Citizens soon to get the status of FIRs on mobiles in Haryana

In Haryana, complainants need not rush to the Police stations to obtain information or status about a registered FIR as Haryana Police has developed a module to send SMS to citizens’ mobiles when FIR is lodged. With the new system, people will soon obtain the current status of the FIR on their mobile phones from the comfort of their homes. In addition, the name and mobile number of the Investigating Officer will also be communicated to the complainants through SMS.

State Police has developed a module on the Haryana Police website making it possible, O.P. Singh, Director, State Crime Record Bureau, Haryana, said after the 47th meeting of State Empowered Committee chaired by Director General of Police (DGP), P.K. Agrawal.The meeting was also attended by representatives of National Crime Record Bureau, Home Department, Finance Department, NIC and HARTRON along with other senior officers of Haryana Police from Police Headquarters and field units.

Singh said that Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) will be integrated with Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) which will help in recognizing the black spots on the roads in the State. Precautionary measures will be taken to save the precious lives of citizens by putting a tap on unfortunate road accidents across the state.

Thus, farmers of the state also need handholding of the central government and they also deserve to avail the benefits of the scheme. Punjab is predominantly an agrarian state, and around 14 lakh Electric motor pumps and 1.5 lakh diesel pump sets are being used for Irrigation in the state.

Himachal Pradesh tops in drinking water quality: Survey

Himachal has again got the top ranking in the drinking water quality, Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur said.

Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat would present the award on Gandhi Jyanti and Swachh Bharat Diwas at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

During a comprehensive survey of tap functionality, the state had been ranked first in the quality of drinking water service delivery. Last year too, the state had secured the top position in water quality and tap functionality in a similar survey, he said.

The minister said the state was continuously getting the full financial support from the Centre for the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The Centre had made a financial provision of Rs 1,344.94 crore for the state this year and released the second instalment of Rs 336.23 crore on September 30. He said the Centre and had provided Rs 3,820.61 crore under the JJM.

Uttarakhand records worst sex ratio in country at 844; Kerala best at 974

Uttarakhand’s sex ratio (number of females per 1,000 males) at birth was found to be the worst in the country at 844, and Kerala’s the best, at 974, according to the Sample Registration System (SRS) Statistical Report 2020, released by the Registrar General of India (RGI) on September 22.

The report stated that India’s overall sex ratio at birth had gone up by 3 points to 907 in 2018-20 from 904 in (the partly overlapping period of) 2017-19. It was 907 in rural areas and 910 in urban areas.

The ratio is possibly indicative of the number of pre-natal sex determinations and female foeticide cases.

Uttarakhand’s sex ratio, meanwhile, dwindled four points as it had stood at 848 in the last RGI report published for the 2017-2019 period.

U.P Bundelkhand Expressway

It crosses seven districts namely, Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Banda, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Aurraiya, and Etawah. It crosses rivers like Bagen, Ken, Birma, Shyama, Betwa, Chandawal, Yamuna, and Sengar.

Jharkhand sees improvement in girls education in terms of dropout rate, finds Centres data

Jharkhandhas witnessed an improvement in girls Education as far as the dropout rate is concerned, according to the data of the Union ministry of Women and child development (MWCD).

The data said the transition rate the number of girls joining a higher class after being promoted has increased from 83.50% in 2018 to 87.26% in 2022 in classes V and VI. Similarly, the transition rate from Class VIII to IX has increased from 78.7% in 2018 to 79.95% in 2022.

The data was provided during a zonal meet on Aspirational districts The impact on women and children’ organised by the MWCD in collaboration with the Jharkhand government here on Saturday. During the meet, teams fromChhattisgarh,Odishaand Jharkhand presented their reports on women and child development.

No Bihar education institution in top 100 of NIRF

Not a single state-run higher Education institution from Bihar figured among the top 100 in the overall ranking across the country, as per theNational Institutional Ranking Framework(NIRF) under the Union ministry of education this year.
That is more worrisome because the claims to have made the largest allocation of its annual budget to education department. There are more than two dozen universities and 260 constituent colleges under the administrative control of the state having a Population of about 13 crore, but not a single institution is able to compete at the national level.

Universities and colleges are now being motivated to raise the quality of TEACHING and research and get themselves accredited by NAAC to take advantage of various government grants.

CM Baghel announces Siyan Helpline for elderly persons

On the eve of the International Day for Older Persons, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced a Helpline facility for senior citizens to start from November 1, the foundation day of the state.

An official communiqu said the helpline would assist elderly persons whose children are working in other parts of the country or abroad.

Such elderly persons can call the Helpline in case of medical emergency. The administration will provide them necessary care, the communiqu said.

The Chief Minister has told the Chief Secretary to make necessary arrangements for starting the Helpline.

Baghel said it was the government’s moral duty to help such persons who have contributed to nation building.
