To boost Punjabs economy, the Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Monday announced that he would soon write to the Central Government besides seeking appointment from the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to flag the issue for opening trade with the neighbouring Pakistan.

Citing the huge potential of Amritsar in religious tourism, Channi expressed satisfaction that Punjab has been ranked No. 1 in terms of development in tourism sector. He also lauded the PITEX for its yeomans service in offering a big platform to the businessmen of the state, especially the region and ensuring presence of five countries viz Iran, Egypt, Afghanistan, Turkey and Thailand, in the Expo.

Hamirpur tops good governance index in Himachal Pradesh

Hamirpur has been ranked number one in https://exam.pscnotes.com/good-Governance“>Good Governance among all 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh with Bilaspur and Kullu ranking second and third, respectively.

The ranking has been finalised on the basis of secondary data of 12 districts, with focus on seven themes, 19 subjects and 75 indicators. Himachal is the first state in the country to have started assessing the quality of governance in vital sectors. The District Good Governance Index (HPDGGI) Annual Report-2020, prepared by the Department of Economics and Statistics.

In one of the key areas related to Women and children, Solan tops with a score of 0.709, whereas Kangra is at the bottom (0.461). Una, Sirmaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, Mandi and Kangra districts fall below the state Average of 0.589.

The Percentage of institutional delivery is the highest in Hamirpur (97.6 per cent) and the lowest in Chamba (72 per cent). Kullu, Solan and Una have achieved 100 per cent immunisation of children.

Launching an attack on the Congress party without naming it the PM said that a total of 288 kilometres of National Highways (NH) was constructed in Uttarakhand in a period of seven years of UPA rule and in the last seven years more than 2,000 kilometres of NH was constructed in Uttarakhand.

He added the UPA Government spent a sum of Rs 600 crore in NH construction in Uttarakhand while in the last seven years a sum of Rs 12,000 crore was spent on NH in Uttarakhand. Modi that two years ago only 1.25 lakh households had water connection but under the Jal Jeevan Mission this number has increased to 7.5 lakh.

In a big boost to self-reliance in defence manufacturing in India, an Indo-Russian venture to manufacture over five lakh AK-203 assault rifles will be set up at Korwa in Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh.

The joint Indo-Russian venture has been approved by the Government of India. The proposed project reflects the ever increasing paradigm shift in DEFENCE acquisition from buy (global) to .

The joint venture will provide business opportunities to various Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSMEs) and other defence industries for supply of raw material and components, leading to generation of new EMPLOYMENT opportunities.

The project marks a significant stride towards making Uttar Pradesh a key contributor in the defence manufacturing prowess of India. With this, the much ambitious project of Uttar Pradesh government to establish a Defence Manufacturing Corridor in the state has also come a long way.

The project will be implemented by a special purpose joint venture called Indo-Russian Rifles Private Ltd (IRRPL). It has been created with the erstwhile OFB, now Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) and Munitions India Limited (MIL) of India and Rosoboronexport (RoE) and Kalashnikov of Russia.

Centre and the State Government are once again loggerheads over formation of Tribal Advisory Council in State. The Opposition BJP has been opposing the formation of TAC in the State, with the plea that Constitutional provisions have not been followed in formation of TAC. The issue of TAC was once again raised in Lok Sabha, with Union Tribal Affairs minister Arjun Munda saying that the Jharkhand Government has ignored powers of Governor in formation of TAC. On Monday, Godda BJP MP Nishikant Dubey raised the query on the constitution of TAC in State.

Replying to the query made by Dubey, Union Minister Munda said that he is informing the Jharkhand government that the Tribal Advisory Council should be properly constituted through the Governor. The Union Minister said that the Governor had sought information from the Law Ministry and the Union Tribal Ministry in the manner, in which the TAC was constituted. Later, the Tribal Ministry also sought the opinion of the Law Ministry in this regard.

The Minister also said that the law ministry has said in its suggestion that the Jharkhand government has neglected several powers of Governor in formation of TAC. Those subjects should be sent again to the Governor and it should be ensured through the Governor that that advisory council is properly constituted. Godda MP in Lok Sabha Nishikant Dubey said that the Jharkhand government has done unconstitutional work in the formation of TAC.

On June 4, 2021, the made a new rule of TAC, according to which the role of the Governor in the formation of TAC was abolished. The Chief Minister became the Chairman of the body. The right to approve the appointment of all the members also came to the CM. TAC was formed only with the approval of CM. The appointment of the members was also done by the CM. Earlier; the right to constitute TAC was with the Governor.

Even Governor Ramesh Bais recently had said that he was taking legal opinion on the amended Tribes Advisory Council (TAC) rules, while underlining that the Constitution provides special powers to the Governor concerning Governance in scheduled areas.

Number of ICU beds to be increased in all Bihar hospitals, says health minister

Health minister Mangal Pandey said all medical colleges, district and sub-divisional hospitals in the state have been asked to increase the number of beds in their intensive care units (ICUs) in view of emergence of Omicron, the new variant of Covid.

He said the government has succeeded in making all the hospitals and medical colleges self-dependent as far as Oxygen generation for medical purpose is concerned.

Under Samagra Shiksha in Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha Mission, Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district is undertaking inclusive education to ensure equality in education to differently abled students.

A physiotherapist and a speech therapist are deployed by the Mission for nine blocks in the district to assist the differently abled students in building confidence to get Education in schools like common students.

They visit schools on rotation and education officers monitor their work, a communiqu said

So far, 314 students have benefited from physiotherapists and 364 from speech therapists. Samagra Shiksha, a programme for the school extending from pre-school to Class 12, has been prepared with the broader goal of improving school effectiveness measured in terms of equal opportunities for schooling and equitable Learning outcomes.

SSEL inks MoU with German firm for setting up of 4GW manufacturing unit

Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited (SSEL) that emerged as one of the successful bidders in IREDAs bid invite for manufacturing ‘High Efficiency Solar PV Modules’ as a part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan was issued a Letter of Award on November 11, 2021.

SSEL has achieved yet another key milestone by signing an MoU with Viridis.iQ GmbH, a German engineering and consulting Services firm to assist SSEL in setting up of the 4 GW manufacturing unit for Polysilicon + Ingot-Wafer + Cell + Module in the presence of his excellency P Harish, the Indian Ambassador for India in Germany.

The initiation of this project is planned in a phased manner. In the Early Stage both SSEL and Viridis.iQ GmbH will finalize the conceptual design, devise the business plan to kickstart the project after which Viridis.iQ GmbH will extend the necessary technical/engineering support followed by construction and Operations to start. Post the start of Operations, the project shall be supported by Viridis.iQ GmbH for up to one year to stabilize the Operations.

Jal Jeevan Mission: Centre gives Rs 2,345 crore to Rajasthan govt

The Centre on Tuesday allocated Rs 2,345 crore to the under PM Narendra Modis flagship programmeJal Jeevan Mission(JJM).

The programme is intended to provide tap water connections in rural households in the country including 1.1 lakh households in Rajasthan. The allocation is part of the total allocation of Rs 10,180.50 crore for 2021-22. The allocation in the present financial year is almost four times more than the last financial year. This shows the commitment of the central government in providing tap water connections to all households by 2024, said Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Jal Shakti minister in a statement.

PM To Launch Delhi Dehradun Corridor

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to inaugurate Delhi Dehradun corridor.

Highlights

The PM will also launch several other projects along with the corridor, which will reduce the distance between the two cities from 248 km to 180 km.

The primary purpose of the corridor is to decongest North East Delhi.

The corridor will improve the Mandola Vihar Yojana of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and also the Growth potential of Tronica city.

PM Modi will set the foundation stone for the Delhi Dehradun corridor, which will be built at Rs 8,300 crores.

The project is to be executed in Engineering, Procurement and Construction mode, where the government pays the private developer for constructing roads. And the toll revenue accrues to the government.

The highway is divided into four sections, and Section 1 is to be developed as 6 lanes.

Also, it is divided into two packages where package 1 falls in the Delhi portion, and Package 2 falls in the Uttar Pradesh portion.

The Exercise Ekuverin is a joint military exercise held between India and Maldives. It is held between the armies of India and Maldives.

Ekuverin means Friends in Dhivehi language. It is an Indo Aryan language. It is spoken in India, Lakshadweep and Maldives.

The Exercise is being conducted between India and Maldives since 2008.

In 2019, the exercise was held in Pune, Maharashtra and in 2018, it was held in Maldives.

The exercise focused on enhancing inter operability between the armed forces of India and Maldives.

It also included counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations.

The joint exercise in 2021, also conducted Sports and cultural activities to enhance the bilateral and DEFENCE relations.
