Covid: Manipur app to monitor home isolation patients

Manipur launched a mobile app for real-time monitoring of Covid-19 patients in Home isolation.

The objective of the Manipur Home Isolation Management (MHIM) mobile application was to avail real-time Health data of patients in home isolation for prompt response.

The MHIM app, launched by chief minister N. Biren Singh at the CM Secretariat in Imphal, will help patients upload their health status including pulse rate, SPo2, body temperature and blood pressure among others using fixed parameters at fixed intervals as set by the health department from time to time.

Meghalaya CM launches football academy in Shillong

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, launched the Dare to Dream Academy, a football development center at the SAI, centre, NEHU. The academy has been launched by Dream Foundation in collaboration with ASSAM RIFLES Public School, BBFS Residential Academy, Indian Football Foundation and Bhaichung Bhutia Football School. During the event CM Sangma stated that the northeast is a powerhouse of athletes and only needs the right nurturing, training and . The CM further stated, politicians, bureaucrats and even the Society at large sometimes fail to understand and realize the dreams and aspirations of the youth. The government is now making policies and programmes based on what the youth want and supporting them in Sports, music etc., he added.

Meghalaya assembly budget session to begin from March 20

Thebudgetsession of the newly electedMeghalayalegislative assembly will get underway on March 20 with the customary address by the governor under Article 176 of the Constitution, following which election to the post of the deputy speaker of the House would be held.

CM Conrad Sangma, who also holds the finance portfolio, is scheduled to reply to the debate on the governors address on March 21.

The newly formed Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA)-2.0 government headed by chief minister Conrad Kongkal Sangma would present the full budget estimates for the financial year 2023-2024 on March 23, according to assembly officials.

Mukhyamantri Chaa Srami Kalyan Prakalpa

The Tripura government announced a special scheme named Mukhyamantri Chaa Srami Kalyan Prakalpa.

The scheme aims to ensure the social security of around 7,000 Tripuras tea garden workers.

The tea garden workers will be provided housing, rations, and financial support, by clubbing the entitlements of the Tripura government and Union Government.

The Tripura government will spend Rs 85 crore for the implementation of the scheme.

Key components of the scheme

To provide land to tea garden workers for constructing a house.

To allot defunct tea garden land on a lease basis through Cooperative.

To provide priority group ration cards and social pension to all eligible families.

To provide Maternal and Child Health Care assistance and health Insurance.

To provide supportive appliances and assistive devices for persons with disability

To coordinate with managers of tea gardens for providing an eco-friendly Environment.

To provide basic facilities like drinking water, electricity, Education, and healthcare amenities to all households of tea garden workers.

Tea production in Tripura

Among 7,000 tea garden workers of Tripura, 75% are Women. Tea is being produced through 54 tea estates and 21 tea processing factories across Tripura. The tea production is mainly distributed in districts of Sepahijala, Unakoti, West Tripura, and North Tripura.

India moving on fast pace to develop rail connectivity in northeast

India is very keen to develop the of its north-eastern region and it is going that extra mile to fulfil it. To enhance the rail connectivity and Infrastructure Development in the North-eastern region of India, as many as 59 RAILWAY stations would be developed with world class facilities, Indias Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated recently. Vaishnaw informed that 15 stations each in all divisions of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) are to be developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

In the Union Budget 2023-24 presented by Union Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament last week allotted 2.4k lakh crore for the Development Of Railway infrastructure in the country. Indian Railways (IR) is on a mission to connect the northeast with the rest of the country, and keeping this as a priority Bairabi-Sairang Rail Line Project (51.38 km) is about to get completed.

30,000 poor in Tripura to get monthly pension of Rs 2,000

The has decided to launch a new scheme,CM Social Assistance, for the poor who are not enrolled in the social welfare plans of either the Centre or the State Government.

CM Manik Sahasaid the cabinet has agreed to provide as many as 30,000 new beneficiaries of this scheme a monthly allowance of Rs 2,000 from October. It has also given its nod to a 15% hike in the expenditure for the payment of salaries to Anganwadi workers, helpers and Asha workers from next month.

North East on Wheels Expedition

The ‘North East on Wheels Expedition’ has been created to promote Northeastern culture.

Highlights:

Meenakshi Lekhi, Ministry for Culture, has launched the ‘North East on Wheels Expedition’ in New Delhi to promote Northeastern culture.

This year’s Bike Expedition will take place from the 8th to the 16th of April to commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Seventy-Five bicyclists will be chosen from throughout the country to participate in this trip, which will traverse approximately 9000 kilometers in the North East Region in six groups.

The excursion will also showcase the Ministry of Tourism’s Dekho Apna Desh project. Riders will also spread the word about the significance of road safety.

The voyage will connect, among other things, some of the key spots associated with our country’s historic events.
