Haryana’s Saraswati heritage board to develop 5 riverfronts

The Haryana Saraswati Heritage Development Board has come out with a plan to develop five riverfronts on the Saraswati river.

The proposed riverfronts will be at Pipli and Pehowa in Kurukshetra district, Bilaspur in Yamunanagar district, and on the Panchkula-Yamunanagar highway near Dosarka village, and the Kaithal-Guhla road.

As for the riverfronts at the other four locations, the board has written to Deputy Commissioners of the districts concerned for demarcating the river area.

Punjab waives Rs 590 crore loans of labourers, poor farmers

ThePunjabgovernment on Wednesday announced waiver of Rs 590 crore worth of loans under the farm debt waiver scheme for labourers and the landless farming community.

The Punjab government will pay off loans to the tune of Rs 520 crore of 2,85,325 members of thePrimary Agricultural (PACS), thus ensuring a relief of Rs 20,000 per member,CM Amarinder Singhsaid.

The Congress-led government had formulated a Debt Relief Scheme for Farm Labourers and Landless Farming Members of PACS-2019, which would cover only consumption loans to the members of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies advanced by district central Cooperative banks in Punjab.

Pvt schools: Fee regulation draft Bill arbitrary

Unaided private school managements have questioned the legality of the draft Himachal Pradesh Private Schools (Regulation of Fee and other related matters) Bill-2021. They have dubbed its provisions as arbitrary, which will vest the right of the schools to determine the fee in the government.

The managements said the Bill endangered the autonomy of the institutions and expressed concerns over provisions like suo-motu powers given to the executive to inspect schools even if there is no complaint, and that too, without any notice, seeking approval for the fee hike every year, maintaining only one bank account for transparency and empowering the DC to check the accounts of all private schools every year.

Uttarakhand has 20 warehouses with a combined storage capacity of 1.90 lakh metric tonnes (MT). Informing about the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), he said the fourth phase of the scheme has been launched in the State and under it a total allocation of 61,940 MT rice and 92,910 MT wheat has been made.

Under it three kilogrammes wheat and two kilogrammes rice is being distributed free of cost. The fourth phase of the scheme would continue till November 2021. The PMGKAY was launched by the Central Government to provide relief to poor families during the pandemic of Covid-19.

The GM further informed that 61.94 lakh beneficiaries are being covered under the PMGKAY in Uttarakhand. Singh said the PMGKAY-I remained enforced between April 2020 to June 2020 in the State and under it 27,020 MT rice was distributed.

Similarly in the phase II (July 2020 to November 2020) 1.54 lakh MT grain was distributed. In the III Phase of the scheme, 61,940 MT wheat and rice was given in May and June this year.

On the occasion of the World Population Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the Uttar Pradeshs Population Policy 2021-30, expressing the government’s intention to enact a new law to make the various strategies being adopted to control the population more effective.

In the new population policy, the government has set a target to reduce the birth rate.
The chief minister said that concerns were raised from time to time that the increasing population could be a hindrance in the development. He said this issue was discussed many times over the last four decades but nothing happened.

In the new policy, a target has been set to bring the birth rate to 2.1 per 1,000 population by the year 2026 and to 1.9 per 1,000 by the year 2030. Apart from better management of Nutrition, Education and Health of adolescents in the age group of 11 to 19 years, comprehensive arrangements will also be made for the care of the elderly.

The new policy also includes a proposal to set up health clubs in schools for population stabilisation. Along with this, according to the spirit of the Digital Health Mission, there is a plan to conduct digital tracking of newborns, adolescents and elderly people in the state.

Agriculture Minister Badal said the Government is working fast towards making the farmers of the state prosperous and record agricultural production.

CM trashes law route to curb population

Speical attention needs to be paid to the health and nutrition of women and children, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Wednesday.

He stated this while reviewing the activities of the Women and Child Development Department here.

Baghel said that for Chhattisgarh to be healthy and well-nourished, it is necessary that Anganwadis should develop into empowered centers of Health and Nutrition for women and children.

He called for implementation of the plan to develop 10,000 Anganwadi centers as model centers in the first phase, an official Communication said.

Baghel wanted effective implementation of the Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan as well as close monitoring of the quality of ready-to-eat and distribution system. A discussion was held on filling up of vacant posts of Anganwadi workers and assistants. The meeting was told that 52,474 Anganwadi centers are operating in the state, out of which 3,000 have been developed as model and nursery schools. This year, 10,000 centers are planned to be developed as model centres.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Ladli Laxmi Yojana will be linked with education and employment. This notion has to be established in the society that daughter is not a burden but an old-age support.

Ladlis, registered under Ladli Laxmi Yojana, contribute to the Society by becoming strong, capable, competent and self-dependent; for this, every possible guidance and encouragement will be provided to the Ladli Laxmis for higher Education, Vocational Education, EMPLOYMENT, self-employment etc.

Necessary arrangements will be made under Ladli Laxmi Yojana for economic Empowerment, skill enhancement and making them self-reliant. For this, the scheme will be given a new format.

Chouhan was addressing a meeting organised in Mantralaya on Ladli Laxmi Yojana. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Ashok Shah and other officers were present.

Chouhan said that class wise tracking would be done for the continuation of education of all the girls registered under Ladli Laxmi Yojana. A portal will be developed for the tracking of Ladli Laxmi from admission in class-1 till class 12th. Ladli Laxmis will also be associated with activities like N.C.C., N.S.S. for their Personality development.

The Chief Minister said that after class 12th, necessary guidance and encouragement would be provided for higher education or technical/vocational education according to Ladli Laxmi’s interest, skill and ability. Arrangements for counselling and coaching will also be made for competitive examinations.

Necessary training and skill upgradation opportunities will also be provided to the girls to connect them with startups, small-medium industries and employment in the private sector.

Chouhan said that the scheme will also be linked with Health and Nutrition for all round development of the girl child. Arrangement of other necessary health check-ups including anaemia and availability of nutritious food will be ensured for the beneficiary girl child. Ladli Laxmi’s parents will be encouraged to invest in schemes like Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana run for the welfare of the girl child. It is being considered to provide incentives by the . This will also inculcate the habit of saving in the parents.

Baidyanath to start countrys first commercial LNG, filling station

Makers ofAyurvedicmedicines from the city,Shree Baidyanath, has diversified into liquified natural gas (LNG) sale. The company will be inaugurating the countrys first commercial LNG filling station in the city.

The companys decision was following governments decision to invest Rs10,000 crore in the LNG dispensing stations across the country.

At present, it would start will 12 vehicles, he said. LNG is not only being projected as a cheaper alternative to diesel but rates offered at the Nagpur station will be lower than the current of the fuel elsewhere. This is because the supply of a year has been booked at an advance rate due to which the fuel will be available at Rs 62 a liter as against Rs 72 in the market.
