy in the state and only 492 solar pumps were installed until 2014. The present government prepared a roadmap to promote solar energy in Haryana.

217 sites identified for senior citizens parks in Himachal

The is constructing parks and gardens with facilities for senior citizens in each development block under MGNREGA through the Rural Development Department.

Under the Panchavati scheme, the parks are being developed on at least one bigha of land. These parks are being constructed under the joint efforts of MGNREGA, the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and the 14th Finance Commission. Each park is being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 8. 75 lakh, but the construction cost can be increased depending on the geographical location of the area.

Apart from this, jogging treks, special places for Yoga, meditation classes, toilet facilities and solar lights are also being provided in each park. The Services of the technical wing of the Rural Development Department are being taken for construction in these parks in the rural areas. These parks are being maintained through gram panchayats.

Govt encouraging investors to open mills

In a bid to provide opportunity for the hardworking farmers of the State to get proper price of their produce, on the instructions of Chief Minister, Hemant Soren instructed an initiative to strengthen rice production so that farmers can get fair prices. For this, the work of encouraging investors to open new mills by providing land to rice mills at concessional rates has been started by JIADA.

Recently, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of mills in Palamu, Garhwa, Simdega, Khunti, Gumla, Latehar, West Singhbhum, Dhanbad, Bokaro and Godda. At present 16 rice mills are functioning and 1028 people have got direct EMPLOYMENT.

On the other hand the is working for the level of processing, creation of Infrastructure to increase exports along with farmers income, market space and Empowerment of farmers. The Government aims to connect the producer clusters to the markets through a well-equipped supply chain. At present, Rice Processing Unit- 16, Wheat Processing Unit- 16, Vegetable and Fruit Processing Unit- 4, Milk Processing- 5, Bakery Processing- 9, Other Food Processing– 16, Feed Processing- 11 units are working in the State. With the establishment of these processing units, the State’s economy is getting support and investors are getting encouragement.

The State Government is also ensuring the availability of land for promoting Investment and setting up industries. For this, 1044 acres of land is available for allotment in the industrial area across the State. For allotment of 237 acres out of 4531.99 acres of land in Adityapur, 365.45 acres of land in Ranchi for allotment of 365 acres, Bokaro for allotment of 34 acres in 1604.36 acres of land and 406 acres of land in Santhal Pargana for allotment of 4531.99 acres.

All govt depts told to procure items from e-ManeC portal

Industries department has directed all departments to procure items for office use from the e-portal E-Marketing Network ofChhattisgarh e-ManeC till February 28.
As per officials of industries department, in the past three years, Chhattisgarhs single-window for government departments purchase and order-supply portal had purchased supply items worth Rs 964.94 crore from small and micro industries e-portal through e-ManeC. As per state commerce and Industry department officials, in order to increase the consumption of finished products in the small and micro industries across the state, the e-ManeC portal was launched on November 25, 2019 over centrally-run GeM portal in Chhattisgarh.

Through this portal, products are being purchased according to the need of government departments. In the last three years, materials worth more than Rs 964.94 crore have been purchased by various governmentdepartments.

Nearly 53% women in Madhya Pradesh anaemic but 40% central funds unused

Every second woman of reproductive age inMadhya Pradeshis anaemic, but the has failed to utilise over 40% of the funds allotted to it under the ‘Anaemia Mukt Bharat’ scheme in the last three fiscals.

This shocking data comes from a reply of the Health ministry in Rajya Sabha in the Budget session.

Minister of state (MoS) for health and family welfare, Dr Bharti Pawar, informed the House that 52.9% of pregnant Women aged (15-49) were anaemic in MP. So are over 58% adolescent girls, aged 15-19, according to National Family Health Survey-5 (NFHS) figures, said the MoS.

Anaemia has risen by 5% among adolescent girls in the state, shows a comparison of NFHS-4 and -5 data. “This is a pan-India feature. It is more because of dietary habits, where more carbohydrate-rich foods are consumed along with unhealthy foods.

NFHS-5 figures show only 31% of pregnant women have taken their full course of iron pills.

The government is going to launch a drive to provide iron tablets to non-pregnant women of reproductive age, to be taken once a week, for a year, to curb anaemia.

Gandhinagar-based DAIICT teaching Gujarati to computers

A project helmed by the National Translation Mission (NTM) of Government of India is working on such a scenario, as Gandhinagar-basedDAIICThas got grant of Rs 2 crore from the ministry of electronics & information technology for the period of three years to develop algorithm for Gujarati language. The primary domain for the projects will be e-Governance, Health and law.

Giving a peek into the process of TEACHING computers Gujarati, he said that majority of the AI and machine Learning (ML) projects depend on English. The syntax of English is different from majority of Indian languages the latter is identified as free-form syntax, as its not bound by subject-verb-object formation of English, he said.

Thus, when it comes to Indian languages, the researchers or translators cannot simply lift the available Software, as it may not give desired results. The DAIICT experts said that computerization and need for computers in local languages such as voice-assisted Navigation or translation of any text has created need for developing a unique logic and semantics.

Udaipur ranks third in list of smart cities

With almost 85%smart cityprojects completed,Udaipurnow ranks third in the list of Smart Cities. On Friday, the Centre had issued a ranking of the top 100smart citiesof the country. Last year, the city was ranked fifth. Bhopal and Indore are on first two spots.

Kotais at the eighth position followed by Ajmer (9th) and Jaipur (44th). Officials of the smart city project in Udaipur are confident about bringing the city on top position by mid-March by completing 90% projects. Under the smart city project, Rs 1,221 crore was sanctioned for Udaipur city for completing 93 projects.

So far Rs 920.32 crore had been allotted and 79 projects worth Rs 550 crore have been completed.

With completion of 90% projects, the city will get additional 15 points which will pave way for Udaipur to be on top of the list.

For competing the smart city projects in Udaipur, Rs 500 crore has been contributed by the central government while the has contributed Rs 300 crore. The UIT of Udaipur will be contributing Rs 70 crore and the nagar nigam’s contribution will be Rs 51 crore.

The government has announced a replacement doorstep crop Insurance distribution policy called ”Meri Policy Mere Hath”.

The ”Meri Policy Mere Hath’Hath’ doorstep campaign has been launched to ensure that each farmer is well informed about their land records, policies, and therefore the PMFBY’sPMFBY’s claim and grievance redressal process.

Operation Nanhe Farishte

Under “Operation Nanhe Farishte,” the RAILWAY Protection Force (RPF) has rescued quite 1,000 kids from Railway stations across India within January 2022.

The RPF is entrusted with providing safety to passengers. It saved 1,045 children found alone or abandoned at the railway stations. Out of all, 701 were boys, and 344 were girls.

According to the RPF, many children are kidnapped from railway stations per annum. They’re later exploited and trafficked.

Child Help Desks are currently functional across 132 railway stations within the country.

E.V. Charging stations Announced By Indian Oil
