Govt set to hold investors summit in January 2022

As theindustriesdepartment is planning to hold roadshows in eight overseas markets for the proposed investors summit planned on January 20-21, 2022, Dubai is going to be a focus area.
The department is keen to attract investors to its newly launched Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Region (PCPIR) near the upcoming crude oil refinery. The investment region initially developed over 422 hectares and expected to attract $2 billion.

There are three PCPIR regions in country Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh andOdisha. Pachpadra would be the fourth PCPIR region if theCentreapproves it. But officials in RIICO said the ministry of petrochemicals and fertiliser has cleared the plan and the Union Cabinet would give the final approval.

The approval will allow the Centre to build necessary physical Infrastructure like Airports, highways, railways, telecom and other necessary facilities in a time bound manner.
Rajasthanwill be participating in the industrial expo on petrochemicals in November where the industries department will also hold a road show for highlighting investment opportunities in the sector in the PCPIR.

CM okays 14k Cr for works under eastern canal project

Chief ministerAshok Gehlot approved a financial proposal of Rs 14,200 crore for the construction of various works under the EasternRajasthanCanal Project (ERCP).

The proposal also includes increasing the height of theBisalpur damby 0.5 metre and to develop 202.42km long water transport system. Besides, the proposal involves augmentation of the water management system keeping in view the additional drinking water requirements of Jaipur, Ajmer, and Tonk districts till 2040 under the ERCP. It will also cater to the additional demand of 16.82 TMC drinking water for the remaining rural areas of Jaipur district.

ERCP has been launched to solve the problem of Irrigation and drinking water in 13 districts of Eastern Rajasthan.

1.9% trained apprentices from state

Only 41,836 (1.9% of the total) apprentices, out of 21.96 lakh in the country, have been enrolled inRajasthanfrom 2016-17 to January 30, 2023, as a part of the apprenticeship training under Apprentices Act, 1961, data from the ministry of Skill development and said.

In all, 10.94 lakh people have been trained in Rajasthan in these years, informed the minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, in a reply to an unstarred question inLok Sabhaon February 6.

As many as 15,191 people in Rajasthan have benefited from the Centres Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) between 2018-19 and 2022-23 up to February 1, 2023, as per the data. It is just 3.4% of the total ESDP beneficiaries in the whole country, which stands at 4.34 lakh, according to the data

Rajasthan panchayat polls: Over 11 lakh voters to decide fate of 617 candidates in 1st phase

Over 11 lakh voterswill decide the fate of 617 candidates as the for the posts of panchayat samiti and zila parishad members will be held in Baran, Kota, Ganganagar and Karauli districts.

State election commissioner P S Mehra informed that of the 11.05 lakh voters in these districts, 5.85 lakh are male, 5.20 lakh female and seven are third gender voters. In the first phase, elections will be held for 187 panchayat samiti wards across 1,434 polling booths, said Mehra.
The elections will be conducted in compliance with the Covid guidelines issued by the Centre, State Government and the state Election Commission.

Rajasthan: Nursery module for govt schools to keep pace with private institutions

The three years of pre-primary classes in schools would see modules on hygiene and healthcare, effective Communication and better understanding for children aged 3-6 years.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, theRajasthanState Council of Educational Research & Training,Udaipur, has designed the three-year curriculum for government schools to keep pace with private institutes.

The content is fully loaded with graphics, illustrations and texts with localised examples catering to children who are first-generation literates. The three-year content will lead to improved outcomes, including better Nutrition, Health and Education in both the short and long run.

The pre-primary curriculum designed by the SCERT is a balanced one and there is a need to train the teachers to handle the kids.

Rajasthan: MoUs inked with 11 Japanese firms for Rs 1,338 crore investment

Chief MinisterAshok Gehlotsaid that Japanese companies have prominently invested inRajasthanand such has been an inspiration for entrepreneurs in the state. He said theMoUssigned with 11 Japanese companies will bring an investment of Rs 1,338 crore, which will further strengthen the relationship between Japan and Rajasthan.

The CM said the framework of Japanese investment, Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) andFreight Corridorwas prepared during the Japan visit of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in 2005. The Japanese Zone at Neemrana is also a part of DMIC. He stated that DMIC projects will be set up at six places in the state.

More than 55% women have Jan Dhan Yojana accounts in Rajasthan

Rajasthan is one among the 11 states in the country where more than 55 per cent of the Pradhan MantriJan Dhan Yojana(PMJDY) account holders are Women, an RTI response has revealed.

In the state, 55.37 per cent (1.48 crore) of the total 2.68 crore PMJDY account holders are women, stated a reply to an RTI application filed by Venkatesh Nayak. Out of 43.47 crore PMJDY account holders in the country, 24.15 crore (55.55%) are women, according to the data.
Among the 29 states, Andhra Pradesh (AP) recorded the highest Percentage of women beneficiaries at 88.32 per cent. Meghalaya took the second position with more than 67 per cent PMJDY account holders being women, followed by Kerala at third position with more than 60 per cent PMJDY account holders being women in March 2020.

The states of Assam (59.48%), Nagaland (58.17%) Nadu (57.46%), Arunachal Pradesh (55.95%), Jharkhand (55.81%), Himachal Pradesh (55.76%), Bihar (55.66%) and Rajasthan (55.37%) recorded more than 55% women PMJDY account holders till March 2020.

Data also revealed that while all districts in Rajasthan were covered in the ministry of rural developments list, 1.98 lakh beneficiaries belonged to the unspecified district category, which means the the districts of residence of the women beneficiaries was not available. Rajasthan was also among the top five states with 1.48 crore beneficiaries in the country.

Rajasthan: GST amendment bill tabled on day 1, session ends on September 18

The assembly session that reconvened on 9th September will continue till September 18.
The decision was arrived at during the meeting of theBusiness Advisory Committee(BAC) chaired by the speakerCP Joshi.

The House was adjourned till Monday after four bills were tabled and obituary references made.

According to the sources, a total of 12 bills will be passed in the current assembly session including eight pending bills and the four bills tabled on day 1.

Chief minister AshokGehlothas laid the foundation stone forJai Meenish Tribal Universityin Kota. He also inauguratedTribal Girls Universityin Jaipur to mark the World Tribal Day to be observed.

The university will give an opportunity to youths to fulfil their dreams by studying in the higher Education institute. It will empower the communities by giving their youths a chance to reap the benefits of the development, said Gehlot. It is not clear that the university will start its academic year from the present year or next year.

Reiterating his commitment to girls education, he said that if any school has 500 girl students in class 11th and 12th it will be upgraded to a girls college. He informed that Kalibai Bhil Meritorious Girls Scooty Scheme has already been implemented for the meritorious girl students to promote education among the girls.

Prepare 25-yr master plan for every school: Min to officials

At a state-level review meeting of the department, Education minister BD Kalla, along with secretary and other senior officials, stressed on improving the quality of classroom education by increasing the presence of teachers and proper implementation of ban on passbooks in schools.
The minister said that expansion of the number of schools has been done in the state but now officials must ensure that teachers are available in schools and focus on makingRajasthana knowledge hub.

The minister instructed officials that every school in the state must prepare a 25-year master plan depending on the enrolment numbers. This should be a plan of overall development of the school with details of whatever development is needed in that particular school, he said.

Chief MinisterAshok Gehlotwants to make Rajasthan a knowledge centre and for this we must make qualitative changes and ensure that teachers are available in schools. Students cannot gain knowledge from passbooks or one-week series, they cannot become able enough to sit for state level, national level competitive exams.
