GPS-based monitoring of construction of rural roads

The has deployed vehicle tracking system (VTS) under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) to accelerate construction of roads in rural areas and ensure their quality.

A GPS-based VTS has been installed on over 950 equipment and machinery being used in the construction of village roads. A command centre has been set up in UPRRDA for its monitoring, from where information is updated every moment. This includes locating the machines working on a site, the number of hours they have worked, and the quality of the work done.

UP govt to honour meritorious students

In its ongoing pursuit to enhance the quality of Education in Uttar Pradesh, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to organise a Nipun Samman (brilliant achievement) ceremony every month to honour meritorious students. The selected students will be honoured in this ceremony by their parents and dignitaries.

These students will play a supportive role for the rest of the students. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to accelerate various activities in the state to ensure the effective implementation of the Skill India Mission. Specific benchmarks are also established for these activities to meet smart targets by 2025-26.

Within the Skill India Mission framework, the aim is to raise the Learning level of students studying in classes 1-3 and bring them up to class level.

The significance of encouraging all children and their parents to help their children become skilled students and the school to become a capable school will be published and motivated.

Efforts are on to make water available in the parched and rugged Bundelkhand region where the Uttar Pradesh government has set a target to set up 10,000 ponds under Khet Talab Yojana at an estimated cost of Rs 10,000 crore.

People of Bundelkhand will no longer be thirsty as the Yogi Adityanath government is trying diligently to ensure optimal use of every drop of water in the region through various projects, including https://exam.pscnotes.com/sprinkler-Irrigation“>Sprinkler Irrigation and Khet Talab Yojana. The State Government plans to build 10,000 farm ponds at a cost of Rs 100 crore in the 2021-22 financial year. Government agencies have already dug 4,400 farm ponds at a cost of Rs 49.56 crore so far as part of the Other Intervention component of its ‘Per Drop More Crop’ scheme. Most ponds have been constructed in Bundelkhand and Vindhya regions. Besides geo-tagging of these ponds, 50 per cent subsidy is given to the farmers through direct benefit transfer (DBT). Water saved in these ponds during the rainy season will be used for irrigation purposes and as drinking water for the cattle in the rest of the season.

According to an estimate, around 20 million cubic metre of drinking water will be available to the people of Mahoba. Aiming to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogans such as ‘Per Drop, More Crop’ and ‘Water to Every Field, the BJP government in the state has been intensively working on these projects since taking over four years ago.

UP Har Ghar Jal scheme crosses 50 per cent mark

Uttar Pradesh achieved the target of 50 per cent of its Har Ghar Jal scheme which is aimed at providing clean drinking water to rural families.

As many as 1.3 crore families in rural areas have got tap connections, which will benefit 7.9 crore people. Under the Har Ghar Jal scheme, a total of 2.6 crore rural families have to be provided clean water by 2024.
The Centre has congratulated the Yogi government on its achievement. Jal Shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh and principal secretary Anurag Srivastava Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply department congratulated the officials, engineers and staff for the achievement.
The scheme has been implemented in the remote areas in nine districts of Bundelkhand and Vindhyan region.

In seven districts in Bundelkhand, over 11 lakh families got a clean water supply. Mahoba district is on the top of the districts that have got new tap connections in the Bundelkhand region. A total of 91.8% of rural families in Mahoba have got clean water supply. In the Vindhyan region, more than four lakh rural families have been covered under the scheme.

Uttar Pradesh Government framing Oxygen policy, seeks more investors

MSMEministerSidharth Nath Singh said that to meet the demand for Oxygen in the ongoing pandemic, thestate governmentwas working on formulating anoxygen policy. The policy would offer incentives to encourage more investors in the sector.

Singh also spoke about the need to have a robust medical and healthcare in the state for any unforeseen contingencies or challenges like the Covid-19 pandemic. Asking the Industry for some out of the box suggestions on how this could be done at the earliest, the minister said that the pandemic has disrupted business activities and the momentum would have to be revived by the collective efforts of the government and the industry.

BlockChain Based Degrees Launched In IIT Kanpur

PM Modi announces the launch of digital degrees based on blockchain technology at IIT Kanpur.

Highlights:

At the 54th Convocation Ceremony of IIT Kanpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched blockchain-based digital degrees as part of the National Blockchain Project.

The completed section of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project and the Bina-Panki Multiproduct Pipeline Project were also inaugurated by the Prime Minister later.

These digital degrees are unforgeable and can be verified globally.

IIT Kanpur developed the blockchain technology that it uses to award digital degrees in-house.

It is being hailed as a game-changing technology in the field of Education. In the financial sector, the technology is already in use.

The institute developed the technology as part of the National Blockchain Project.
