The Chhattisgarh government on Friday launched a plantation drive, Tuhar Paudha Tuhar Dwar, with Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar formally flagging off publicity vehicles filled with different species of Plants.
In the current monsoon season, the government has set a target of planting 2.81 crore saplings across the state.
The government will plant 1.14 crore saplings and distribute 1.67 lakh saplings to citizens for plantation.
A total of 3.12 crore saplings are ready for the scheme in 257 nurseries, an official Communication said.
A doorstep delivery of saplings is being done by the government. Those interested can telephone 75870 11614 to get 1-5 saplings in municipal areas of Raipur.
