State Election Commission has decided to have a dry run of a “Mobile-Based e-voting system”.

The requirement to conduct Polls amidst of pandemic has to lead the government to initiate this process.
This will help the voters to vote from the comfort of their homes.
This Mobile Based E-Voting will be held in the Khammam district of Telangana on 20 October.
This will be the first time for India to have a Mobile based e-voting process.
The Voters have to register themselves between 8 October to 18 October.
The company implementing this is the technologies wing of the IT Electronics and Communications (ITE&C) department of the Telangana government and technical development by the ‘Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC)’.

This smartphone application follows a minimalist design approach, supporting both English and Telugu languages.
The system can’t be misused because it binds a tool ID and number to a particular citizen registration process. Only that device will be used during voting.
A mobile-based e-voting system will make use of Artificial Intelligence for a three-factor authentication of the valid voter.
Blockchain (Distributed Ledger) technology has been used to secure de-identified and encrypted votes to maintain them as immutable records.
