Rajasthans Chhabra Super Thermal Power Station (CSTPS), which meets one-fourth of the states power requirement, is grappling with water scarcity due to fall in reservoir levels, officials said.
The 2320-megawatt plant in Baran district produces 55.6 million units of power every day from its six generation units. The plant gets water supply from the Parvati river and Hinglot, Bainthali and Lahasi Dams.
The plant has four power generation units of 250 megawatt each and two units of 660 megawatt each.
The Resources“>Water Resources department also confirmed water scarcity in the Chhabra region due to weak monsoon last year.
