Majority of contractual employees to be regularised soon: Punjab Cabinet sub-committee

A Punjab Cabinet sub-committee assured employee unions that a majority of contractual employees in the state will be regularised soon, according to an official statement.

The Cabinet sub-committee comprising Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, EMPLOYMENT Generation Minister Aman Arora, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, and Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh met with representatives of various employee unions and associations, it said.

The cabinet sub-committee also assured the unions that the has already started working on framing a policy for outsourced employees to ensure that they can also get benefits such as yearly increments in salary and leaves.

3,793 encroachments identified on govt land across Uttarakhand

Uttarakhandauthorities — as part of the ongoing anti-encroachment drive on government land under the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami — have identified a total 3,793 encroachments across the state, of which it has succeeded in getting 1,288 vacated.

The information was revealed in the data shared by one of the senior officials of the state Home department. It includes figures related to the action taken against encroachers since the start of the drive on April 29 to May 7.
According to the data, before the drive was started under the state home department, only 2,608 encroachments were identified by the authorities which rose to 3,793 after the drive. Of the total encroachments, 1,288 were removed, with 2,505 remaining.

UP govt ties up with IIM-L to promote start-ups

The Uttar Pradesh government has tied up with the Indian Institute Of Management, Lucknow to promote start-ups and groom entrepreneurial skills among rural youth.

The state, in collaboration with IIM-Lucknow, will set up an incubation centre to provide seed capital and nurture fresh business ideas among rural youth.

The state has a vibrant start-up ecosystem with Noida, Ghaziabad and Lucknow accounting for a dominant share of ventures. Prominent UP-based unicorns include Paytm and Pine Labs.

The Yogi Adityanath government has amended the start-up policy to expand incentives to enrich the doing business Climate for new business ideas.

At the same time, the government has increased the targeted number of start-up Centres of Excellence (CoEs) from three to eight. Currently, UP is Home to about 52 government-recognised incubators with more than 7,200 start-ups registered with the Department for Promotion of and Internal Trade (DPIIP).

To further boost start-up infra, the state has formed an angel fund with the target of setting up 10,000 start-ups. The government has been allocating huge funds to strengthen the start-up support mechanism and promote self-EMPLOYMENT among the youth.

State mulls opening Yoga and AYUSH centres in tourist places

The State Health Department has sought help from the Centre in opening and AYUSH centers in the famous tourist places Netarhat and Patratu. A video conferencing meeting was held in the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education, Arun Kumar Singh with the Ministry of AYUSH (Central Government) on Monday.

Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare) gave a proposal related to this. In connection with the approval of the Annual Action Plan of Jharkhand State for the financial year 2023-24, under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Ministry, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, many important things were discussed in this meeting.

Points were also discussed during this, 18 schemes were approved for Jharkhand AYUSH including four new schemes totalling Rs 159.36 crores. Last year also, 50 bedded Ayush Dhanwantri Hospitals in Ranchi and East Singhbhum districts were set up by the Government of India. Approval was also given for five 10 bedded Ayush Dhanwantri Hospitals in Gumla, Palamu, Deoghar, Dumka and Bokaro districts.

According to the ministry, its aim is to take AYUSH medicine to the last person in the rural areas of Jharkhand. For this, there is a target to open a total of 745 Ayush Health and Wellness Centers. Against this, 550 Ayush health and wellness centers have been opened. The remaining AYUSH Health and Wellness Centers will be opened by September, 2023. Till now, Jharkhand has received a total amount of Rs 185.38 crore from the Government of India, out of which utilization certificate for the amount of Rs 141.17 crore has been provided. During the meeting held at RCH Auditorium, Namkum, Ranchi, Campaign Director, National Health Mission Dr. Bhuvanesh Pratap Singh, Project Coordinator of AYUSH, Rajeev Kumar and Director of AYUSH, Dr. Fazlus were also present.

Madhubani painting: From walls to world stage

Silk Samagra scheme to boost farmers income in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh is promoting sericulture to boost the income of farmers. A five-day workshop is being held here for effective implementation of the ‘Silk Samagra’ scheme.

The event has been organized by the Central Silk Board Bangalore and the Silk Division of Gramodyog Department for technical upgrading of silk officers of 14 districts.

Officials said the work of silk expansion was being done on private land of farmers. In 2023-24, farmers are being selected for the implementation of Silk Composite Plan.

Under the scheme, 53.62 lakh advanced species of mulberry Plants are being prepared and will be planted in July-August.

Ladli Bahna Yojana is campaign for women empowerment: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has appealed to the citizens to send one brick each to Salkanpur after performing worship rituals from their homes for the construction of the grand and divine Devi-Lok to be built at Salkanpur in Sehore district. The CM said that the bhoomi-pujan for construction of Devi-Lok will be done on May 31 and a campaign to collect bricks will be launched from May 15. The Chief Minister was addressing the devotees and villagers from Vyas Peeth at Siyagahan village of Budhni Janpad on Wednesday at Shatchandi Mahayagya and Khedapati Shiv Parivar Pratishtha ceremony. Member of Parliament Ramakant Bhargava was also present.

Chouhan undertook a parikrama of the Yagya and received blessings from Mahamandaleshwar Girish Das Ji Maharaj, Janmeya Maharaj and Pragya Didi at the Katha Sthal. The Chief Minister was honoured by wearing him a crown. The CM handed over the worn crown to the organisers and said that whenever poor daughters get married here, they should be presented Bichhori. Describing the crown as the highest honour, Chief Minister promise to maintain the honour and respect of all the people of the village.

Chouhan said that the has implemented several schemes for the Empowerment of Women. He said that the entire panchayat in Siyagahan including the sarpanch is of sisters and it is a miracle of 50 percent reservation for women in local institutions. The CM said that the Ladli Bahna Yojana will also improve the economic condition of the sisters and boost their prestige.

Rajasthan: Chiranjeevi scheme greatest draw with 6.3 lakh registrations

Over 6.3 lakh registrations have been made forChiranjeevi Health Insurance schemeat relief camps across the state in two days.
TheChiranjeeviSwasthya Bima Yojana has become popular among people after its coverage was increased to Rs 25 lakh annually this year. At these camps, people are coming in large numbers to register themselves under the scheme.

Private hospitals too are showing interest in the scheme and hospitals that had signed for de-empanelment as a mark of protest with regard to Right to Health Bill are also providing treatment under the scheme.

About 980 private hospitals have been empanelled under the scheme in state.

Earlier, the State Government had given coverage of Rs 10 lakh per family annually under the scheme, but in the budget announcement 2023-24, the coverage was increased.
