Haryana Government on Tuesday announced a rehabilitation scheme for the voters of the state residing in Faridabads Khori village, where the Supreme Court had refused to stay the demolition of around 10,000 illegally constructed houses. Under the scheme, the eligible residents will get EWS flats with facilities like electricity, water and toilets in Dabua Colony and Bapu Nagar area.

Giving details about the scheme, Commissioner, Faridabad , Garima Mittal said that the Khori slum of Faridabad is not environmentally Sound. Keeping in view this human aspect, a rehabilitation plan has been prepared for the residents of Khori area. A camp will be organized for the persons who want to join the rehabilitation scheme, she said.

She said that three documents have been included in the criteria set for the residents of Lakarpur Khori area of Faridabad that have been included in the rehabilitation scheme. In this, the income of the applicants family should not exceed Rs 3 lakh annually, the name of the head of the family should be registered in the voter list of Badkhal assembly constituency of Haryana as on January 1, 2021.

People included in voter list of National Capital Region of Delhi will not be included in the scheme. In second document, the head of the family should have a Parivar Pehchan Patra issued by the state of Haryana till January 1, 2021. As a third document, any member of the family, male or female, should have an electricity connection issued by the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigams, she said.

Notably, the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had recently announced plans to launch a rehabilitation scheme for Haryana voters only in Khori village. He had said that in total, 1,400 families are Haryana voters in this village.

A tree plantation drive will soon be launched to make Punjab green and clean as a part of the Rs 5,466.82-crore Green Punjab Mission for the current fiscal 2021-22 which was approved recently.

The approval was granted at the meeting of the Steering Committee of Green Punjab Mission, chaired by the Chief Secretary, Vini Mahajan.

The Chief Secretary asked the Forests department to plan free distribution of 25 lakh Plants to the public to involve the people in the mission to increase green cover in the state.

The Chief Secretary also directed the Forests department to create 101 new bagichis (nurseries) after the name of first Sikh Dev ji in urban areas, 128 pavittar van (forest areas) after the name of ninth Sikh master Guru Tegh Bahadur ji on the panchayat and forest lands in the states hinterland, and 12 forest and nature awareness parks during this financial year.

Anurag Thakur fifth from Himachal Pradesh to become Union cabinet minister

Uttarakhand has great potential in the field of organic farming which can be used to double the income of farmers. The Central government has also been emphasising on organic farming using modern tools rather than using chemical fertilisers in agriculture.

Proposals of Rs 1,000 crore for Uttar Pradesh from 32 NRIs

The state has received proposals to the tune of Rs 1,045 crore from 32 NRIs during the past few months.MSMEministerSidharth Nath Singhthat it was the governments efforts during the pandemic which led to these proposals, for projects mainly from Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture, DEFENCE and IT sectors.

On Wednesday, the minister carried out a review of the project monitoring group for NRIs. He said that 116 Indian ambassadors had been contacted and a data base of 3,046 NRIs prepared. The government was in continuous touch with these NRIs for proposals.

Data of potentialNRIinvestors has been received from 16 embassies and high commissions so far. We are expecting data from five countries very soon. UP is working with the foreign ministries of other countries, Singh said.

Awareness key to preventing deaths due to lightning in Jharkhand: Weather experts

During the study it has been found that Jharkhand, being on a plateau and surrounded by water bodies or isolated tall trees in open fields, attract lightning, said weather scientist at Birsa Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture University, Dr Abdul Wadood, who headed a project on identification of lightning sensitive areas in the state. Wadood believes that the most essential part is creating awareness in rural areas.

The project, taken up in 2008 following a lightning strike which killed students in a Namkom school, was monitored by Jharkhand . It was then that lightning sensors were installed at seven places for predicting possible lightning and issuing alerts.

Wadood also pointed out that loads of Minerals can play a role in attracting lightning but no specific study with hydrology or minerology in mind has been conducted yet.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday called for rapid construction of dyke walls in the fractured areas of rivers and rivulets for recharging ground water level.

The structures constructed under the Narva Development Scheme will make water available for Irrigation and for in forest areas, he said.

Baghel was holding a review meeting of the Forest and Climate-change”>Climate Change Department here. He called for plantation of mulberry to increase Kosa (cocoon) production, an official Communication said.

He said construction of water conservation structures are being undertaken under ‘Narva Development Scheme.

Similarly, bamboo plantation in forests should be undertaken using high-quality Tissue Culture Plants, he said.

The Chief Minister said that with developments of gauthans across the state, there is need for green fodder for the whole year. Sections of forests can be developed for fodder by imparting training to forest dwellers and Women self-help groups.
