The best performing areas will be rewarded through variouss means. This is being done, the CM said, to generate awareness about the novel coronavirus and ensuring that everyone followed Covid appropriate behaviour.

Out of the 98,386 revenue villages in the state, complete testing had taken place in 89,512 villages and patients had been found in 28,742 villages where testing was being increased.

In this initiative, all public representatives and agencies will encourage people

to follow Covid protocols and ensure that others follow them too. Villages in a district declared Covid-free first will be given benefits of some social schemes.

Vaccine wastage down by half but Chhattisgarh & Jharkhand states of concern’: Official

Even as wastage ofCovid-19vaccinedoseshas come down in most states over the last month, it has increased inJharkhand,Chhattisgarhand Madhya Pradesh among major states and UTs, raising concerns over the need to further improve vaccine management.

the 3.1% reported on April 22. Chhattisgarh has a wastage of 7.4%, up from 2.9%. Madhya Pradesh reported wastage of 3.3% of doses against 1.4% till about a month ago, official data of 15 states, that currently have maximum doses of anti-Covid shots available, showed.

Over 1.7 crore doses of Vaccines are still available with states. Of this, 1.4 crore are with 15 states. UP has the largest balance availability with 25.3 lakh doses, followed byTamil NaduandAndhra Pradeshat 13.1 lakh doses each.Gujarat, MP and Bengal have over 10 lakh doses as balance available stocks, the Health ministry data showed.

In Patna, Bihar, four cases of white fungus’ or candidiasis’ have been discovered.

This infection may be caused by a lack of immunity or by coming into contact with items that contain these moulds, such as water.

White fungus patients have Covid-like symptoms but test negative for the infection, which can be diagnosed with a CT scan or X-ray.

The exact cause has yet to

be determined.

The white fungus affects not only the lungs, but also the “nails, stomach, skin, kidneys, brain, private parts, and mouth.

Visitors atBiodiversity Parklocated in Talpuri ofDurgdistrict will soon have a mesmerizing glimpse of pond filled with lotuses and an open theatre right next to it besides enjoying relaxing and soothing sounds ofbirdschirping.

An open theatre will be developed in the park and arrangement of boating will be done in the pond besides developing the pond as a Lotus Pond.

The

place is a magnificent wetland and will definitely make a better natural habitat for the regular birds and migratory birds. In future, this park will become the Home to birds like Paradise Fly Catcher, Greyhornbill and Whistling Ducks.

Private and forest nurseries in the state are witnessing a rapid rise in demand for medicinal Plants during Covid pandemic as

residents are increasingly buying such plants for their gardens.
As many of these plants with medicinal values including Tulsi significantly improve air quality as per the traditional medicine system, the demand in recent past has increased manifold.

Cyclone Mocha may impact entire NE: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the entire northeastern region may be impacted byCyclone Mochawhich is expected to hit the Myanmar-Bangladesh coast.

IMD officials told TOI that heavy to very heavy rainfall will occur in Mizoram, Tripura and south Manipur as an effect of Mocha. The Met office said several parts of southern northeast will be swept by gusty winds on Sunday even as southAssam’s three Barak Valley districts are also likely to experience rain.

Expecting damage in Mizoram, Tripura, and South Manipur, the IMD has suggested Disaster Management agencies to take action to minimize losses likely to be caused by possible landslides and uprooting of trees.

Assam govt for ban on polygamy by state law

The BJP-ledAssamgovernment has decided to set up an expert committe to examine whether polygamy can be banned in the state by a legislation to provide a major push for empowering Women as it steps into its third year.

Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on theeveof completion of second year in office, on Tuesday said the prevalence of the practice of polygamy, both formal and informal, was found to be high during the crackdown on child marriages since January last.

Polygamy is generally prohibited in all religious communities in India, except the Muslim community. Practising polygamy is an offence punishable under Section 494 and 495 of the IPC, except for the Muslim community, where Section 2 of the Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Application Act, 1937 governs the law pertaining to marriage which allows it.

Agri trade: MNI to be implemented in state

The ministry of Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and farmers welfare has decided to implement the market yard of national importance (MNI) concept in six states, including Odisha, to promote inter-mandi and inter-state trade of agricultural produce in a seamless manner.

The decision was taken at the first meeting of

the expert committee on MNI in Bengaluru. Besides Odisha, the other states where MNI will be implemented are Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh,Rajasthan,Telanganaand Bihar. The experts committee has also been asked to come up with a detail framework for the MNI to be implemented in these states. Sources said that the recommendations will be based on locations and seasons of particular market yards.
