The state plans to set up two textile parks with common facilities and Infrastructure to support the entire value chain and draw investment. Under the PM-MITRA scheme, the Centre has assured to provide a

capital support of Rs 500 crore or 30 per cent of the project cost (whichever is highest) to develop common infrastructure in the proposed textiles park.

The Nadu government has established the first-ever Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to handle environmental conservation missions in the state.

“Tamil Nadu Green Climate Company” is the name given to the special purpose entity.
Tamil Nadu Climate Change, Tamil Nadu Wetlands, and Tamil Nadu Green Movement are three essential natural conservation missions that the company will professionally manage.
This was formed after Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged that India would be carbon-neutral by 2070.

Mission SPV

SPV’s mission is to plan, implement, and monitor a variety of climate change adaptation and mitigation programs across the state.
Wetland mapping and restoration are two of the most important aspects of the project.
Increasing woodland and tree cover to 33%.
SPV will also build strong policy support for climate change across all government sectors.
It will develop methods for reducing greenhouse gas emissions as well as benchmarking industries in the transition to green manufacturing.

Karnataka: Doorstep delivery of govt services launched in Bengaluru, to be launched across state from Jan 26

Commemorating the 66th Kannada Rajyotsava, theKarnatakagovernment launched thedoorstep deliveryof 56 government Services in Bengaluru under the Janasevaka programme.

Chief ministerBasavaraj Bommaiinaugurated the Janasevaka programme in Malleswaram constituency and said the government will be expanding the same across Karnataka from January 26, 2022.

Launched on a pilot basis in 2019, the programme was expanded to four constituencies in the City Dasarahalli, Bommanahalli,Rajajinagarand Mahadevpura and then in Yeshwanthpura in January 2021.

The pilot project had alone seen 93,000 applications raised till date.

These departments include Revenue, BBMP, Karnataka building and other construction workers welfare board, Police verification by Karnataka Police, UIDAI (Aadhar card),Karnataka Arogyahealth card, senior

citizens card and APL cards.

Launching the programme, CM Bommai said the Janasevaka concept has also been initiated towards delivering ration to the BPL families at their doorsteps to ensure citizen friendly Governance.

University of Hyderabads NEP initiatives from next academic year

TheUniversity of Hyderabad(UoH) is all set to implement new initiatives under the National Education Policy (NEP) from the next

academic year (2022-23) following its decision to constitute a committee to devise a roadmap.

The UoH has recently constituted a 13-member committee, headed by Prof Vinod Pavarala from the school of communications, on implementation of the NEP 2020. The committee has been given a brief to formulate a detailed roadmap for phase-wise implementation of NEP and work with all schools, departments and centres at the university to put together new programmes and corresponding structures where necessary.

Setting the target of March 15 for bringing all such new initiatives to the academic council of the university for approval, UoH vice-chancellor professor BJ Rao announced that they would be implemented in the 2022-2023 academic year.
