Himachal govt schools to transform into smart schools, says CM

Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that classes 11th and 12th in government schools would be made smart in a phased manner.

Sukhu directed the Education Department to identify schools with good student strength, Internet connectivity and good buildings, to implement this facility efficiently. He said that in the subsequent phases, this facility would be extended to classes 8th to 10th and then classes 7th to 1st.

He said that the is paying special attention to improve the education standards in government schools, particularly in the remote areas of the State so that students studying in these institutions are not deprived of quality education. He said the State Government has laid special emphasis on the Education sector in the current budget. As part of these efforts, library rooms will be established in every Senior Secondary School and 40,000 modern desks will be provided to government schools this year.

The CM said that more than 17,000 primary school teachers will receive tablets to adopt best educational practices in facilitating better education for students. Additionally, the government would also encourage high-achieving students in government educational institutions, he added.

794 beneficiaries get houses under PMAY

Theurban development minister Prem Chand Aggarwalallotted houses to a total of 794 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) of Kanakpur and Kashipur through the online lotterysystem. Aggarwal said that the department is currently working on the construction of 17,304 houses in 21 projects after getting approval from the central government.

He said that various authorities have proposed 3,104 residential units for economically weaker sections (EWS) in five projects while 14,200 houses have been proposed by the housing and development board in a total of 16 projects.

He said that a total of 464 houses have been constructed and made available to the beneficiaries by the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) so far. The board is also working on the construction of 14,200houses for EWS. He said that these schemes were approved by the central government but work on the project got delayed due to legal problems, and it started in March last year.He said that in the said projects, land with housing is being made available to the board by the private developer at the rate of Rs Six lakh per house out of which Rs1.50 lakh are being given as a grant by the central government and Rs one lakh as a grant by the .

UP launches Nand Baba Milk Mission

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched the Nand Baba Milk Mission at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore to increase milk production on the one hand, and, on the other, to give milk producers a fair price for their produce in villages itself.

Under the mission, milk will be formed in villages to promote precision Dairy farming, increase per animal milk productivity and provide a proper market to rural milk producers.

According to the official, steps will also be taken to overcome the shortcomings in terms of lack of required skills in milk processing and precision dairy farming. The availability of processed milk and milk products will be increased at reasonable prices and the participation of the organised sector in milk processing will also be expanded soon, he added.

The milk commissioner and mission director said, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has named the scheme after Nand Baba because he was the worlds biggest cow breeder, milk collector, butter producer and foster father of Lord Shri Krishna. Nand Baba had nine lakh cows and had donated two lakh cows to the people for their livelihood. Keeping all this in mind, it has been named as Nand Baba Milk Mission.

The missions goal is to reach from cow to the customer. Under this, the value chain involves production-collection-processing-consumer. The mission will focus on increasing milk productivity, enlarging milk collection and processing capacity, capacity development and value protection.

Experts urge State Govt to include Millets in MDM

Addressing the media persons former Birsa Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture University Dean Students Welfare, MS Yadav said that Millets is a game changer for nutritional security and climate resilience in Jharkhand which highlights the climate resilient and nutrient rich properties of indigenous and local grains and their ability to address the persistent problem of anaemia and Malnutrition among children in the State.

Culturally, millets have been a staple for Jharkhands indigenous Population, and the inclusion of millet in the Midday Meals is also expected to ensure better price realisation, Equity and Justice for vulnerable tribal farmers.

Jharkhand has been struggling with dismal rates of malnutrition and anaemia with the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5)1, as of 2019-21 revealing that 67.5 per cent of children aged between five months and five years were found to be anaemic. To tackle iron deficiency anaemia in the state, finger milletswhich are local to the state have high iron content (9.8 mg per 100 gm) 2, would help address the issue.

Eight Cgarh hospitals get NQAS certificate

Eight more Health centres of Chhattisgarh were awarded the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificate by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday. A Ministry team inspected the hospitals between April and May. Based on the quality of Services available, it approved the Mazagon Sub Health Centre in Bilaspur district, Dulla in Gariaband, Kalcha in Bastar, Peeprol in Balrampur, Pithampur in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, K Shivprasad Nagar of Surguja, Sasha of Balodabazar and Dakai Health and Wellness Centre in Surguja.Each Health and Wellness Centre was graded with Percentage.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo congratulated the staff of all the hospitals, an official Communication said. Baghel expressed confidence that these hospitals will continue to maintain their excellence and serve the patients. It will also set new benchmarks for other hospitals in the state.

Government hospitals located in remote areas getting National Quality Assurance Standard Certificate is an indication that quality health facilities are reaching all areas in the state.

Gujarat to include health reports in marksheets

TheGujarateducation department will merge academic and Health reports of government school students by incorporating health records into final mark sheets.

In a statement, the Gujarat government highlighted the purpose behind this data integration between the health and Education departments. The aim is to ensure the comprehensive Growth and development of every student, the statement read.

To get more accurate information on students health throughout the year, check-ups will be conducted every three months from this academic year. The final health report will then be included in the mark sheets or report cards, solidifying the integration of health, the statement said.

The launched a month-long check-up campaign under the School Health Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (SHRBSK) programme. Over the next 30 days, over 1 crore students are expected to undergo comprehensive health check-ups.

Through this programme, the state government aims to provide free check-ups and diagnose ailments such as anaemia, Malnutrition, skin diseases, Learning disabilities, developmental delays, and other illnesses. A total of 992 mobile health teams will conduct check-ups for students at state schools, and those diagnosed will receive free treatment at government health institutions. The statement said Gujarat will pioneer the issuance of digital health cards to all students participating in the check-ups, making it the first state to implement such a system.

Efforts should be made by preparing an annual action plan for the goals of the project. By working in the same way, 100 percent plantation can be done in all universities, colleges and schools.

Indian navy outreach programme julley ladakh (hello ladakh)

INDIAN NAVY is conducting Julley Ladakh (Hello Ladakh), an outreach programme to Ladakh to increase awareness about the service in the pristine state and to engage with youth and civil Society there. Towards this a 5000km Motorcycle Expedition was flagged off by VAdm Sanjay Jasjit Singh, Vice Chief of Naval Staff, from the National War Memorial on 15 Jun 23. The Navy had previously made similar effort in the North East that was hugely successful. The Indian Navy had also undertaken theSam No Varunahcar expedition to engage with citizens in all the coastal states.
