Telangana willing to develop a dedicated industrial corridor for French firms: KTR

TelanganaIT and industries minister KT Rama Rao said the was willing to develop a dedicated industrial cluster for French companies, particularly Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

He said the state has a large land bank of about 2,00,000 acres with the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC).

All these lands are very strategically located and have the best of high-quality infrastructure like power, water, waste disposal, connectivity, he said.

Vijayawada 2nd in drunken driving deaths

Vijayawada stands second among cities in the country in terms of deaths that occur due to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

A total of 7,039 people were killed and 19,675 persons suffered injuries in 17,924road accidentsinAndhra Pradeshin 2020 as per the latest data ofNCRBin its Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India-2020 report.

Of the 94 deaths reported in AP due to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in 2020, Vijayawada accounted for 67.

As per the cause-wise distribution of road accidents among cities in 2020, among the 53 cities, Vijayawada occupies the second position with 67 deaths, after Chennai (236 deaths). Though Kolkata

reported 345 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, it reported

Solar energy boost for powerless homes

With an aim to achieve 100% electrification for households in Goa, the state cabinet on Friday granted approval for the appointment of an agency to install up to 150 additional solar PV systems for households that have no power.

Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL) has been appointed to design, manufacture, supply, install and commission the systems with a comprehensive maintenance contract

for five years under the remote village electrification programme.

The cabinet had, earlier in March, resolved to select CESL and award it the contract to supply, install and commission solar power packs of 500WP capacity each, solar Home lighting system and solar street lighting system.

CESL has already completed installations for 151 households and six solar streetlights.

Maharashtra govt to give Rs 50 lakh towards conservation of Jinji fort in Tamil Nadu

Free Education Scheme Announced In Haryana

Manohar Lal Khattar, Haryana CM, declared a free Education scheme to boost the level of education in the state.

Highlights:

scheme has been proclaimed to those whose verified family income is lower than Rs. 1.80 lakh per annum.

An announcement was made under Haryanas Super 100 Programme.

Through this scheme, the tries to assure that talented students from low-income families will not lose a chance to go on with their dreams.

As per New Education Policy-2020, the state is setting up institutions wherein education will be provided from KG to postgraduate levels.

In the initial phase, this system will be made in four universities.

The Kurukshetra University has then started preparations to take admission under the KG to PG scheme for the academic session 2021-22.

Digital Reformations

The government has also brought digital improvements to replace human interface across every wing of the government.

Online teachers transfer policy has also been initiated under NEP 2020 in Haryana.

The government has also made several other improvements to make the system paperless, faceless, and transparent.

NEP 2020 was announced by the Ministry of Education to transform the Indian education system for meeting the needs of the 21st Century.

It seeks to rectify poor Literacy & numeracy outcomes related to primary schools, adopt a multi-disciplinary approach, and reduce dropout levels in middle & secondary schools.

It also focuses on reform assessments & exams, and early childhood care.

Archana Thakur first-ever woman to head Himachal PWD

The Atal Utkrisht Schools are CBSE-affiliated English-medium institutions. They have been developed on the lines of top private schools. Currently, we have 28,000 students enrolled in about 180 Atal schools. The strength of students in these model schools is likely to increase in the coming months.”

Meanwhile, the education

department is yet to start the process to recruit primary teachers in state-run schools even as the aspirants, looking forward to the recruitment process, have been protesting for over a year now. They have urged the government to set the recruitment process in motion as early as possible.
According to an estimate, more than 2,000 teacher posts are vacant in primary schools across the hill state.

The Public Distribution System (PDS) has distributed approximately 1.22 crore metric tons (MT) of free food grains across the state since the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020.

Uttar Pradesh has distributed around 98.53 lakh MT of free food grains under PMGKAY and 23.39 lakh MT of free ration has been distributed separately by the government, which is over and above the ration being distributed under PMGKAY. The total distribution amounts to around 1.22 crore MT.

In order to help the migrant workers, poor and underprivileged sections of Society to tide over hardships caused by the pandemic, the has been providing free 5 kg food grains to over 15 crore beneficiaries of the state. Under the scheme, each beneficiary receives 3 kg wheat and 2 kg rice. As per the Central government directives, the distribution was carried out entirely through PoS devices with biometric Aadhaar and dealer authentication in a transparent manner.

During 2020, of the total allocation of 58.02 lakh MT food grains under PMGKAY-2020 (April-November 2020), approximately 56.21 lakh MT food grains (i.e. around 96.87 per cent) were distributed in the state. In 2021 (PMGKAY-III), out of a total allocation of around 14.71 lakh MT food grains (May -June 2021) approximately 14,13,984.816 MT (i.e. around 96.07 per cent) food grains have been distributed by the state

While during PMGKAY-IV so far, against the allocation of 29,43,719.040 MT of grains around 28,18,527.091 MT has been given which is around 95.75 per cent. The distribution will continue till November.

Along with PMGKAY, the UP government is also distributing free ration and giving double relief to

the people. The distribution by the state continued from April to June in 2020, while in 2021, the state government made the distribution for the months of June, July, and August. Uttar Pradesh has more than 1,30,07,969 beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana and over 13,41,77, 983 under priority household cardholders. The state has over 80,000 fair-price shops.

The distribution for October under PMGKAY commenced on October 19 and till October 26 , more than 2.88 crore ration cards received 6,76,398.649 MT of ration which comes around 80.04 per cent of the total ration cards and 82.38 per cent of total allotment

Rishi Prakash Mishra, a member of the organizing body said that as many as 72 short and feature films will be screened during two days programme. He said that other than India films from Switzerland, USA, Germany, Australia, Taiwan, China, Iran, Argentina, Sri Lanka, Kosovo, Italy, Canada and Brazil will be displayed.

He said that filmmakers of Jharkhand will get the opportunity to screen their films whereas local artists will get a chance to display their talent. The occasion will be special as several plays of noted playwright Rajiv Sinha will be staged.
