A dividend of Rs 3.56 crore has been disbursed by Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL) to the Haryana Government for the year 2020-2021.

Chandigarh International Airport Ltd, CEO, Ajay Kumar along with Rakesh Dembla, chief financial officer and Avneet Kaur, company secretary presented the cheque of amount Rs 3.20 crore to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar after deducting TDS from this dividend amount of Rs 3.56 crore.

Significantly, the aviation sector has been hit badly by the COVID-19 pandemic as domestic and international flights were banned. Even after resumption of domestic flights, restrictions were there on the number of passengers, he added.

First Cryptogamic Garden of India Inaugrated in Uttarakhand

With around 50 different species grown, India’s first cryptogamic garden has been inaugurated in the Deoban area of Dehradun in Uttarakhand. The garden is located at the height of 9,000 feet and unfolds over three acres. Located in the district’s Chakrata town, the backyard was inaugurated through social activist Anoop Nautiyal.

Jharkhand government mulls policy to boost industry sector, entrepreneurs seek reforms

While the final draft of the new Jharkhand Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (JIPP) is due to be tabled before the state cabinet for its approval, the stateindustriesdepartment is currently formulating four new sector-specific policies in an attempt to draw investments.

Besides the JIPP, at least four new policies – Jharkhand Industrial Park Policy, Jharkhand Purchase Policy, Jharkhand Auto and Electronic Vehicles Policy and Jharkhand Food Processing Industries Policy are currently being drafted. Apart from that, as many as three policies, which were approved during the tenure of former chief minister Raghubar Das, will be revisited.

Bihar: Railways to start 14 more special passenger trains

Amid a sharp decline in Covid-19 pandemic cases inBihar, railways has decided to start Services of at least 14 more special passenger trains originating from different stations falling under the jurisdiction of theEast Central RAILWAY(ECR) to cope with huge passenger rush during the peak summer. Earlier, railways had extended the services of 36 special passenger trains either till September end or first week of October 2021 to facilitate long distance travel.

Chhattisgarh’s Forest Department has planned extensive sowing of fruit seeds and seed balls in forests and nearby areas on July 11.

A total of 50,000 kg of seeds of fruit bearing trees and 25 lakh seed balls are to be sown in different forest divisions.

Forest Minister Mohammed Akbar announced this on Saturday at a meeting with officials here to review the event.

Under the programme, ber (jujube), jamun (jambul), Bel (wood apple), sitaphal (custard apple), karaunda (gooseberry) and munga (drumsticks) and others will be planted or sprayed or sown through seed ball spreading.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Rakesh Chaturvedi said every forest division has to sow 1,000-3,000 kg of fruit bearing trees and one lakh seed balls.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan decided to conduct a pilot scheme for distribution of fortified rice under the Targeted Public Distribution System of the Government of India in Singrauli district to combat anemia and micronutrient deficiency.

Under this, efforts will be made to cure serious Health problems like anaemia and Malnutrition by fortifying rice with iron, folic acid and vitamin B-12. This scheme will be operational till 2022-23. The rice given to the beneficiaries under the scheme will be distributed by mixing with fortified kernels. Rice will be supplied to the beneficiaries at the rate of Re 1 per kg.

The Council of Ministers decided to implement the Land Purchase With Mutual Consent Policy, 2014 in the Departments and Undertakings as well as Central Government Departments and Undertakings. With this, the speedy implementation of the projects of National Highway Development Authority/RAILWAY will give impetus to the development of the state.

The above policy is, at present, not applicable in the case of Central Government Departments/Undertakings. There is a demand by many departments/undertakings of the Central Government to include them in this policy, in which the National Highway Authority and Railways are the main ones.

The cabinet has reduced the cost of construction of new jail complex in Chhindwara, in the first phase, 815 prison capacity district jail, 20 prison capacity open jail, 49 different categories of houses, including electricity, drinking water facilities, gave approval for revised cost of Rs. 127 crore 8 lakh.

18% of new projects in major cities are coming up in non-TP areas: GujRERA

In an insightful document last week,Gujarats Real Estate Regulatory Authority (GujRERA) office claimed that 18% of all new building projects in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot are forced to come up in areas where there are notownplanning schemes (TP).

In tier-2 and tier-3 Gujarat cities like Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Junagadh and Navasari nearly 60% of newer developments are in non-TP areas. Thenon-TP areaslack planned Network or roads, and amenities.

The non-statutory document has suggested reforms in the existing town planning department and further flags that development demand in Gujarats cities has often outpaced the supply of planned and serviced land provided through TP scheme mechanism. GujRERA had teamed up with department of urban development and urban planning consultants to come up with three non-statutory manuals Town planning schemes, Development plans and Local Area Plans (LAP) and have uploaded them on their website. This is the first time that such an exercise has been carried out in the state.

Among key recommendations, to reduce delays ahead of an intention of TP scheme, are including public consultation process where land owners and beneficiary are consulted before freezing land records with shape, size and ownership boundary. The concept paper has also added a stage for preparation of vision while preparing draft TP scheme. Among other major recommendations are that the State Government appoint an expert review committee (ERC) which shall review and recommend approval of TP schemes submitted to the government at different stages.
