Prayagraj to get 3 more cement production units

The district is all set to become the major hub ofcementmanufacturing in the state with three more cement units coming up in Shankargarh regio of the trans-Yamuna area.

Prayagraj already has two cement manufacturing Plants, both located at trans-Yamuna area. Land has been identified for the three new cement production units in Shankragarh area. These three units are being set up by three different private firms.

At present the district has two cement plants runninga Cement blending plant of 6.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of Jaypee Group atSadwaand another of Ulta Tech Cement having a 2MTPA plant at Bara.

As per the official of theUttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority(UPCIDA), Prayagraj, an MoU with the company has already been signed. The firm will be setting up a Clinker grinding unit of a capacity of 2.50 MTPA at cost of Rs 400 crore in Bara area. The firm is already in the process of purchasing the land.

In a bid to empower women across Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government will link as many as two lakh new eligible girl beneficiaries with the Kanya Sumangala Scheme by December 15 and transfer the grant amount directly to their bank accounts.

Director, Women Welfare and Child Development, Manoj Rai, said that under the Mission Shakti Abhiyan, the work of adding new eligible girls to this scheme was going on at a fast pace. He said so far, over 1.50 lakh girls had been added to the scheme so that they could be well educated and become self-reliant.

Rai also said that the government had given targets to all the 75 districts to provide the advantage of the scheme to about two lakh new girls in less than three months so that they could be well educated and become self-reliant.

The commitment to the safety, self-reliance and dignity of women and daughters has been the mainstay of the Yogi government. Under the flagship Mission Shakti 3.0 campaign, more than 28.32 lakh people have been made aware in just four months. From August 7, 2021 to November 25, as many as 28,32,104 people, including 12,18,181 boys, 16,09238 women and 4,685 others have been made aware by the department.

As many as 24,728 applications were received for Kanya Sumangala Yojana out of which 12,931 had been accepted, 10,329 applications were received under Destitute Women’s Pension Scheme out of which 3,780 were accepted, 2,521 applications were received under Mukhya Mantri Bal Seva Yojana out of which 810 were accepted, 2,636 applications were received under Mukhya Mantri Bal Seva Yojana (General) out of which 529 were accepted.

UP to host Khelo Indianational University games

Uttar Pradeshwill host theKhelo India National University Games2023-24. Additional chief secretary, sport, Navneet Sehgal on Wednesday gave a presentation before the representatives ofKhelo Indiain this connection. The ACS said thatNational University Gameswill be held in four districts of Uttar Pradesh Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Noida.

At least 20 Sports events including rowing, basketball, judo, kabaddi and wrestling will be organised and around 4,500 players from 150 universities will participate in the games, he said. Under-26 category players will take part in the National University Games and special focus will be on womens games. Best of the facilities will be provided to players.

Uttar Pradesh govts insurance scheme to help 4.5 crore registered workers

Months ahead of the 2022 Assembly polls, the has launched an Insurance scheme for registered workers in the unorganised sector.

The scheme will benefit a massive 4.5 crore people, or 21% of UPs Population. Registered workers will also be eligible for cashless, free medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh under the CM Jan Aarogya Scheme.

The CMs Disaster Insurance Scheme is meant only for registered workers though sources said

that the government will now embark on a major drive to register all workers in unorganised sector.

The full amount will be paid in case of death, complete disability, or loss of two limbs. In case of loss of one limb or an eye, 50% of the amount will be paid. If permanent disability is over 50% but less than 100%, then 50% of the amount will be given but if disability is 25%-50%, then 25% of the amount will be given.

Launching National Nutrition Month in Lucknow, Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that nutrition of women and children was necessary to make the country and the state strong, capable and prosperous.

he two top leaders also inaugurated 529 new Anganwadi centres constructed at a cost of about Rs. 4,142 lakh in 24 districts of the state. Citations were distributed to Anganwadi workers, chief sevikas and child development project officers and appointment letters were distributed to 91 newly-selected child development project officers.

Addressing the programme, Governor Anandiben Patel said that special attention needs to be paid to the Health of Women, girls, and children in order to make the country and the state strong, capable, and prosperous. Remarkable efforts have been made by the under the Leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in this direction, she said.

Emphasising inter-departmental coordination for effective operation of various programmes during National Nutrition Month, Patel said that the results of programmes related to removal of Malnutrition among women and children could be further improved and that public participation had a useful role in getting rid of malnutrition.

Expressing happiness that people were willing to provide land for the Ganga Expressway project to the administration, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to speed up the process of purchase of remaining 1,221 hectares of land for the project.

Till date, 5,261 hectares of land has been purchased from 63,362 farmers which accounts for 80 per cent of the total requirement of the project.

The 594-km-long Ganga Expressway project of UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is an approved six-lane access-controlled road with a route alignment connecting National Highway 334 in Meerut with National Highway 2 at Prayagraj bypass in Prayagraj. This Greenfield project was first announced to connect Noida with Ballia during the Mayawati regime in 2008. Since then, the project in Phase 1 has been revised to connect Meerut with Prayagraj.

In Phase 2, the expressway will be extended by 110 km to Tigri on Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand border and by 314 km to Ballia near Varanasi. In February 2021, the Uttar Pradesh government decided to extend the project on either end — from Meerut to Haridwar and from Prayagraj to Varanasi from the get-go. The total estimated cost of the project is around Rs 40,000 crore.

Satyarthi campaign to eradicate child crime at village level

Renowned child rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi has embarked on a new initiative to eradicate child crime at the village level, in collaboration with multiple non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

The campaign aims to raise awareness about child crimes and ensure strict actions against those involved.

In the initial phase, 300 villages in Meerut and Baghpat have been selected in association with the Janhit Foundation to participate in this noble endeavour.

Under the campaign, each village will establish a committee named Bal Mitra, comprising 15 individuals, including the village head, Anganwadi workers, and ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists).

This committee will have several crucial responsibilities, including preventing child marriages, curbing Child Labour, and combating child trafficking. The committee will closely monitor any crimes committed against children and educate them about toll-free helpline numbers for immediate assistance, said Anita Rana, director of Janhit Foundation.

Explaining the significance of the Bal Mitra committees, she said that these committees would play a vital role in the campaign, acting as the frontline DEFENCE against child crimes.

UPs strategy on lumpy disease has made it safest state for cattle

UP has emerged as the safest state for cattle suffering from lumpy skin disease. The state reported the least number of deaths due to the disease over the past one year. While the all-India mortality rate was 5%, in UP only 0.05% of the affected cattle died due to the lumpy disease.

The vector-borne disease had created a lot of anxiety among cattle owners as it resulted into an alarming situation inRajasthanandHaryanain July last year. More than 1.55 lakh cattle died due to the disease in the country and affected the milk production capacity of several states including Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana and Punjab.

While 18 doctors who were instrumental in carrying out the high vaccination rate were felicitated by the government on Wednesday, the department is ensuring that the payments to the maitri volunteers who work under the UP development board was done directly into their bank accounts.

UP has a cattle Population of 1.9 crore out of which 1.58 crore have been vaccinated. About 1.12 lakh cattle got affected by the disease out of which 1.1 lakh cattle have recovered.

CM: Mission Rojgar to connect 2 crore youths with employment in 3-4 years

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the was running a big campaign under Mission Rojgar through which more than two crore youths of the state would get jobs and EMPLOYMENT in different sectors in the next three-four years.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the two-day Lucknow Kaushal Mahotsav, organised in collaboration with the National Skill development Mission and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi said that the government had also started CM Apprenticeship Training with which seven and a half lakh youths of the state would be connected.

Under the apprenticeship scheme, the government and the Industry would each give half of the honorarium to the youths studying in universities and colleges, the chief minister said, adding that they would be connected with experiential work and new training.
