Maya Kharangates 2016 novel Amrutvel has won the Award in KonkaniSahitya Akademi announced its Awards for literary works in 23 languages.

Kharangates Amrutvel sheds Light on the struggles of a widow in the pre-Liberation era in Goa. It is more about the sufferings of Women in a Hindu joint family. It is the struggle of the character, Sitabai, and how she raises her children after her husbands death, she said.

Besides highlighting the plight of widowed women, the novel also tells the story of other women of the family who participate in the freedom struggle.

The awards were also given to five other novels, seven poetry books, two short stories, three plays, two essays of literary criticism, a collection of articles, a literary HISTORY and an autobiographical essay. The award for literary work in Bengali will be announced on a later date.

India’s First International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC) was launched at Phoenix VK Tower in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad, Telangana.

It was inaugurated by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice NV Ramana and Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Internationally renowned arbitrators and mediators from countries such as Singapore and the United Kingdom are among those who have been appointed to the center.

In a major achievement, Hyderabad bagged the title of the Best Self-Sustaining City in the above 40 lakh Population category. This was announced in Swachh Survekshan2021 Awards list released by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).

Not just the Greater Hyderabad (GHMC), seven other Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) inTelangana, bagged prestigious Swachh Survekshan awards. The awards are a national recognition of cities efforts on different parameters of cleanliness.

The GHMC also bagged a spot as one of the Garbage Free Cities. It was given a three-star rank, under Star Rating Protocol of Garbage Free Cities. A total of 143 cities have been certified as threestar.

Telangana was also ranked second among states under Safaimitra Surkasha. Launched by the MoHUA, this category aims to recognise states that are trying to eradicate human fatalities from hazardous cleaning of sewers and septic tanks.

The first-of-its-kind study byNCERTon how robust the foundational Learning outcomes are in schools across the country has found that only 51% students inTelanganahave reached basic global proficiency standards, when it comes to numbers and numerical skills.

For instance, the survey that measured academic competency of third grade students, found only 44% students could read time and only 63% could read the date displayed on a calendar.

The study titled “Foundational Learning Study” analysed 349 schools with 3,313 students. The study assessed them on foundational Literacy in terms of three languages – ,Hindiand English and also looked at foundational numeracy.

Experts from various fields called for setting up of an action plan in the state for anti-microbial resistance (AMR). At a meeting organised by ReAct Asia Pacific a city-based AMR advocacy group on Monday, over 50 experts from Health, health, veterinary, Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture, pollution control and Environment sectors discussed the possible impact of AMR in health systems.

Antibiotic misuse, lack of clean water and sanitation, and inadequate infection prevention & control are major drivers of AMR in . There needs to be a multi-sectoral plan to contain AMR in the state, said Dr T Gangadhar, technical adviser to the Telangana government and professor at Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences.

It is also very important that different people working on ground both in human and animal health sectors routinely share data on AMR to address the issue at large, said Dr Anuj Sharma, Technical Office (AMR, Infection Prevention Control & Labs) at WHO country office for India.

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Sunday demanded that the rename government schemes after freedom fighters.

He sought to know from government how schemes implemented using public Money could be named after the chief minister and other politicians.

Schemes are named after the chief minister or his family members.Why are schemes not named after Potti Sriramulu, Prakasam Pantulu or other national leaders. Every scheme will be named after national leaders if Jana Sena comes to power, Pawan said.

Under the insurance scheme, if any Toddy tapper dies in an accident, the family will get Rs 5 lakh insurance like Rythu Bheema.

The chief minister said many toddy tappers are losing their lives accidentally falling from palm trees and the government wanted to come to the rescue of the families.

Telanganagovernment notified mucormycosis infection commonly known asblack fungusinfection as a notifiable disease under theEpidemic Diseases Act, 1897, a day afterRajasthandeclared it a notified disease.

Infact the decision comes close on the heels of the designating twohospitalsas nodal centres for treatment of the infection and on the same day when the centre has asked states to notify the disease.

Fungal infection mucormycosis is hereby declared as a notifiable disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897. All government and private Health facilities shall follow guidelines for screening, diagnosis and management of mucormycosis issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and theIndian Council of Medical Research. It is also made mandatory for all government and private health facilities to report all suspected and confirmed cases to the statehealth department.
