Over 2.38 lakh BPL families in Haryana have been registered to be covered under insurance relief scheme amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

An Insurance relief scheme was announced by the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar under which a financial relief of Rs 2 lakh would be provided to the BPL families of those who had lost their lives due to COVID-19 or due to any other untoward incident.

Under this scheme, the families do not have to pay any insurance premium, as the premium of Rs 330 per person will be paid or reimbursed by the .

Around 2593 such BPL patients who were undergoing treatment during this time period have been identified by the Health department and it was found that 24 people have lost their lives due to COVID. The verification of the rest of the beneficiaries is going on and the financial relief to the pending families would soon be given once their verification is done.

In yet another pro-farmers initiative besides promoting e-governance, Punjab on Sunday launched a digi-locker facility for its farmers becoming the first State in the country to do so.

Now, the farmers in Punjab have an option to print or download digital copies of their J-Forms in the State, as the Punjab Mandi Board has made the electronic format of J-Forms available, from the current wheat procurement-2021 season onwards.

With the implementation of this landmark step, if any farmer forgot the registration form at Home or the document gets misplaced or the farmer is waiting for the delivery of the printed copy, they just need to download the app DigiLocker and save their virtual J-Form.

PRIs must provide all help to patients: CM Himachal

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur exhorted elected representatives of Institutions (PRIs) to come forward to help in timely shifting of Covid patients under Home isolation to hospital.

The Chief Minister urged the elected representatives to keep a strict vigil during the current marriage season as it has been found that at many times, the people flout the SoPs issued by the government in this regard. He urged them to motivate people to conduct marriages at homes without people from outside as this would go a long way in helping to check the spread of this pandemic.

Thakur said that the PRIs must also keep a strict check of people coming to the villages from outside so that they could be motivated to remain under home quarantine. He said the representatives must also keep track of the people in home quarantine and effectively coordinate with them for any medical help.

Chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat said that within the next six months, a high tech nursery should be established and work should be expedited for policies on industrial hemp, medicinal cannabis and aroma park.

The CM said that herbal products should be encouraged along with Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and in order to increase the income of farmers. To encourage herbal products, public awareness should be raised while also providing relevant training to people. He said this while reviewing the works of Herbal Research and Development Institute (HRDI) Gopeshwar and Centre for Aromatic Plants (CAP)

The institute has also developed six herbal teas for technical transfer. It is also conducting research and development activity for developing 100 medicinal products.

Only 5% found positive in 69,000 tests in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh

Out of the 69,474 people, who underwent rapid antigen test in rural Uttar Pradesh, 3,551 or a little over 5% were found positive.

The five-day testing campaign, being carried out across the states 97,000 revenue villages, is taking place in the aftermath of the panchayat polls and amid reports of rising Covid-19 cases in villages. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that teams would visit every single Home and check people for symptoms, isolating those who test positive and ensure that they are given medicines.

To prevent thespread of novel coronavirusspread in rural UP, amass testing drivehas been launched in villages. Teams are going to all houses to provide treatment and counsel patients.Door-to-door screeningand testing is being done by monitoring committees.

Rs 2.2 crore beautification push to Tilaiya Dam likely soon

TheKoderma district administrationhas decided to give a facelift to theTilaiya Damto increase its popularity and attract more tourists and has earmarked Rs 2.2 crore for the purpose. The dam, which was the first of four multi-purpose Dams included in the first phase ofDamodar Valley Corporation, is constructed across Barakar River.

In 2017, the Koderma District Administration in association with the state tourist department had introduced a 32-seater double-decker boat and an eight-seater speed boat to draw tourists and improve the lives of boatmen.

Online system to speed up green clearance for entrepreneurs

The Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB) on Saturday announced that the process for environmental clearance sought by entrepreneurs has been simplified with the introduction of the online Consent management and monitoring system.

A BSPCB communique released on Saturday said a Suvidha Kendra set up at the Board headquarters on the Patliputra Industrial Area road will facilitate the filing of applications by entrepreneurs. It will become operational from April 15. Suvidha Kendras have also come up at Muzaffarpur and Barauni.

The communique said the entrepreneurs will be able to file their applications, along with scanned documents, by paying a fee of Rs 1,000.

The online facility aims to remove the delays in the issuance of environmental clearance to entrepreneurs for their projects.

Under the manual system, the delay was often caused by errors made in filling the forms and documents, which delayed the process of issuing clearance certificate, the communique stated.

For environmental clearance from the pollution control authority, a separate set of forms would have to be filled through the online process, coupled with the submission of scanned documents for a fee of Rs 1,000 would be charged.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Kill-corona Campaign-2 is being conducted from village to village and house to house in all rural areas of the State for special fever screening.

The survey teams are reaching out and identifying potential patients on priority especially in areas where the rate of infection is high. 15,308 survey teams have been formed for the Kill-Corona Campaign-2 started from April 24 last. The survey of more than 2 crore 29 lakh 51 thousand 135 people has been completed by the survey teams so far. During the survey, samples of more than 84,148 potential patients have been taken.

Out of 22,811 gram panchayats in the state, 21,584 gram panchayats have pledged to impose Janta corona curfew, which is about 94.62 percent of the total panchayats. All government and private offices except essential Services are operating with a 10 percent presence. The gathering of people is prohibited for organising social, political, cultural, Sports, educational, public events and entertainment activities.

Under the Jeevan Amrit Yojana, 2 lakh 92 thousand 448 people have been benefited by distributing 1 lakh 16 thousand 979 packets of decoction to families since April 8, 2021.

The webinar was delivered by the eminent experts from the eminent scientists from renowned ICAR institutions like Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal and ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal.

Gujarats allocation to health dipping

Although theCentrehas asked the states to increase budgetary spending to provide better Health facilities, theGujarat governmenthas over the past few years reduced its healthcare allocation. The Union governments advice was made under the newNational Health Policy, which was announced in 2017.

TheGujaratgovernments reduction in the healthcare allocation could probably be one of the contributing reasons for the strain the public health is facing in the pandemic.

The Gujarat government reduced the Health sector budget allocation from 5.7% of the total budget in 2016-17 to 5% in 2021-22. The National Health Policy also proposed to increase budget spending of at least 2.5% of the totalGSDP(gross state domestic product) for health Services. But the Gujarat government has spent only about 0.6% so far.
