The Chamarajanagar district administration has taken steps to set up coffee- and pepper-processing units. It has granted 1acre land at BR Hills in Yelandur taluk for the same.

In 2020-21, the tribals recorded a turnover of Rs 1.56 crore by selling over 75 tonnes of coffee and pepper. Moved by their success, Chamarajanagar DC M R Ravi has announced land to set up these units to encourage the products.

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL), which owns and operatesHyderabad airport, is set to invest over Rs 500 crore towards metro connectivity at the airport. As per the company, theTelangana governmenthad sought financial contribution fromGHIALfor the metro project.

The commission recommended a people-friendly face for the UT Police, besides imparting soft skills to police personnel during training at the time of recruitment. The commission pointed out that as most of the complainants who visit police stations are not aware of who they have to meet or where they have to lodge their complaints, a reception area should be set up in each police station. The commission also recommended a separate cyber police station to deal with cyber crimes effectively and setting up of two more sub-divisions along with five more police stations in the city. At present, the city has 17 police stations.

Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government would organise Swarnim Himachal Rath Yatra to commemorate the golden jubilee year of Statehood from October 2 this year. Arya informed that in the first two phases, the department started providing the benefits under the scheme to a total of 1,418 eligible beneficiaries of the State besides providing them with the monetary help of `3,000 each. In the third phase of MVY, Arya informed that a total of 149 beneficiaries were marked in five districts in which 72 beneficiaries are from Tehri, 48 from Nainital, 20 from Haridwar, eight from Rudraprayag and one from Pithoragarh.
