Haryana to host Khelo India Youth Games – 2021 from Nov 21 to Dec 5

The fourth edition of ‘Khelo India Youth Games-2021’ will be held in Panchkula, Ambala, Shahabad, Delhi and Chandigarh from November 21 to December 5, in which various https://exam.pscnotes.com/Sports“>Sports activities under-18 category would be organised.

This decision was taken in the first meeting of the Executive Committee constituted for the Khelo India Youth Games -2021 held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Haryana, Vijai Vardhan at Chandigarh on Tuesday. Satya Narayan Meena, senior director, Khelo India, Sports Authority of India also attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Chief Secretary directed the officers concerned to expedite the work related to development required for organizing these games. Apart from this, all the concerned departments should work in mutual tandem so as to ensure that these games are organized successfully.

The Chief Secretary further directed that the launching ceremony of the Khelo India Games should be organized in compliance with the rules of COVID-19 guidelines.

11.6 lakh farmers have got 24k cr as MSP through wheat procurement

Himachal Pradesh govt deducts salary of its staff to upgrade health infra

To deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, the Himachal Pradesh government has once again decided to deduct the salaries of its employees. According to an order issued by secretary (https://exam.pscnotes.com/Health“>Health), class I and II employees salary for two days would be deducted, while the deduction would be of a day for class III and IV employees. The BJP governments decision has invited criticism from opposition Congress, whose state president Kuldeep Singh Rathore described the move as anti-people and anti-employee.

Himachal Pradesh government has around 1.8 lakh regular employees and 25,779 contractual employees. Last year too, the government deducted one days salary of employees.

Bihar shuts all educational institutions

In the Light of the surge in the COVID-19 cases in the state, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Sunday announced night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am, besides authorising all district and block headquarters to impose Section 144 to restrict crowd movement. The government also decided to keep schools, colleges, other educational institutions, and religious places closed till May 15.

Not over 100 people will be allowed in weddings and for funerals, the number stands at 50. Only 50% of employees will be allowed in IT firms.

No shortage of O2 in Chhattisgarh: Govt

The Chhattisgarh government on Friday said that there is no dearth of Oxygen for patients of Covid-19 and other serious diseases.

Around 386.9 metric tons of oxygen is being produced in the state every day, whereas the need for 5,898 patients with oxygen support is only 110.3 MT.

In Chhattisgarh, 27 pressure swing absorption (PSA) oxygen Generator Plants are generating nearly 177 MT oxygen on a daily basis. Apart from this, 210 MT is produced daily by two manufacturers. Madhya Pradesh has also approached for oxygen from the Bhilai plant.

Madhya Pradesh announces free Covid-19 vaccine for all adults

The Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday announced that all people above the age of 18 years will be offered Covid-19 vaccine free of cost in the state from May 1.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made the announcement in Bhopal.

In current circumstances, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given relief by opening vaccination for all those above 18 years of age from May 1.

On April 19, the Centre had announced that everyone above 18 years of age will be eligible for Covid-19 vaccination from May 1, while private hospitals and states will be able to buy doses from manufacturers.

Gujarat: IFFCO to set up oxygen plant in Kalol

As part of its efforts to contribute to meeting the unprecedented demand of medical Oxygen amid a sharp surge in Covid-19 cases, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Co-operative Limited (IFFCO) has decided to installa plant to manufacture oxygen at its unit located in Kalol, Gandhinagar. The plant is expected to start operation soon.

The plant will have the capacity to produce 200 cubic meter of oxygen per hour. IFFCOs oxygen plant in Kalol will generate medical-grade oxygen. It will be able to fill up 700 D-type (having storage capacity of 46.7 litres) and 300 B-type cylinders (having capacity of 10 litres) every day, IFFCO tweeted on Monday. This plant is currently at erection stage and installation stage.

IFFCO has estimated a total for all the four Plants, including the one in Gujarat, at Rs 30 crore.
