GoI Approval For Renaming Places In MP

The Indian government has approved the renaming of three locations in Madhya Pradesh.

Highlights:

Hoshangabad Nagar will be renamed “Narmadapuram,” Shivpuri will be renamed “Kundeshwar Dham,” and Babai will be renamed “Makhan Nagar,” according to the Indian government.

The MP government, led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, proposes renaming the three locations in Madhya Pradesh in 2021.

The Ministry of Home Affairs gave their Consent to the rebranding (MHA).

Hoshangabad Nagar was renamed Narmadapuram after Hoshang Shah, the first fully anointed Sultan of the Malwa Sultanate of Central India.

Babai has been renamed in honour of Makhanlal Chaturvedi, a well-known journalist and poet.

Makhanlal Chaturvedi was born in Babai, Madhya Pradesh, and in 1992, the government dedicated a national university of journalism and Communication after him in Bhopal.
