State’s ESI worker load 5th highest in country

In a startling revelation, a Employees State Insurance Corporation (Esic) worker load in Punjab has come out to be almost 75 per cent more than the national Average.

It was also disclosed that the Centre had received a proposal from the to set up six new ESI hospitals.

The setting up of the hospitals is an ongoing process and was based on the number of insured persons in an area in accordance with the norms of the ESIC.

The state-wise details of the number of beds at hospitals run by ESIC tabled by Teli showed that Punjab had 12,16,430 workers insured under the ESIC for whom there were 300 sanctioned beds in the ESI hospitals, which work out to be 4,055 workers per ESI hospital bed.

This was almost 74.63 per cent more than the national average of 2,322 workers per ESI hospital bed.

Create land bank for projects in Una: Himachal Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri held a meeting with district-level officials to review various developmental works underway in Una district. He directed the District Administration to identify and create a land bank for public development.

Agnihotri directed the officials concerned to prepare a list of encroachments on government land so that steps could be taken to remove these. He said the PWD and the Jal Shakti Department should speed up formulation of detailed project reports.

Must repopulate deserted areas near border in Uttarakhand: CDS

Chief of DEFENCE StaffGeneral Anil Chauhan emphasised the need to repopulate the unoccupied areas near the border in Uttarakhand, saying if repopulation isnt possible, then such areas should be madetourist hubs.

In Uttarakhand, there are vast unoccupied areas which are even far away from the last villages of the state towards the border. We have to see if we can repopulate them and, if, that is prob-lematic, we have to see if we can popularise border tourism there, the CDS said at an event in New Delhi.

All cities in UP to have a dedicated food street

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Culture and Housing departments should coordinate with different development authorities to prepare an action plan for creating a dedicated food street in every city where people may get a wide variety of food belonging to different states and societies.

Referring to the recently held Kashi- Sangamam, the chief minister said that the initiative aimed at bringing people of two diverse cultures together to help them know and understand each other better and unite them. Twelve groups from Tamil Nadu were in Kashi for a month. The groups included students, teachers, religious leaders, artists, handicraftsmen, farmers and labourers. They visited Prayagraj and Ayodhya. This cultural exchange cleared the Tamils misconceptions about Uttar Pradesh and North India which they had formed due to negative propaganda run by some vested interests. It has exposed those propagandists. Every Tamil who came to the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam was overwhelmed by the hospitality of the people of UP< he remarked.

More than 80% people supported liquor ban in Bihar in a survey conducted by CNLU, says prohibition minister

Bihars , excise and registration minister Sunil Kumar on Monday said that more than 80% people, especially Women, who took part in a survey, have supported the state governments decision of liquor ban.

A survey on the impact of prohibition was carried out by theChanakya National Law University. As per the survey report, more than 80% people, especially women, supported the state governments decision to ban liquor.

Cabinet approves new tree plantation scheme

The Chhattisgarh cabinet on Friday approved the commencement of the Mukhyamantri Vriksha Sampada Yojana.

Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel decided that the objective of the new scheme of commercial treeplantation is to improve Environment and boost the income of farmers.

Choubey said a target has been set up to plant 15 crore saplings of clonal Eucalyptus, Tissue Culture teak and bamboo as well as the saplings of other economically beneficial species on nearly 1,80,000 acres over five years.

He said government, semi-government and autonomous institutions of the government, private educational institutions, private trusts, non-government institutions, panchayats and lease land holders who want to do plantation can take advantage of the scheme.

He added that to attract investors in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, development fee has been revised. The Infrastructure Development fee will be brought down from Rs.500 per square metre to Rs.100 per square metre for a plot area of more than 50 acres.

Under a special scheme to renovate school buildings, Rs 780 crore will be spent, he said.

Plots worth Rs 120 cr to be distributed to 10k families

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that January 4 will be written in golden letters for the welfare of the poor. Plots will be provided free of cost to such poor brothers and sisters who do not have a place to live. Under the Mukhya Mantri Bhu-Awasiya Adhikar Yojana, plots worth Rs. 120 crore will be distributed to 10 thousand 500 families of Tikamgarh district on January 4.

Chouhan said this in his address before the meeting of the Council of Ministers. The meeting of the Council of Ministers at the Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Chouhan started with recitation of Vande-Mataram.

Chouhan told that during his stay in Tikamgarh, the people there had told the problem that 50-60 people are forced to live in each house, there is no place to stay at Home. The reason for this problem is that the families have grown but the place of residence has remained the same. Due to POVERTY, extended families do not even have plots or land. As a result, they cannot even get the benefit of the house construction scheme.

Chouhan said that this is a wonderful scheme in itself. Under the scheme, the lease of the land will be in the name of husband and wife. They will not have to pay any premium, they will get the land completely free of cost and along with the plot they will also get the benefits of other schemes. Chouhan said that plots will be made available to such poor brothers and sisters in rural areas in every district.

Chandna launches registration portal
