Bihar: Campaign launched to minimise dropouts in schools

Theeducationdepartment launched a fortnight-long state-level “Praveshotsava” (enrolment festival) in a big way. The campaign is aimed at ensuring 100% enrolment of boys and girls passing Class VIII examination into Class IX of their respective schools.

The minister said Education department officials would accompany the education rath and there would also be some cultural artists who will attract students towards schools by

motivating their guardians.

appealed to the officials to organise the enrolment festival sincerely from July to 15 so that not a single student who has passed Class VIII examination this year is dropped.

Chhattisgarhia Olympics revives traditional games

The Chhattisgarhia Olympics now underway is reviving traditional games among the people. Two of its six legs are over and the final stage will be held in Raipur on January 6.

The government

is committed to conserving and protecting the tradition and culture of Chhattisgarh, it said.

It is also striving to preserve traditional games like kancha, bhawra, kabaddi, kho-kho, langdi race, 100 m. race, chair race, pitthul, gedi race, billas , gilli danda and long jump.

Dream of housing for all is being realized in MP

Madhya Pradesh is one of the leading states of the country in the construction of Pradhan Mantri Awas (Gramin). Not only is the housing construction going on fast in the state, but the construction quality is also being taken care of. Earlier only 20 to 25 thousand houses could be completed per month, now the number of houses constructed per month has reached to one lakh. In the last financial year, 2 lakh 60 thousand houses were completed. In the first 6 months of this financial year, more than 4 lakh 30 thousand houses have been completed.

So far 48 lakh rural houses have been approved under the scheme in the state, out of which 29 lakh houses have been completed. More than Rs 35 thousand crores have been spent on these houses. Under the special project, 18 thousand 342 houses have been approved in Guna and Sheopur districts.

In the budget of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), a historic increase of 400 percent has been

made in this year’s budget as compared to the last financial year.

Reliance Jio launched its 5G Internet Services for Rajasthan at Shrinathji temple inNathdwara.

According to sources, 20 towers have been installed at various locations in Nathdwara for 5G services. In 2015, before starting 4G service,Reliance IndustrieschairmanMukesh Ambanihad visited Nathdwara to seek the blessings of Lord Shrinathji.

ADB approves Rs 458cr loan to improve infra of Tripura’s capital: OfficialAsian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan amounting to around Rs 458 crore for strengthening urban infrastructure in Tripura’s capital Agartala, an official said.

Guwahati air quality index dips

As hazy skies are back to haunt the state capital, the city’s air quality dipped to the “moderate” category, which causes breathing discomfort to people with lungs, asthma and heart diseases, with a steady reduction in ambient temperature and lack of rain.

After a few months of blue skies and clean air quality index (AQI), PM 2.5 pollutants stood at 144, which was 88 barely one week ago,

the national air quality index of the Central Pollution Control Board stated.

The prominent pollutant is PM2.5 and the peak level of PM2.5, tiny particulate matter of diameter 2.5 microns or less than 2.5 microns – that can enter deep into the lungs – was 271 on Wednesday morning(10 am) contrary to the Average 144 during the day.

An AQI between 0-50 is considered “good”, 51-100 “satisfactory”, 101-200 “moderate”, 201-300 “poor”, 301-400 “very poor”, and 401-500 “severe”. Above 500 AQI is “severe-plus emergency” category.

The variation in AQI values is primarily due to variation in PM 2.5 values, which are seasonal weather characteristics.

The air quality may further deteriorate in the coming days due to the bursting of crackers as every year,Diwalinight pushes the city’s ambient air to dangerous levels which lead to winter pollution.

Last year, Guwahati’s air quality index had dipped to “severe” category with bursting of firecrackers on Diwali and a day after, despite a “complete ban” by the authorities. The average air quality index in Guwahati was 454 – the worst in the last season.
