Lulu Group to invest Rs 2,400 crore in malls in Prayagraj, Varanasi

TheLulu Groupis plannig to expand its retail business in the state within the next three years. Senior executives of the company, which operates a chain of hypermarkets, announced on Saturday that the group has plans to open a shopping mall in Prayagraj and Varanasi with total investments of Rs 2,400 crore. After that, the group has plans to expand its operations in the retail space in UP by covering Kanpur andGorakhpur.

Lulu Group has already started work on setting up a Food Processing plant in Greater Noida.

To promote products manufactured by UP-based artisans and craftsman, an area will be demarcated on the ground floor of the mall. The group will showcase the patented ODOP products prominently.

As a tribute to former UP chief ministerKalyan Singh, the UP government on Monday announced that one road each in six districts Ayodhya, Lucknow, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Etah and Prayagraj would be renamed after the stalwart saffron party leader who passed away in Lucknow on August 21.

Sources said PWD is contemplating renaming the road leading to Ramjanmabhoomi in Ayodhya where the Ram Temple is coming up as Kalyan Singh Marg.
The other five districts, too, have been strategically selected. Prayagraj is an important Hindu religious centre, while Lucknow is the state capital. Atrauli in Aligarh was Kalyans birthplace and he won nine UP assembly from the seat since 1967. He lost it only in 1980 to Anwar Khan of Congress. After leaving the BJP in 1999, he had formed Jan Kranti Party (Rashtrawadi) and won from Atrauli in 2002 assembly elections.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath unveils portal for interaction with government

To ensure greater participation of people in Governance, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched MyGov-Meri Sarkar portal.

The portal will give citizens a platform to post comments and suggestions and directly communicate with the government on various policies and schemes. The website is an extension of the MyGov portal launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 26, 2014.

Governments announce schemes but there is no participation of people in drafting these schemes. In a Democracy, the government is of the people, for the people and by the people. This portal will help us ensure that the public is as much a part of as the government is, Yogi said, adding that not only would the people get benefits of various schemes through the portal, the government would also get their inputs and suggestions to ensure that every section of the Society receives benefits.

1,23,733 inheritance cases settled under Varasat campaign

The Uttar Pradesh government has settled as many as 1,23,733 pending inheritance related cases in the state under the Varasat campaign since May 30 this year.

The Yogi Adityanath government launched Varasat campaign with the aim to end land and revenue disputes as well as cases of illegal occupation of land by land mafia.

The campaign, which will continue till July 31, seeks to settle inheritance related cases that have been pending with the Revenue department for several years, by getting the names of the legal inheritors of properties registered in khataunis (land records) to end disputes once and for all.

As per the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a special Varasat campaign is being run by the Revenue Board in all the gram sabhas of the state. It may be mentioned here that most of the cases related to land disputes are heard on Tehsil Day in every district of the state. The Police data also include a large number of land dispute cases. Therefore, the campaign also aims at curbing land conflicts and controlling highhanded behaviour of tehsil employees.

The Yogi government has also set the target of 100 per cent disposal of the pending cases of undisputed inheritance in the state during the campaign along with getting the names of the legal heirs registered in khatauni.

The Varasat campaign is proving to be a great initiative for legal successors of properties in getting physical rights in time, reducing unnecessary revenue disputes and illegal occupation of land by land mafia and anti-social Elements. It helps in maintaining law and order related to terrestrial rights.

Lucknow: 603crore agriculture scheme to boost farmer’s income

The Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture department has started work on rolling out the Rs 603 crore Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Kisan Samriddhi scheme inUttar Pradesh. Issuing a government order on Wednesday, the department has set a goal of changing the status of 2.19 lakh hectare of unproductive land for agriculture purposes.

Barring Gautam Budh Nagar all the remaining 74 districts are going to be covered under the scheme. Officials said due to limited agriculture activity in Noida andGreater Noidaand unavailability of farm workers, the UP-NCR district was not included in the scheme.

The Yogi government gave its approval to launch the scheme and provided the budget in the cabinet meeting that took place on June 14. After carrying out surveys the department identified 1.78 lakh hectare of barren and fallow land and an additional 41,000 hectare of low-lying and waterlogged land. The department said that work on improving the condition of the waterlogged and low-lying land would be done through MGNREGA funds while funds required to turn around barren land into productive fields will be provided by the .

Udyami Mitras to help UP achieve $1 trn economy

The government will appoint 105 friends of investors in each district and Lucknow and other major divisional headquarters to assist investors with policies, land availability, government systems and handhold them through the entire process till their unit is set up.

The Udyami Mitra were selected on the basis of a written exam and are expected to provide pace to the process of shortlisting companies which will be in a position to ground their projects during the first ground breaking ceremony scheduled to take place in a few months.

Advisor to CM Arvind Kumar apprised the newly selected Udyami Mitra about the comprehensive industrial ecosystem being developed by the and various reforms and policies announced to attract and facilitate Investment in the state. He spoke about the upcoming major Infrastructure projects such as multi-modal Logistics parks, pharma parks, dedicated freight corridor and six nodes of the DEFENCE Corridor.

Over 48,000 kids below 10 years in UP have come in Covid grip: Govt data

The state since the onset of novel coronavirus pandemic, according to the data shared by state Health and family welfare department.

The number of boys (27,851) with Covid-19 infection was higher than the girls (20,839). Also, 1.42 lakh cases among minors were recorded in the age group of 11-20 years. Together, it formed about 11.3% of the total caseload in the state.

The data is crucial in view of the concerns that more children could get infection in the anticipated third wave. Global estimates indicate that about 40% of cases in the third wave could affect minors.

Among the steps taken by the government under the Leadership of CMYogi Adityanath, development of paediatric intensive care units and training of required workforce are important.

The Uttar Pradesh government is contemplating setting up manufacturing and logistics clusters spread over 600 hectares alongside the expressways. UP has the longest network of expressways in the country.

MOUs for these proposed clusters, to be set up at the cost of Rs 10 lakh crore, were signed during the UP Global Investors Summit earlier this year in Lucknow.

The proposed mega clusters will come up around Purvanchal and Bundelkhand expressways apart from the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. The government has identified 600 hectares of land in six districts Barabanki, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Gorakhpur, Banda, and Jalaun.

Of the total proposals of Rs 35 lakh crore, Purvanchal (Eastern UP) and Bundelkhand regions hold a share of Rs 9.54 lakh crore and Rs 4.27 lakh crore, respectively. They collectively account for almost 40 per cent of the total value of the MoU.

Since investors need large swathes of land to set up manufacturing units or for Warehousing and Logistics needs, the state is moving fast to ramp up the land bank for allotment to companies.

Agra Metro aims to recharge 10 lakh litres of groundwater every yea

As part of conservation efforts,AgraMetro Project authorities aim to recharge 10 lakh litres of groundwater every year. Work has started to construct 300 recharge pits along the 29-km-long metro rail alignment for the purpose. Besides, rainwater harvesting systems will also be developed at half a dozen other locations to maximize the collection of rainwater.

Along these lines, Agra Metro Project is also making elaborate arrangements for groundwater recharge and rainwater harvesting. This metro project will be the first of its kind in Agra to take such extensive steps for groundwater recharge.

The Agra Metro rail project is likely to be completed by 2025.

Agra bags smart city award for skill development initiative

Agra under the India Smart Cities Awards Contest (ISAC) 2020, securedsecond position at the national levelin the economy category for establishingmicro Skill development centres, empowering 1,350 Women.

The city of Taj was declared best performer among the 40 cities selected for the central government’s Smart City Development Project in 2016.

Uttar Pradeshwas ranked as the best performing state in the country with respect to the Smart City mission. Overall, Agra was adjudged the best performer in the state for implementation of the smart city project.

Under the smart city project, four skill development centres were set up in the Tajganj locality last year. The smart city project team helped develop 104 women self-help groups involving 10 to 15 women in each. At present, 1,350 women from weaker sections of Society are actively working on seven different traditional skill sets and earning their living. These skills are zardozi work, marble inlay work, carpet-making, brush-making, flower bouquet-making, paper craft and crafting ornamental items.

Agra was selected for the smart city development in September 2016. The project covers Rs 2,000 crore-worth makeover plans, including an area-based development plan, which envisages retrofitting 2,250 acre of select area around Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Jama Masjid and other parts of the old city.
