ungarpur district has clinched the first position in the state and second in the country in providing roofs to residents under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana (PMAY-G). Against the sanctioned 1,00,054 proposals, the Dungarpur administration has disbursed funds for 93,128 persons and helped them realise the dream of owning their house.
Dungarpur, being a tough terrain largely occupied by tribal Population having marginal land and low Literacy rate, it was a challenge for the district authorities to help the beneficiaries build homes for themselves. Around 1 lakh persons qualifying under the PMAY were identified, informed of the scheme and asked to begin construction on their land.
