Ayushman Bharat for families with income up to 1.8L: Haryana CM Khattar

The Haryana Government has decided to extend the benefits of Ayushman Bharat to all those families whose annual family income is less than Rs 1.80 lakh and to those who are not included in Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) data.

The process of registration of all such families having verified income has been started. Three phases of income verification have already been done. Now the data of these verified families would be uploaded on the Ayushmaan Bharat portal so that they can get their cards, said

Khattar.

The CM said under the Parivar Pehchan Patra, there were around 23,000 eligible old-age pension beneficiaries who had not availed

the benefits.

Chamba, in Himachal Pradesh, has become the 100th ‘Har Ghar Jal’ district, the fifth aspirational district to be covered under the initiative.

The other four Har Ghar Jal Aspirational districts are Bhadradri Kothgudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpalli, Komram Bheem Asifabad (all in ),

and Mewat in Haryana.

To translate Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of providing clean water to each range in the country by 2024, during a short span of two and half years and despite COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown disruptions, Jal Jeevan Mission, has provided water supply to quite 5.78 Crore rural households. As a result, today, 100 districts enjoy unpolluted water supply advantages.

Jal Jeevan Mission is on target to fulfill the Government’s resolve to supply water to each rural household by 2024.

Jharkhand: Hemant cabinet withdraws subsidy on power tariff

In a major blow to the middle class, the on Thursday decided to withdraw the subsidy offered on grid power to various categories of power consumers who use 400 plus units ofelectricityper month. The decision was taken by the cabinet during its meeting on Thursday in which 35 proposals were approved. However, the new subsidy till 400 units was not specified.

Until now, the energy department offered different slabs of subsidy to urban domestic consumers which was approved by the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC). At present, the tariff order of 2019-20 is in force and the rate has been fixed at Rs 5.50 per unit (for urban domestic consumers). The department has been offering a subsidy of Rs 3.25 for 200 units per month, Rs 1.50 per unit for consumers who used 201-500 units per month and a subsidy of Rs 1.25 per unit to consumers using between 501 to 800 units.

Moreover, 50 paisa subsidy was given to consumers using more than 800 units per month. With this decision, the department targets to save around Rs 210 crore annually. The decision assumes significance in the wake of a new solar power policy approved by the council of ministers aimed at promoting solar power in the state. Under the new policy, the state targets to instal 4,000MW solar power Plants in the next five years and various subsidies and incentives have been offered to the consumers.

Moreover, the government has promised to give free land and offered 100% exemption on stamp duty for the upcoming solar park. At the individual level,

rooftop grid-connected solar power plants will be provided different subsidies up to 80%.

The cabinet also approved a proposal for two bills to be tabled during the budget session beginning Friday.

CG to conduct 4 lakh cataract operations by 2025

has set a target to reduce the cases of blindness by conducting a total of 4 lakh cataract operations by the year 2025.

Under the blindness control program in the state, to attain the target of 4 lakh cataract operations by the year 2025, a list of visually impaired patients is being prepared by Health workers, mitanins and Anganwadi workers. Marking is being done for cataract operation after confirming the patients from the list prepared by sending them to the selected development blocks through eye assistant officers.

As per state health officials, in the current financial year 2021-22, a total 59,793 cataract patients have been successfully operated from April 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022 in the state.
Cataract surgeries are being performed in all government medical colleges, district hospitals and Supela Civil Hospital in Durg district, Bhatapara Civil Hospital in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district and Pathalgaon Civil Hospital in Jashpur district and community health centers of Koriya district, Manendragarh,Sonhatand Patan.

Madhya Pradesh assembly without deputy Speaker for 2 years

Gujarat government likely to scrap Class X board exams by next year

Beginning as early as the next academic year, the Class X board examination could be done away with in the state. TheGujaratgovernment has initiated an exercise to adopt theNational Education Policy(NEP) 2020 which recommends doing away with the Class X board examination system with the rationale of reducing the burden of board examinations that students face in X and XII standards.

Although the implications of this exercise are huge – and involves engagement with a wide range of stakeholders who will get impacted, sources in the government said that beingPM Narendra Modi‘s Home state, Gujarat aims to take the lead in implementing recommendations of the NE.

Instead of the existing 10 + 2 system (10 years of secondary and two years of higher secondary), the new NEP envisages a 5 + 3 + 3 + 3 structure. According to NEP 2020, the first five years will be considered foundational and will include class nursery to class 2. The next three years class 3 to 5 will be preparatory, the next three years class 6 to 8 will

be middle and the last four classes 9th to 12th will be secondary.

The NEP recommends that children who are minimum of 4 years old should be admitted to nursery class. This will mean that students who appear for class XII examination will be 18 years old.

Speaking at the launch of the state-level programme of Meri Policy, Mere Haath campaign by distributing the policies of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to farmers at PantKrishi Bhawanhere on Saturday, the minister said farmers sometimes have to suffer crop losses due to natural calamities like unseasonal rains, hailstorms and locusts. To provide relief in such critical times, crop insurance scheme is a better option.

Due to continuous publicity by the and timely payment of insurance claims to farmers, the popularity of this scheme has been increasing in the state. He said in the last three years, insurance claims worth about Rs 14,500 crore have been distributed to more than a crore farmers, he added.

Assam: GIS mapping to find closer exam center

The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has launched GIS mapping of schools and examination centres to minimise travel distance for students.

Students would be allocated centres closer to their schools based on the mapping. Students in hilly terrains and the riverine belt of Assam have been facing difficulties commuting long distances to reach centres for their board examination.

All 1,784 institutions affiliated to it, including higher secondary schools, degree colleges and erstwhile junior colleges (now known as senior secondary schools), have been asked to complete geo-tagging at the earliest.

Odisha 3rd in Omicron XBB virus

International research body GISIAD, which has been monitoring the changes in the Covid-19 virus, has confirmed 380 cases of the XBB sub-variant of the Omicron variant in nine States in India.

While Nadu has reported 175 XBB cases, West Bengal has 103 cases followed by Odisha with 35. The other States having the XBB virus are Maharashtra with 21, Delhi 18, Puducherry 16, Karnataka 9, Gujarat 2 and Rajasthan 1.

According to reports, the XBB sub-variant is fast emerging as the dominant one in the country.
