The Urban Slum Health Scheme has provided free health check-up and medical treatment to poor families in slums in Chhattisgarh.
44.19 lakh have availed the free treatment under the scheme provided by Mobile Medical Units.
A total of 120 mobile units equipped with doctors, paramedical teams, medical equipment and medicines regularly visit the urban slums.
So far, around 10.57 lakh patients have got pathology tests done and more than 37.41 lakh patients have got free medicines.
The beneficiaries include more than 2.76 lakh labourers.
Till now, 58,168 camps have been held in 169 urban bodies. The scheme is run by the Urban Administration and Development Department of Chhattisgarh, an official Communication said.
The scheme was started in November 2020. In March 2022, it was expanded to the entire state.
