New species of bird observed in Cgarh

A new species of bird, Fire-Capped Tit, has been observed in Gaurella-Pendra-Marwahi district of Chhattisgarh. This was confirmed by www.ebird.org

The male birds face has a slight red colour instead of a fiery red color, which makes it unique. The red part is absent on the female birds face. But both are distinctive in terms of size.

The beak is short and sharp while its plumage is Light yellow, an official Communication said.

Both male and female birds have yellow upper-parts and lighter brown undersides, although the males upperparts are predominantly paler than the female’s.

They have been found in broadleaf forest, at medium and higher altitudes. The birds generally live in their flock but sometimes can be seen with other species of birds.
