Rajasthan earns praise for installing oxygen plants under PM Cares fund

Centre praised Rajasthan for installing all the 51 Oxygen generation Plants allocated to the state under PM Cares fund. For the preparation of third wave of Covid-19, the state is installing around 545 oxygen plants, out of them 51 were allocated by the Centre under PM Cares fund which have now become functional and ready for use.

The Centre had sanctioned pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants under PM Cares fund across the country.

Fast-tracking the oxygen plants was the focus of the Health department in the state as the second wave of Covid-19 had done a lot of damage due to shortage of oxygen.

Since contribution of different government departments and Central agencies was required, a coordinated effort was required for setting up the plants. At some places in remote and rural areas of the state, electricity supply was an issue. For ensuring proper power supply, pillars were erected and power was supplied to the oxygen plants.
