Haryana set to introduce aerospace and defence policy

In a bid to position Haryana as the country’s leading aerospace and DEFENCE manufacturing hub, the Manohar Lal Khattar Government will soon roll out its aerospace and defence policy which proposes augmentation, setting up of aerospace defence parks, development of freight and air cargo facilities among other initiatives.

The policy aims at attracting an Investment of at least one billion USD (Rs 7400 crore) in next five years in the aerospace and defence sector besides generating direct and indirect EMPLOYMENT opportunities to around 30000 persons in the state.

The State Government, working on finalizing the aerospace and defence (A&D) policy is focusing on seven key aspects including infrastructure augmentation, fiscal incentives to reduce cost of business, Human Capital development, strengthening connectivity, development of MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) facilities, easy availability of land at affordable prices and development of MSMEs willing to shift to A&D sector.

Apart from this, fiscal incentives like SGST reimbursement, employment generation subsidy, reimbursement of stamp duty, electricity duty exemption, land concession, freight subsidy will be offered for certain years for mega projects under A & D sector. For Resources-development”>Human Resources Development, the government has proposed to introduce aerospace specific content in ITIs and Polytechnics and offer research and innovation Scholarship for students, the official said

Several rounds of meetings have been held with concerned Departments and stakeholders to take suggestions for chalking out this policy. The State Government is planning to roll out the policy soon, the official added.

Among other key features of the policy include identification of land at the four minor airstrips by the State Government to impart aviation related activities including manufacturing and assembly of smaller aircraft, part MRO and workshops for rotables, small scale flying training organisations, RPAS (drone) assembly manufacturing research and training (at Narnaul and Karnal, aero adventure or aero Sports activities and sub-base parking of helicopters and smaller aircrafts in the state.

Notably, the State Government is currently developing an integrated aviation hub at Hisar, wherein 7200 acres of land have been earmarked for this purpose. It is proposed to set up a world class MRO as part of Hisar aviation hub and this will be a state-of-the-art facility which will provide full aircraft base maintenance Services and also cater to the maintenance needs of regional and global airline customers.

The organisations have analysed election affidavits of 3,547 candidates and 413 MLAs/MPs fielded during the Vidhan Sabha and Parliament Elections between 2004 and 2019. As per the report, 385 (11%) of the total 3,547 candidates and 69 (17%) of 413 MPs/MLAs declared criminal cases against themselves since 2004. Of these, 223 (6%) candidates and 32 (8%) MPs or MLAs had serious criminal cases against them.

The local unit of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) led jointly by its president Satpal Dhiman and Kangra district president Hoshiar Singh today submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Agriculture Minister in support of the burning problems of farmers.

The BKS lamented that the benefits of government-sponsored welfare schemes for farmers were not reaching the beneficiaries, forcing them to abandon fields.

In the memorandum, the BKS said that abandoned stray cattle were causing enormous losses to farmers and demanded an effective solution to the problem. It also demanded the e-portal facility for the welfare schemes so that farmers could avail of their benefits without hassles.

It also underlined the need to promote , rearing of milch cattle and curbing the menace of illegal mining, which has spoiled agricultural land and underground Resources“>Water Resources in the region. The BKS stated in the memorandum that the farmers, who suffered losses due to natural calamities such as drought, hailstorm, storms and heavy snowfall, should be provided compensation directly in their bank accounts.

Joshimath to be renamed Jyotirmath: Uttarakhand CM Puskhar Singh Dhami

Chief minister Puskhar Singh Dhami announced his governments decision to rename Joshimath, that is considered the gateway to the shrine town of Badrinath, as ‘Jyotirmath’.
The announcement, made at BJPs Vijay Sankalp rally in Nandannagar (earlier called Ghat), is being seen as a move to appease priests and locals, who have for a long time been demanding that the towns name be changed.
Significantly, the had recently renamed Ghat block, also in Chamoli district, to Nandannagar.

Joshimath is the winter seat of the Badrinath deity and houses one of the four maths established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, the other three being at Sringeri, Puri and Dwarka.

46.50 LMT paddy procured from 7 lakh farmers

The Food and Civil Supplies department procured around 46.50 lakh metric tons (LMT) of paddy from over seven lakh farmers in the ongoing Kharif paddy procurement season.

Reviewing the progress of paddy procurement in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure that the farmers got the minimum support price (MSP) for their produce and warned against any slackness on this count.

During a review meeting, the chief minister directed officials to ensure that every farmer got the benefit and utmost transparency was maintained in the procurement process, eliminating middlemen.

PMAY (U) progress work reviewed for better implementation

In an attempt to provide benefits of various schemes to the every people of the State, under the chairmanship of Director, Directorate of Urban Administration, Urban Development and Housing, Vijaya Jadhav an online review meeting was convened on Monday with various municipal bodies, in which the work of progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), DAY-NULM and Mukhyamantri Shramik Yojana was reviewed.

Jadhav expressed displeasure over the pending houses of the fourth component of 2015-16 and 2016-17 under PMAY(U) and not being achieved as per the housing construction target under the component-3 affordable housing project. It was clearly stated by her that the beneficiaries who have received the amount of the house and they have not started the construction work of the house despite getting the installment, the notice of recovery of the loan along with their names should be immediately identified by identifying such people. She said that action should be taken to recover the amount as soon as it is pasted on the notice boards of the municipal bodies. Along with this, instructions were also given to complete the half-completed house at the earliest.

People in 20-39 age group most affected by Covid in Bihar: State health department

People in the age group of 20 to 39 years are the most affected in the third wave ofCovidpandemic.

About 51.9% people who got infected with coronavirus between January 1 and January 10 were in the age group of 20-39 years, as per the Health department data. Around 1.9% infected people were in the age group of 0-9 years, 10% in 10-19, 15.2% in 40-49 and 12.5% in 50-59 age groups. Among the affected, 8.6% were senior citizens.

Altogether 29,149 people have tested positive for Covid in the state in the last 10 days. Of them, 66.9% are men and 33.1% Women.

The mobile application was launched in May last year by CMNitish Kumar, through which the health workers kept track of around 1.5 lakh patients in Home isolation. The ANMs used to monitor the SPO2 and temperature of Covid patients before uploading the data to the health dashboard.

Primary Forest Societies to procure minor millets

The Primary Forest Produce under the Chhattisgarh State Minor Produce Cooperative Federation Ltd will procure the kodo, kutki and ragi (minor Millets) from farmers on support price across the state.

The Cabinet took the decision on February 25, 2021.

Chhattisgarh launched a Millet Mission on September 14, 2021 to make the state a millet hub in the country.

Principal Secretary (Forest and Climate-change”>Climate Change) Manoj Pingua said that earlier, the procurement was limited to Scheduled Areas, mainly tribal blocks.

Kabeerdham, Rajnandgaon and Balod districts are also producing kodo, kutki and ragi. But these areas do not fall under the tribal-dominated areas, he said.

To facilitate the tribal farmers in other districts, the extended benefit of procurement on government support price of the minor millets has been handed over to the Primary Forest Produce Cooperative Society, he added.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the grading of the work of the Panchayats of the state will be done and the Panchayats which are doing good work will be rewarded. A development plan has been prepared for every Panchayat, ‘Smart Villages’ will be made after implementing it.

Chouhan was reviewing the works of Panchayat and Rural Development Department in Mantralaya today. He also inaugurated a ‘Mobile App’ prepared by the department for garbage collection and transportation from village to village.

Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Ramkhelawan Patel, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, CEO Madhya Pradesh Day State Livelihood Mission LM. Belwal and concerned officers were present.

Chouhan said that 127 “Didi Cafes” are being run by self-help groups in the state. These are functioning successfully as refreshment centres. In the coming time, “Didi Cafes” will be opened at places like Vallabh Bhawan, Vindhyachal, Satpura etc.

The Chief Minister said that excellent work is being done in the field of plastic waste disposal in the state. Arrangements have been made to collect plastic waste from village to village, from where the plastic will reach the waste collection centers and from there it will be sold. 28 plastic collection centers are being opened in the state, which will be operated by Women of self-help groups. Waste plastic is being used in the construction of about 9,000 kilometers of roads in the state.

Ordinance to amend land-grabbing laws issued

After a reprimand by theGujarat over large scale misuse of the Gujarat Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act, 2020, the Gujarat government has promulgated an ordinance to amend contentious provisions of the act.
The Gujarat Land Grabbing (Prohibition) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2022 has modified the original provisions of the Act which were affecting tribal rights.

By this crucial amendment now no action will be initiated against any tribal person under the land grabbing act if any such proposal before the concern authority is pending for the allocation of land under theST and Traditional Forest Dwellers Act.
