Haryana to construct dam in Himachal Pradesh for reviving Saraswati

The Haryana Government will construct a dam and a reservoir on 77 acres in Himachal Pradesh near Yamunanagar districts Adi Badri area, which is situated on the border of Himachal Pradesh.

The Haryana Government will spend Rs 215.33 crore on this project and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed by Haryana and Himachal Pradesh Governments in the presence of Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Himachal CM Jai Ram Thakur in Panchkula on January 21.

The dam will get 224 hectare metre water in the rains from Som river, which starts from Himachal Pradesh and falls into the Yamuna river in Yamunanagar. Out of the 224 hectare metre water, 62 hectare metre water will be given to Himachal Pradesh and the rest (162) hectare metre water will be used for the Saraswati river in Haryana throughout the year.

Himachal CM inaugurates Dharamshala Skyway to connect with Mcleodganj

Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated Dharamshala Skyway, a ropeway from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj in Kangra district. This 1.8 kms long ropeway has been constructed by spending an amount of Rs. 207 crore and has connected Dharamshala town with Mcleodganj.

While talking to the mediapersons on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that construction of this ropeway was started in 2018 and has been developed under DFBOT mode as a public private PARTNERSHIP project by Dharamshala Ropeway Limited and Himachal Pradesh Tourism and Civil Aviation Department.

Thakur said that this ropeway would go a long way in solving the traffic problem of Mcleodganj and also prove as an added tourist attraction. This ropeway would carry 1000 persons in one hour in one direction and total time taken by the trolley to reach Mcleodganj from Dharamshala would be five minutes and it has 10 towers and two stations. Mono Cable Detachable Gondolas Technology has been used in this ambitious project, he added.

Agriculture Minister launched Kisan Call Center

With the aim of getting aware of the farmers problems and suggestions of the State, the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Department of the on Wednesday launched “Kisan Call Center”. Agriculture Minister Badal launched “Kisan Call Center” online at Nepal House.

The Minister said that a new technology “BlockChain Technology” has also been inaugurated on the occasion. Through this technology, tracking of seeds can be done, so that farmers can get accurate information about the seeds to be given. The tracking of seeds can be done till the farmers’ field. This technique will bring transparency in the work and its result will be seen in the production, he added.

Govt plans to relax liquor law

Amid allegations of ineffective implementation of the law and recent hooch tragedies inBihar, the State Government is planning to amend the legislation to make it less stringent, a senior official said.

A person who is caught drunk for the first time may not be arrested but let off after payment of a fine on the spot, said the official privy to the matter. A person repeatedly violating the norms of liquor prohibition law would be liable to face a jail term.

An amendment bill is likely to be tabled in the next session of the assembly in February.

Chhattisgarh to set up Employment Mission

To create 12 to 15 lakh new EMPLOYMENT opportunities in the next five years, the government on Saturday decided to form a Chhattisgarh Employment Mission.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will be its Chairman, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain its Vice President while the Chief Executive Officer will be Principal Secretary Alok Shukla, an official Communication said.

In the last three years, many innovative programmes have been started to generate employment in all the districts.

These include Chhattisgarh Herbals, Godhan Nyay Mission, Tea-Coffee Board, giving Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture status to and lac production, rural industrial parks, the Millet Mission and commercial plantation.

Still more opportunities have to be tapped.

Gujarat’s cities more polluted than those in Maharashtra: CSE

Air Pollutionis rapidly becoming a matter of concern in Gujarat and Maharashtra despite their geographical advantages and favorable meteorology, according to a new analysis of regional air pollution levels by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE). Gujarat’s cities are more polluted than those in Maharashtra, the study says.

Vatva and Ankleshwar have the most polluted air in the region with the 2021 Average of PM2.5 at 67 microgram per cubic metre. This is followed by Vapi and Ahmedabad with 2021 annual Averages at 54 microgram per cubic metre and 53 microgram per cubic metre, respectively.

With 102 days of poor and very poor AQI, Ankleshwar in Gujarat has the unhealthiest days in the region, followed by Kalyan with 84 days, Vatva (75 days), and Navi Mumbai (54 days).
Vapi has 48 days of poor and very poor AQI — but its data is missing for 138 days (mainly for the winter months). Bad-air days begin to build up in the cities of the western states during the end of December and persist till the end of January.

The analysis covered 56 continuous ambient air quality monitoring stations (CAAQMS) spread across 15 cities in two states: Maharashtra – one station each in Aurangabad, Kalyan, Nagpur, Nashik and Solapur, two in Chandrapur, four in Navi Mumbai, eight in Pune, and 21 stations in Mumbai; and Gujarat – one station each in Ankleshwar, Nandesari, Vapi and Vatva, four in Gandhinagar, and eight stations in Ahmedabad.

Raj may miss tap connection target this year

The has hinted that the target of 30lakh Functional Household Tap Connections(FHTC) set for the year 2021-22 under theJal Jeevan Mission(JJM) cannot be achieved due to technical reasons like sustainable Resources“>Water Resources, survey of villages, poor finances and delay due to Covid-19.

JJM is a target-basedCentralgovernment programme. The state has also expressed that the programme can be expedited if the Centre increases its share from 50% to 90%.
JJM has set a target of providing tap water connections in 1.01 crore rural households in the state by the end of 2024.

Of the total target of 1.01 crore rural households, 22.40 lakh households have installed FHTC as of January 15. This is 22.08% of the total target.

Azadi Ke Amrit To Golden India Program

Azadi Ke Amrit To Golden India known as Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav se Swarnim Bharat Ke Ore was launched on January 20, 2022, by PM Modi.

Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav means Festival of Independence and Swarnim Bharat ke Ore means towards Golden India.

It marks the beginning of the Brahma kumaris’ year-long celebration of Azadi ke Amrit. 15000 events and 30 campaigns will be held as part of the initiative.

Swachh Bharat consists of a public awareness campaign, a cleanliness drive, and community cleaning programs.

SEBI: Saarthi Mobile App

SEBI launched the Saarthi mobile application, which provides information about security markets, which is useful for investors.

The application explains , how they work, trading and settlement, KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures, market developments, and so on.

The application also includes a mechanism for resolving grievances. Both Hindi and English are used in the application.

It is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. The app will eventually be available in local languages as well.

The number of independent investors entering the market has recently increased. The app was created to assist these individual investors.
