To help the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with required financial support, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has launched two schemes. One is SHWAS (SIDBI assistance to healthcare sector) and the other is AROG (SIDBI Assistance to MSMEs for recovery & organic growth during COVID-19 pandemic). The schemes have been launched to counter the adverse impact of the second wave of COVID-19.

The schemes are devised under the guidance of the Union Government which facilitates funding for production and Services related to supply of Oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, oximeters and essential drugs.

In the second wave, the massive resurgence of COVID-19 in the country has led to unprecedented burden on Health of the country. The Centre has taken numerous steps to step up supply of oxygen and essential drugs to hospitals. To ensure that, SIDBI has taken the initiatives for helping MSMEs quickly augment their facilities and augmenting capabilities to fight the pandemic.

SIDBI has devised these schemes to help the healthcare service providers in the fight against the pandemic. These schemes envisage 100% funding up to an amount of Rs 2 crore to a MSME unit at an attractive interest rate of 4.50%-6% pa within 48 hours after receipt of all the documents information. Over 50% of ruralfamilies in 22 UPdistricts get tap water

In a significant achievement, the Uttar Pradesh government has provided tap water connections to more than 50 per cent of rural families in 22 districts across the state under Har Ghar Nal Yojana.

These districts, among others, include Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Gorakhpur, the hometown of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Besides, seven districts from Bundelkhand region are incorporated in the list.

Under Har Ghar Nal Yojana, tap water connections were provided to 99,16,379 families in UP until Tuesday. The government aims to provide tap connections to 2,65,46,370 rural households by 2024.

The Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply department has also expedited the process to finish the task of providing tap water to every household in the remaining 53 districts in order to meet the target.

In terms of the number of tap water connections provided, Uttar Pradesh currently ranks third in the country, with 22 districts of the state having achieved more than 50 per cent of the target.

In Prime Minister Narendra Modis parliamentary constituency Varanasi, 50.79 per cent rural households whereas in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanaths Home district Gorakhpur, 58.57 percent households have started getting pure tap water.

Mahoba of Bundelkhand has topped among the districts providing tap water connections to more than 84.65 per cent of the rural households and 1,13,034 out of 1,33,529 families have been provided with tap water. It is followed by Lalitpur district of Bundelkhand where 73.03 per cent of the Population has been provided with clean tap water. Baghpat comes at third spot with 72.37 per cent of households getting tap water, followed by Mirzapur at number four with 71.84 per cent of households having received tap water connections.

All seven districts of Bundelkhand have been provided with more than 50 per cent of its tap water connection needs. In Jhansi, 71.21 per cent of households now have access to tap water. Chitrakoot (67.33 per cent) is fifth among districts providing maximum tap connections while Banda ranks sixth with 64.82 per cent of households getting tap water.

UP govt eyeing Rs 20,000 crore investment in tourism sector

The Yogi Adityanath government is eyeing worth Rs 20,000 crore in the tourism sector in order to develop Uttar Pradesh as a ‘Tourism State’ and create EMPLOYMENT for 10 lakh youths in the next five years.

In order to achieve this ambitious goal, the government has announced a subsidy of up to Rs 40 crore for investors willing to develop major tourist places in the state as well as the lesser known, but beautiful natural destinations.

The new tourism policy approved by the cabinet gives a lot of relief to the investors through rebates and incentives for the development of tourist destinations.

Under the new policy, various types of grants have been announced for entrepreneurs investing in the state. According to the policy, those investing between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 10 crore will get a rebate of 25 per cent, or up to Rs 2 crore. Similarly, entrepreneurs investing between Rs 10 crore and Rs 50 crore will be provided a 20 per cent subsidy or up to Rs 7.5 crore.

Entrepreneurs with investment between Rs 50 crore and Rs 200 crore will get a subsidy of 15 per cent, or up to Rs 20 crore whereas those investing between Rs 200 crore and Rs 500 crore will be given a rebate of 10 per cent, or up to Rs 25 crore. Besides, subsidy will be provided at the rate of 10 per cent or Rs 40 crore, whichever is higher, to premier investors investing capital above Rs 500 crore.

The new policy also aims to develop the understanding, need and importance of tourism and culture among the youth and children from the very beginning. Under this, youth tourism clubs have been identified as a means to develop responsible and sustainable tourism in the country. In addition, there will be Awards for the best tour operator, wellness centre, hotel, heritage hotel, best eco tourism operator.

GI tags soon for major food products of UP

After the grand success of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanaths ambitious One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, the , with the aim to provide wider recognition to local goods, will bestow GI tags on major delicacies of Uttar Pradesh such as Mathuras peda, Agras petha, Kanpurs sattu and bukunu, among others.

The states Marketing“>Agricultural Marketing and Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Foreign Trade department has ramped up preparations to provide GI tags to special delicacies of Uttar Pradesh representing different districts.

Applications have already been submitted seeking GI tags for agricultural and processed products like Chausa mango, Banarasi paan of Varanasi, imarti of Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh and the registration process is in the final stage.

A total of 36 products of the state, including six related to agriculture, have been given GI tags. At the same time, a total of 420 products of India are registered under GI tag, out of which 128 products are related to agriculture.

The GI tag provides legal protection to an agricultural product found in a region. Unauthorised use of agricultural products can be curbed by GI tag as it increases the importance of agricultural products produced in a particular geographical area. GI tag is treated as a trademark in the international market. It promotes exports, as well as increases local income and by identifying specific agricultural products, it is easy to export and promote them in India as well as in the international market.

2.5 times hike in loans to MSMEs in Uttar Pradesh

UP chief secretary RK Tewari on Sunday said the loans disbursed to theMSMEunits in the state rose by 2.5 times in the past 4.5 years.

Inaugurating UP Pavilion India International Trade Fair-2021 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, Tewari said loan disbursment to MSME grew from Rs 28,136.00 crore in 2016-17 to Rs 73,765.00 crore loan in 2020-21.

He said that UP ranks first in the country in terms of establishment of MSME units. About 90 lakh units are registered in the state, which is 14.2% of the total registered units in the country.
He said an -friendly Environment has been created by the UP government while giving time bound approvals/licenses to the investorsnder the MSME Act-2020,investorshave been kept free from inspection of any department for 1,000 days by issuing acknowledgementcertificatewithin 72 hours.

After MP, UP to introduce MBBS textbooks in Hindi

After Madhya Pradesh,Yogi Adityanathgovernment inUttar Pradeshis set to introduceHindilanguage textbooks for MBBS courses in state medical colleges.
According to medical Education officials, the government has constituted a three-member committee that is reviewing MBBS textbooks on three subjects biochemistry, anatomy and medical physiology in Hindi, launched recently in MP as part of the National Education Policy 2020.

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority in the last four-and-a-half years has drawn record-breaking investment, largely owing to the investor-friendly policies rolled out by the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh.

The result can be seen in the fact that so far 391 big investors from across the country and from abroad have taken land to set up their factories in Greater Noida. These projects have raked in to the tune of Rs 26,530 crore.

Under this scheme, plots ranging from 450 square metres to 20 acres would be made available to the investors. Allotment will be done through interview or draw of lots in the first week of November on the applications received till October 31. With these allocations, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority is expected to rake in about Rs 800 crore and provide job opportunities to around 3,000 people.

The Uttar Pradesh government has mustered its resources to clean the environment, reduce the cost of agriculture, increase agricultural production and the income of farmers.

Under this project of the government, 21,142 farmers of 11 districts, located along river Ganga from Bijnor to Ballia, have formed 700 organic clusters in an area of 14,000 hectares. The farmers included in these clusters have grown various crops through organic methods under Kharif 2020 and Rabi 2020-21 seasons.

These products were displayed in the stalls of fairs, exhibitions and seminars organised at various occasions. Farmers have so far sold organic products worth Rs 2.76 crore from this project.

Buoyed by the success of this three-year project in its first year, the is going to start its second phase soon. Of the total project cost of Rs 71.40 crore, a sum of Rs 21.05 crore has been spent. It is worth mentioning that the state government, in order to double the income of the farmers, has created many facilities which include impetus to Organic Farming, switch to profitable crops and diversification in agricultural methods.
