The sharing of waters of the interstate river, Cauvery was an issue of conflict between the co-basin states of Karnataka, Nadu, Kerala and Union territory of Puducherry. The CWDT constituted in 1956 to adjudicate the disputes between the co-basin states, had delivered its final order on February 5, 2007.
