Telangana inflation rate spirals to 9.45% in May, highest in India

Telanganaclocked the highest rate in May at 9.45% (both rural and urban) among all Indian states, even as the national inflation rate edged down to 7.04% in the same month from an 8-year high in April, as per data of Union ministry of statistics and programme implementation.
Experts say Telangana‘s inflation is on a spiral and if this trend continues for next six months, the state’s economy could be severely hit. Telangana is closely followed byMaharashtraat 8.52%, sister stateAndhra Pradeshat 8.49%, West Bengal at 8.27% andJharkhandat 7.52% in the month of May.

Accordingly, Telangana’s general consumer indices were also the highest in the country in May at 187.7 points.

Prices are calculated using 2012 prices as the baseline. The general consumer price index stood at 180.7 in May, three points up from 177.7 in April.

Digital survey of agricultural lands in Telangana

The government will launch a pilot of digital survey of agricultural lands in the State from June 11.

It will be conducted in three villages of Gajwel Assembly constituency represented by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and twenty four other villages in as many districts.

This was decided at an official meeting presided by Mr. Rao to discuss digitising agricultural lands and fixing coordinates with the aim to ensure permanent security of holdings for land owners. The survey will also eliminate land disputes.

Mr. Rao asked the surveying agencies to focus in the pilot project on villages where there were no disputes and then go on to villages where there was a combination of forest and government lands.

T achieves 100% institutional deliveries in 22

is the only state in the country to have 100 percent institutional deliveries for the year 2021-2022, as per the latest Health Management Information System (HMIS) report 2020-21 and 2021-22. Among union territories Lakshadweep has also achieved 100 percent institutional deliveries. Meanwhile states and union territories like Punjab, Sikkim,Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Dadar andNagar Haveliand Daman and Diu, Chandigarh, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa,PuducherryandTamil Nadu, all scored over 99 percent.

Include Covid-19 treatment in AarogyaSri in Telangana: Uttam Kumar Reddy

PradeshCongressCommittee president and Nalgonda MP NUttam Kumar Reddy alleged that hundreds of people were dying due to the failure of the TRS-government in extending adequate number of ambulances to take the patients to the hospitals.

Uttam said while other states have taken steps to provide free treatment to Covid-19 patients, Telangana government did not take sufficient steps to control the spread of the virus.
Though chief ministerK Chandrasekhar Raohad announced in the state assembly three months back that Covid-19 treatment would be included in Arogyasri scheme, his promise was not implemented till date, Uttam said.

Implement Telangana development model in Maharashtra, K Chandrasekhar Rao dares Devendra Fadnavis

chief ministerand Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday dared deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to implement his states model of farmer-centric development in Maharashtra.
Rao, popularly known as KCR, was addressing a rally at Loha in Nanded district, in a bid to expand his partys footprint in Maharashtra ahead of the local self-governing body, assembly and Lok Sabha Elections.

The BRS supremo demanded Rs10,000 per acre for Investment, 24-hour free electricity and water supply, and the setting up of procurement centres for farmers, as done in Telangana. KCR said he would not come to Maharashtra if Fadnavis takes these measures.

Telangana tops in digital governance with maximum e-transactions

leads the country in terms of e-transactions per 1,000 Population between June 2014 and January 2023. The state had the most e-transactions (1.58 lakh), followed by AP (1.41 lakh) andKerala(1.25 lakh), which are the only three states in the country with more than one lakh e-transactions per 1,000 people within the specified time frame.

The data from Telangana’s Socio Economic Outlook-2023 highlights e-Governance in the state and assumes significance in Light of external affairs ministerS Jaishankar’s recent remarks in Hyderabad on how India is important to the world because of its massive digital delivery capacity.

Officials said rising digital transactions reflect the availability of e-governance solutions in a state. Such solutions were initiated in this part of the country a long time ago. With many added Services and post-Covid-19, such transactions have increased, a senior official said.
Telangana has digital delivery services in over 45 departments, with Police using the service the most.

Telangana industries minister seeks Rs 14,000 crore for key projects

Ahead of the Union Budget, which is to be presented on February 1, industries ministerKT Rama Rao has written nearly half a dozen letters to Union finance ministerNirmala Sitharamanseeking budgetary support of over 14,000 crore for key industrial projects set to come up in Telangana.

These include the projects like Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Hyderabad-Warangal andHyderabad-Nagpurindustrial corridors as well as theHyderabad Pharma Cityproject that has bagged the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) status.
KTRhas urged the FM to sanction additional nodes at Mancherial (3,000 acres) under the Hyderabad-Nagpur corridor, Huzurabad as part of the Hyderabad-Vijayawada corridor and Jadcherla-Gadwal-Kothaguda node under the Hyderabad-Bengaluru corridor.

He has sought provision of 5,000 crore for these three nodes in the budget estimates for 2022-23, including 2,000 crore for Mancherial and 1,500 crore each for Huzurabad and Jadcherla-Gadwal-Kothaguda nodes.

Telangana sees 24% increase in GST collection over November last year

There was 24% year-over-year (YOY) increase inGST collectionin November forTelangana, rising from Rs 3,175 crore in 2020 to Rs 3,931 crore for the same month this year.

The state is third after Kerala (36%) and Karnataka (30%) among southern states in terms of Percentage rise in NovemberGSTcollection.
Overall, the state is ranked sixth along with Maharashtra (24%) for GST Growth this year over November 2020.

For , the YOY increase in October was 13% and for September it was 25%. The November GST results are also solid in the sense that they are close to crossing the Rs 4,000 crore barrier, a milestone that the state earlier touched in April for the first time since GST was implemented in the country in 2017.
Across the country, the revenues in November 2021 are 25% higher and 27% higher than in 2019-20. The trend in Telangana is also similar with a 24% increase.
Top YOY gainers in the country for November this year are Odisha (64 %), Kerala (36 %), Punjab (32 %), Karnataka (30%), Delhi (29 %) and Gujarat (26 %). In south, neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu saw a 10% gain.

Centre set to procure more parboiled rice

The Centre has approved procurement of another 6.80 lakh metric tonnes of fortified parboiled rice. This is in addition to 13.73 LMT that has already been approved for procurement forrabiseasons 2021-22 and 2022-23.

Rs 16,000 crore spent in past 8 years on municipalities, says KT Rama Rao

Claiming that government was according top priority for creation of Infrastructure in municipalities in the past few years, municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao said the government had spent 16,000 crore on developmental works in all the 141 municipalities in the last eight years.

He said the governmment was also giving priority for bringing reforms in the administration. “The Centre cannot afford to ignore the development ushered in by the State Government in towns and villages regardless of political affiliations.

The minister said that a comprehensive report will be distributed to all MLAs, MLCs and MPs during the next assembly session and municipal officers to let them know how the state government was trying to develop towns.
