Didi Badigiya scheme bringing smile on farmers faces

The launched Didi Bagiya Yojna in 2021 under MGNREGA intending to prepare farmers of the State as entrepreneurs due to this the Government demanded saplings under the MGNREGA scheme and the State was not able to get enough quality saplings for the plantation.

Under this scheme, the trained farmers of the State got an opportunity to grow saplings and the Government ensured the purchase of saplings through MGNREGA. Once the farmers received training provided by the State Government and were involved in seedling production. Soon after, their produce was immediately acquired by the Government. This instilled a sense of trust among farmers and they started producing Amrapali, Malda, Mallika Mango and other seedlings including Timber Plants like Shisam, Gamhar and Teak.

Michael Ekka along with other farmers of the State was trained in Horticulture and sapling preparation. He has grown more than 8000 saplings of Shisam, Gamhar, Teak and Mango in his nursery through Didi Bagiya Yojna in the year 2021-22. These plants were procured by the Government for the implementation of Birsa Harit Gram Yojna, a scheme run by the State Government. With this, Michael earned an income of Rs 25,000. This was an additional means of livelihood for Michael Ekka through the Didi Bgiya Yojna, which is helping him to meet the needs of his family.

Bihar: Education department releases funds to universities

Chhattisgarh: Landless labourers to get financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually under NYAY scheme

Chhattisgarhis all set to launch aNYAY Yojana a customized version of theCongresspartys much-publicised NYAY scheme for the rural landless Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture labourers by providing a financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year. Congress leaderRahul Gandhiwill launch the scheme by releasing the first instalment to 3.55 lakh beneficiaries at a function in Raipur on February 3.

Titled as ‘Rajiv Gandhi rural landless agri workers NYAY Yojana’, this is the third NYAY scheme of theBhupesh Baghelgovernment. The Congress-ruled state had earlier startedRajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojanafor providing agriculture input subsidy to the farmers and GodhanNYAY Yojana under which the state procures cow dung from cattle rearers at a price of Rs 2 per kg a unique scheme of its kind in the country.

Significantly, 70 per cent of the Population of Chhattisgarh is engaged in agricultural activities. A large number of agricultural labourers do not have their own agricultural land and work as labourers on the land of others to support their families. Hence, to improve the financial condition of the landless labourers in the state, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel announced the implementation ofRajiv Gandhirural landless agri workers NYAY Yojana.

As per revenue department officials, landless agricultural labourers were registered for the scheme from September 1, 2021, to November 30, 2021. Along with this, necessary guidelines were issued by the revenue and Disaster Management department to all the district collectors to identify the beneficiaries and provide them grants on annual basis. According to the information received from the department, so far 3.55 lakh beneficiaries have registered to take advantage of Rajiv Gandhi rural landless agri workers NYAY Yojana.
The eligibility under the scheme will be only for the native residents of Chhattisgarh. Under the rural landless agricultural labour families, families belonging to the including shepherds, carpenters, blacksmiths, cobblers, barbers, washermen and priests, forest produce collectors and other categories are will be upgraded from time to time will for its eligibility. The necessary condition for the beneficiaries of this scheme is that the beneficiary family should not have agricultural land. Land held for residential purposes will not be treated as agricultural land.

First Indian Geo Park In MP

Lamheta, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh will be Home to India’s first geological park.

The park was approved by the Geological Survey of India, which is part of the Ministry of Mines. The park will be built with a Rs 35 crore on a five-acre plot of land.

The geological park will be developed in Lamheta since it is one of the world’s most significant geological locations.

William Henry Sleeman unearthed a Dinosaur fossil in this location in 1928. Lamheta has also been designated as a geo historic monument by UNESCO.

NREGA: Centre raises labour budget for Rajasthan

As the has exceeded its total labour budget of 30 crore for financial year 2021-22, having already generated Rs 34.50 crore persondays underMGNREGA, the Centre has revised the states labour budget to Rs 37.35 crore for the current financial year.

Meanwhile, 4 lakh households have so far completed 100 days of EMPLOYMENT underNREGA. In 2020-21, 12.31 lakh households had completed 100 days of employment in the state. The Average wage rate per day per person has also gone up to Rs 183.26 in the state as against last years Rs 169.51.

Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha and Kaliabor MP Gaurav Gogoi wrote to Union Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to initiate prompt action to ensure immediate commissioning of the pendingwater supply schemes in Guwahatito provide 24×7 piped water supply to city residents.

Four major water projects were started in 2011. While North Guwahati and theCentral Guwahati water supply projectsare funded by JICA, West Guwahati Zone is funded by JNNURM and East Guwahati zone is funded by ADB. Gammon India was awarded the contract to construct the projects.

He said among the four projects, only the West Guwahati Zone has been completed and commissioned on November 30, 2020. But for the other three projects, even after 10 years, over 30% work is yet to be executed, he added.

For the first time in six months, the states Covid test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.93% with 609 new infections reported from the 64,991 samples tested.

Sixteen districts reported a TPR of less than 1%, in eight districts the figure stood above 1% and the TPR was zero in four districts. The positivity rate was 2% and 3% in Khurda and Deogarh respectively.

TheRight of Service Actmakes government officials dealing with the respective services accountable.

According to it, an appeal shall be disposed of by the first appellate authority within 15 days of the receipt of the appeal. The first appellate authority must be in writing communicate the order of first appeal to the applicant and the designated officer as well through post and online portal. The designated officer should provide the service within five working days of the receipt of the order of first appellate authority, it added.

WithCovid-19affecting the overallrevenuein the last financial year, the state government significantly reduced the share offundstoKerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board(KIIFB) for 2021-22, as against the funds sought by it.

As per top government sources, while KIIFB sought Rs 2,400 crore for 2021-22 for fulfilling its project commitments, the has cleared only Rs 1,560 crore till now. It is reliably learnt that the government has not yet taken a call on the remaining Rs 840 crore. The state governments income from motor vehicle tax and petroleum cess in the last financial year was hit due to the pandemic. The obligatory share to KIIFB had to be reduced correspondingly. KIIFB asked for Rs 2,400 crore to meet its expenses but the government has not taken a final call. There are chances that the balance amount may be sanctioned as a loan from the government, sources said.

The KIIFB received Rs 1,921.11 crore, as its share from petroleum cess received by the state till March 31, 2020. As per KIIFBs annual report of 2019-20, the government provided Rs 3,651.74 crore from motor vehicle taxes and Rs 2,634.52 crore as grants. As per KIIFB (Amendment) Act, 2016, government set apart 10% of motor vehicle tax in 2016-17 for KIIFB, increasing it by 10% every year until it reaches 50% in the fifth year. The cess levied on petrol and diesel is also given to KIIFB, before Dec 31 every year and paid on an escrow basis from state treasury to KIIFB accounts automatically. The government channelled Rs 8,207.07 crore to KIIFB under these three heads till March 31, 2020, as per the audit report.

In addition to Rs 2,150 crore raised through masala Bonds at an interest rate of 9.723%, KIIFB availed long-term loans from NABARD (Rs 565 crore at 9.30%), State Bank Of India (Rs 1,000 crore at 9.15%), Indian Bank (Rs 500 crore at 9.15%) and Union Bank Of India (Rs 500 crore at 8.95%).
