After introducing the unique cash-for-cow-dung scheme, Congress government inChhattisgarhis ready to launch yet another scheme for procuring cow urine at a price of Rs 4 per litre as part of its effort to generate income for farmers as well as to ensure sustainable cow protection across the state.
The scheme is to be launched on the occasion of Hareli Tihar on July 28. Bhupesh Baghel’s government says it is for the first time that any government has come up with a scheme to procure bovine urine by extending its Gaudhan Nyay Yojana.
Gaudhan Nyay Mission director Ayyaz Tamboli has directed all district collectors to make necessary arrangements for the same.
The procured cow urine would be used for the preparation of pest control products and natural liquid fertiliser with the help of self-help Women groups. This will reduce the cost of Fertilizers in farming and the use of liquid fertilizers in fields.
The departments of animal husbandry and Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture science centre would impart special training for the same to select women groups.
Chhattisgarh was the first state in the country to launch the unique Gaudhan Nyay Yojana on June 25, 2020, on the occasion of Hareli festival.
