Meghalaya to gain from PM-DevINE

TheBJP, which is part of the rulingMeghalayaDemocratic Alliance, has said the state would benefit from the recently approved Prime Ministers Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE) scheme entailing full central funding.

Pointing out that the central BJP government has earmarked Rs 6,600 crore under this scheme to be spent in the next four years, state BJP presidentErnest Mawrieexpressed confidence that Meghalaya would be a major beneficiary of this scheme.

The northeastern region has gained focus only afterNarendra Modibecame Prime Minister in 2014, and now with this new scheme, PM-DevINE, the region will experience a fresh bout of development and Growth, Mawrie said and expressed his gratitude to the PM.

Sampark Help Desk, 16 Child-Friendly PSs opened

Minister of State for Home Tusharkanti Behera on Monday inaugurated a Sampark Help Desk and 16 Child Friendly Police stations in hybrid mode from the office of Crime against Women and Children Wing (CAWACW) of the Crime Branch.

Terming the initiative as truly transformative Minister Behera said the step was in tune with the 5T charter of the .

Sampark Help Desk has been initiated with technical collaboration of UNICEF.

The objective of such an initiative is to address the issues of gender violence by providing psychosocial support to the victim of sexual violence who face tremendous trauma post the incident, connecting the victim to various support agencies in the district like DCPU, DSWO, Cwc, Childline, One Stop Centers and district mental Health professionals

TN not against NEP, says Union minister

Unionminister of state for Education SubhasSarkarsaid no state, including Nadu, is against National Education Policy (NEP). No state opposes the policy directly, but only has some observations.

On Tamil Nadus strong opposition to the implementation of NEP and setting up of a committee to formulate the states own education policy, he said, NEP has numerous advantages for students as it is in favour of science, technology and truth. All central universities have started implementing the policy, Sarkar said.

Karnataka signs Rs 2.1 lakh crore of investment agreements on Day 1

TheKarnatakagovernment signed MoUs worth Rs 2.1 lakh crore on the inaugural day of Invest Karnataka, its flagship global investors meet in Bengaluru. Chief minister BasavarajBommaisaid there is a shift in the power balance that puts India at an advantage.

Bommai said the government had approved investments worth Rs 2.8 crore even before the investors meet.

Telangana: Singur project generates highest power in 23 years

With the continuous inflows from upstream toSingur Project, the Hydroelectric project at Singur has shattered all the previous records this year. The project had generated the highest power ever in 2022-23 since it was commissioned 23 years ago in 1998-99.

During the current rainy season, power was generated for a record 86 days at the project. During the year 2010-11, the Hydroelectric project had 25.68 million units, which is the highest ever until Sunday. Since the project was receiving over 2,500 cusecs of water from upstream on Monday evening, TS Genco was operating both units of the Hydroelectric project.

After the completion of the Irrigation project in 1998,TS Gencoinstalled two 7.5 MW hydroelectric power generating units. During the past 23 years, the project had generated more than 20 million units of power only three times. The Singur Hydropower project was connected to feeders at 132KV Substations located at Jogipet and Sadasivapet town.

Andhra Pradesh to implement national registration system

The has decided to join National Generic Documentation Registration System (NGDRS) after the successful implementation of the pilot project in two areas. The new system is expected to ease setting up of new industries.

The Stamps andRegistration Departmentlaunched the pilot project in Kankipadu of NTR district andReniguntain Tirupati district. The state government has shifted the integrated data base of the registration department from Hyderabad to Vijayawada about a year ago with a view to join NGDRS.

The NGDRS transforms the manual registration system to online for all types of transactions, including sale, purchase and transfer of land. People can directly book slot in sub-registrar office and execute documents online.

Goas first open-sea cage fish farm commences operations

Goas first cage culture farm was inaugurated recently at Candolim with the support of the central government.

Fernandes was granted a licence by the department to undertake open sea cage culture at Candolim based on a request submitted to the department. He is also a beneficiary under a centrally-sponsored scheme of the department of fisheries, government of India and the state fisheries department.

Two cages under the All India Network Project on Mariculture of ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Karwar, have been integrated in the project. Technical advisory for cage culture is also provided by ICAR-CMFRI, Karwar.

Haryana to set up district-wise helipad facilities to tackle emergency like situations

Haryana is all set to become the first state in the country to set up district-wise helipad facilities to tackle war and emergency-like situations,Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala said on Saturday.

Chairing a meeting with the officials of the Civil Aviation Department,Chautala said that the possibility of setting up a helipad in the district Police lines should be worked out for ensuring a safe landing facility. With the development of this type of , helicopter landings can be done in war and emergency-like situations.

Besides this, setting up of helipads in the police lines, all arrangements will also be made for the security of these helipads. The information system of the police is very strong, so these helipads can be accurately used in case of any emergency, said the Deputy Chief Minister.

Nearly 23% candidates in Himachal Pradesh face criminal charges

Around 23% of candidates in fray for the November 12 assembly in Himachal Pradesh face criminal cases.

All major parties contesting in Himachal elections have given tickets to 18% to 64% candidates who have declared criminal cases against themselves.

Out of 412 candidates analysed, 201 are from national parties, 67 from state parties, 45 from registered unrecognised parties and 99 are contesting as independents.

Out of the total candidates analysed, 94 have declared criminal cases against themselves. In 2017 assembly elections, out of 338 candidates analysed, 61 (18 per cent) had declared criminal cases against themselves.
