The CM reviewed two proposedBills, to be laid in the next session of the state assembly for setting up two new universities exclusively for engineering and medical science streams.
After enactment of the proposed Bills, all engineering colleges across the state would be governed by the proposed Bihar Engineering University, while all medical colleges of the state by the proposed Bihar University of Medical Sciences.
The state currently has 38 government-run engineering colleges while 17 engineering colleges in the private sector.
Besides these two new universities, the Nitish government has also planned to set up two more new universities one each exclusively for the Sports sector and another for art & culture.
