APs north America spl rep gets 1-yr extension

The has extended the term ofRathnakar Pandugayalaasspecial representative of APfor North America, by another year.

Rathnakar has been mobilising, financial, technical and human Resources from North America for economic, social, cultural and tourism development of Andhra Pradesh since 2019 with the rank of cabinet minister.

Taking the Services of Rathnakar into consideration, the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had decided to give him extension till October, 2022.

Rathnakar is from Kadapa and resident of Marlborough, Connecticut in USA. He had been serving as director of several IT services firms and is founder of Kadapa Innovations LLC. He played a crucial role in making Jagan Mohan Reddys US visit a success in 2019.

Each dept should adopt one village to fulfil Swayampurna Goa mission: CM Pramod Sawant

Chief minister Pramod Sawant has directed government departments to adopt a village each in pursuance of theSwayampurnaGoamission, and said that each departments head should visit their village at least once a week.

Sawant met the empowered working group that was formed for the Swayampurna Goa mission, and reviewed the achievements of individual stakeholders.
The chief minister said that the department, once it adopts the village, must implement government schemes in that village. He said that officials should go to the people and not the other way round.

Under Swayampurna Goa, Panchayats And Municipalities are supposed to get funds under the 15th and under the funds allocated for the 60th celebration of Goas Liberation. The state, through the scheme, wanted to ensure 100% coverage of water and electricity connections to the people.

The government has roped in the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture department to increase vegetable and agricultural production so that the state does not have to depend on other states for food.

The Nashik Zilla Parishad has decided to link the schools in the rural areas with the local health centres to fulfil the criteria for starting physical classes for students of classes V to VII.The state government has announced starting of physical classes for students of classes V to VII in the rural areas and classes VIII to XII in urban areas. In the rural areas, physical classes for students of VIII to XII have already started to function.

The Health monitoring is limited to any child feeling uneasy in the school. In such a case, the help of local Asha workers will also be taken. The standard operating procedure (SOP) for the schools will be announced once the decision on the same is taken, the officer said.
In the case of starting the schools in the urban areas, the health authorities said the health staff of the primary health centres can be attached to some of the schools but not all.

To inculcate the spirit of dedicating oneself to the service of others, Haryana Government has decided to launch a volunteer programme Samarpan in the state.

The implementation of this Samarpan programme would inculcate a sense of dedication towards the Society and people would come forward to serve the society selflessly.

Punjab to waive pending electricity bills of defaulters having connections up to 2 KW

The Punjab cabinet on Wednesday decided to waive pending electricity bills of all defaulters having connection up to 2 KW.

This will cover 80 per cent electricity consumers in Punjab. Such consumers whose connections have been disconnected would benefit from it.

This will put approximately Rs 1,200 crore burden on the state exchequer and will benefit consumers in rural and urban areas. Committees at tehsil level will be formed to handle such cases and verify the beneficiaries. The policy will apply only to the previous electricity bills that are pending.

GST regime complex, says Himachal Pradesh Veopar Mandal

The Centre has made the GST regime more complicated by bringing in numerous amendments, causing hardships to the trading community, said Sumesh Sharma, president of the HP Veopar Mandal.

He said the government had made 950 amendments to the GST structure in the past four years without taking the traders into confidence. After the amendments the traders were facing confusion. Some of them had been forced to leave their trade as they could not cope with the complex tax system. He added that the government should sensitise the traders before and after making amendments to the GST to make them aware about the new provisions.

The present structure of the GST has not only made trading a complex affair but has also stamped traders as culprits if they are not aware of the amendments made to the tax structure in the past four years,

Uttarakhands first Palmetum- Key Facts

The Uttarakhand Forest Department inaugurated the first Palmetum of the state on September 26, 2021. It has been developed in Haldwani area of Nainital district.

This Palmetum is the biggest one in North India, comprising of 110 species of palms.

It has been established in an area of three acres.

It was developed in over three years under the CAMPA scheme at a cost of16 lakh.

It was inaugurated by Prof Lalit Tiwari, a professor of Botany from Kumaon University.

This Palmetum was inaugurated with the aim promoting conservation & research and creating awareness regarding the importance and ecological role of various palm species.

Palmetum comprises of 4 critically endangered species of Palm, 2 endangered species, 2 vulnerable species and 6 near threatened species as per categorization. It also comprises of one threatened species, as per Uttarakhand Biodiversity Board. As per Indian Biodiversity Portal, one species is rare.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch Women Entrepreneurs Empowerment Helpline at Lok Bhawan under the ongoing Vikas Utsav programme organised by the state government on Wednesday.

Along with this, development training to 75,000 Women will also start on this occasion and free cooking gas connections will also be distributed to women under Ujjwala 2.0.

He said that the chief minister would launch Women Entrepreneur Empowerment Helpline number 1800 2012 6844 in the programme.

Women entrepreneurs will be able to get all information related to MSME and the possibilities of self-EMPLOYMENT and entrepreneurship through this helpline number.

Through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, not only people are being given houses, but efforts are also being made to empower the poor and deprived families by giving benefits of various schemes of the government, said by Director, Directorate of Urban Development, Vijaya Jadhav, , in a dialogue programme on housing here on Tuesday.

Jadhav said that before the Amrit Mahotsav organised to commemorate 75 years of independence, one has to directly communicate with the beneficiaries about the implementation of various schemes of the government and be aware of their views. Along with this, they have to be linked with welfare schemes. She said that Women are also being provided co-ownership under PM Awas Yojana, so that they can be given their due. Giving information about the objective of the Samvad programme on Awas, she said that the objective of the programme is to provide a platform to such people, who are underprivileged and who are playing their role indirectly in the PM scheme.

Giving information about the urban housing scheme, she said that it has a total of four components. Of them, three components are being worked on in the State. So far 1.57 lakh houses have been sanctioned. Out of this, 77,000 houses have been completed. The construction of 50,000 houses is going on at a fast pace. She said that 46,000 landless people have been given houses. And, the government has identified the slum area and approval has been given for 15, 817 houses in such areas.

Bihar govt gets cold chain equipment to fight Covid

In a symbolic handover, the on Monday received the first tranche of the cold chain equipment (CCE) procured by UNICEF as part of the Government of Japan assistance to the Covid-19 vaccination drive across India. The first tranche comprises around 20,000 vaccine carriers.

Health minister Mangal Pandey received these vaccine carriers from UNICEF India deputy representative Yasumasa Kimura. The state government is committed to fighting Covid-19 and making all efforts to meet the target of six crore vaccination in six months. The CCE will augment the states vaccination capacity, Pandey said.

Bihargovernment will receive one lakh freeze-free vaccine carriers, two walk-in coolers, three walk-in freezers, 20 cold chain equipment repair and maintenance toolkits and 2100 freeze tags (a vaccine-freeze prevention monitoring device) as part of the overall US$9.3 million assistance announced by the Government of Japan to support Indias response toCovidpandemic.
