First Destroyer Delivered By Mazagon Dock

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) delivered the first ship of Project 15B Class Destroyer Visakhapatnam to the INDIAN NAVY on 28 October.

Highlights:

In November, the ship is expected to be commissioned as one of India’s largest destroyers, with an overall length of 164 meters and a displacement of roughly 7,500 tonnes, and was built using indigenous steel.

The ship is a powerful platform that can perform a variety of operations and missions across the entire spectrum of maritime combat.

It is armed with long-range Barak-8 surface-to-air missiles and supersonic Brahmos surface-to-surface missiles, as well as indigenously produced anti-submarine weapons and sensors for undersea warfare.
