No state-funded varsity in overall top 100 institutes

Rajasthancontinues to perform poorly in the Union Ministry of Educations country-wide overall ranking of top 100 institutes as none of the 28 state-funded universities in the state has made it to the list.

The ranking, known as National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), is exhaustively done in 13 different categories. The list announced on Monday has four institutes fromRajasthan Birla Institute of Technology and Science (25th rank), Malviya National institute of technology 47 (MNIT), Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur (66th) and Banasthali Vidyapith (97th). However, they are either run by the central government or private Education groups.

Significantly, none of the institutes in Rajasthan, either private or those funded by the government, feature in the top research institute category.
The ranking has been made considering several parameters such as research, innovation, teacher-student ratio, perception, graduation outcome, outreach, and inclusivity. It is the most awaited list as students consider taking admission to these institutes based on their ranks.
