In Haryana, 28% Covid victims had no serious health issues, shows data

The Percentage of Covid patients having no comorbidities, who died in Haryana since April 1, rose from 11.9 to 27.7. In some districts like Bhiwani, Jhajjar and Sirsa, the percentage was more than 50.

As per the official data, since the outbreak of the pandemic till March 31 this year, 375 people died in the state who didnt have any comorbidities, while there were 2,780 victims who had comorbidities. The share of victims with no serious Health issues was 11.9 per cent.

DBT in Punjab a smooth show, says Food Secretary

The Centre today said the switchover to the direct benefit transfer (DBT) of the MSP in Punjab has been beyond expectations, crediting the smooth change to state and Central governments and their procurement agencies. Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey said of the total DBT of Rs 49,965 crore transferred directly into the accounts of farmers across the country for procurement of wheat this rabi Marketing season, Rs 21,588 has gone to those in Punjab and about Rs 11,784 crore to Haryana.

They (arhtiyas) may be having arrangements withfarmers but what the government is paying to farmers is all going into their accounts.

According to the government data, as of May 9 Punjab procured 128.66 LMT and Haryana 80.76 LMT wheat. So far around 337.95 LMT has been procured, benefitting 34.07 lakh farmers against 28.15 lakh on the same date last year across the country. Haryana and Punjab switched from indirect payment of MSP to DBT after the Centre refused to give them any further concessions.

Religious sect may get nod to sell land gifted by followers

The Himachal Government could allow a religious sect to sell the land gifted by its followers in relaxation of the Himachal Pradesh Ceiling on Land Holdings Act, 1972 as the matter will be considered by the Cabinet tomorrow.

Sources confirmed that the issue of amendment to the Himachal Pradesh Ceiling on Land Holdings Act, 1972 will be dwelt upon by the Cabinet as the agenda has been prepared by the Revenue Department for consideration. The followers of the sect have gifted land in mall chunks at various places which the management wants to dispose of even though the revenue laws do not permit it.

The Himachal Government, in relaxation of the Himachal Pradesh Ceiling on Land Holdings Act, 1972 had in August 2012 brought in a legislation, allowing religious and charitable institutions to own more than 150 bighas land by inserting Section 5 h(i) provision. As such many of the sects possess excess land which has either been purchased or donated by people at various places in Kangra and Shimla.

To help the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with required financial support, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has launched two schemes. One is SHWAS (SIDBI assistance to healthcare sector) and the other is AROG (SIDBI Assistance to MSMEs for recovery & organic growth during COVID-19 pandemic). The schemes have been launched to counter the adverse impact of the second wave of COVID-19.

The schemes are devised under the guidance of the Union Government which facilitates funding for production and Services related to supply of Oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, oximeters and essential drugs.

In the second wave, the massive resurgence of COVID-19 in the country has led to unprecedented burden on Health of the country. The Centre has taken numerous steps to step up supply of oxygen and essential drugs to hospitals. To ensure that, SIDBI has taken the initiatives for helping MSMEs quickly augment their facilities and augmenting capabilities to fight the pandemic.

SIDBI has devised these schemes to help the healthcare service providers in the fight against the pandemic. These schemes envisage 100% funding up to an amount of Rs 2 crore to a MSME unit at an attractive interest rate of 4.50%-6% pa within 48 hours after receipt of all the documents information. Bihar govt encourages people to install indoor plants for fresh oxygen

In an attempt to help those worried about Oxygen scarcity amid the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, the Bihar government on Friday launched a campaign to encourage installation of oxygen-giving indoor Plants.

Calling Arpa river as the pride of Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday laid the foundation of the Arpa Development and Riverbank Augmentation work which is expected to clean up the water body and also develop the area.

The programme was presided over by Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu. Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr Shivkumar Dahariya was a special guest. Baghel said that Sunday’s event was the beginning of a long-awaited development and revival of Arpa river in Bilaspur district.

He said that under the project, a 1.80-km ultra-modern four-lane road will be built from Indira Bridge to Shanichari Rapta on both the shores. This will help smoothen and systemize traffic.

Peripheral drains will be constructed on both sides of the road to prevent contamination of the river water. The waste water of the city will be channeled to a Sewerage Treatment Plant and later the clean water will be released into the river.

Madhya Pradesh Cabinet clears proposal to allocate Rs 104 crore to collectors to fight Covid-19

The approved a proposal to allocate a sum of 104 crore that is an undisclosed amount of Rs 2 crore to each collector for theproper arrangementand management of the pandemic at the ground level in view of the spread of Covid-19 infection.

The proposal was approved by the state cabinet in a virtual meeting under the chairmanship of the chief ministerShivraj SinghChouhan.

This includes arrangement of rehabilitation camps including food and clothing, operation ofmedical camps(quarantine camps), supervision of camps, security of employees deployed in essential works, sanitation expenses etc. for the various works beng undertaken for theprevention of Covid-19and purchase of essential equipments in thefinancial year 2021-22.

Mucormycosis ward in every government hospital: Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani

After a core committee meeting,GujaratCMVijay Rupaniannounced that all -run hospitals would have aseparate wardfor mucormycosis the fungal infection that is getting deadlier for recovered Covid-19 patients.

The government decided to purchase 5,000 injections of Amphotericin B at a cost of Rs 3.12 crore to treat the infection. Across Gujarat, over 100 cases have been reported.
