Govt health hubs in Maharashtra to offer high-end care

Super-speciality medical Services are being readied across state-run medical colleges and hospitals in Maharashtra, Health officials told TOI on Tuesday. The move aims to help the poor in urban and rural areas access high-end care like surgeries of the brain, urinary tract systems, heart or stomach.

The move will help get permanent super-speciality faculties at 24 government-run medical colleges and hospitals in the state.

Maharashtra to invest Rs 50 crore on solar fencing to reduce man-animal conflict

In a major move to curb increasing man-animal conflict, the has decided to give impetus to solar fencing to farms by spending Rs 50 crore by March-end. The project is expected to benefit at least 33,000 beneficiaries inMaharashtras Protected Areas in the first phase.

The PCCF informed the scheme is a part of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Jan Van Yojana under which an individual beneficiary will have to bear 25% (Rs 5,000) cost and above of the solar fencing, and 75% (Rs 15,000) whichever is less shall be borne by the forest department.

The scheme will be implemented through the active participation of joint forest management committees (JFMCs) and eco-development committees (EDCs).

Big boost for state, says CM Eknath Shinde; Maharashtra disappointment: Opposition

WhileCM Shindesaid budget rolled out an economic vision that would supportMaharashtra‘s efforts to become a $1 trillion economy, the opposition described it as disappointing, alleging there was no allocation of special funds for the state.

CM Shinde said substantial provision had been made for all sectors. “This is a budget which will support the poor, provide relief to the middle-class, boost industries and Infrastructure. It strikes a balance between urban and rural areas,” he added.

Maharashtra issues maximum BH-series number plates

Maharashtrahas recorded maximum registrations — around 34% — of the total BH (Bharat)-series number plates registered around the country, latest statistics showed.

While Maharashtra issued 1,017 BH-number plates since it launched in October end last year,Odishaissued 444, Delhi 382, Rajasthan 326 and Uttar Pradesh 229. The total number of number plates issued in the country were 2,960, the statistics showed.

Until now, according to the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, a vehicle registered in a state when kept in another state for a period of more than 12 months is subject to the assignment of new registration. The registration process which was tedious in nature, has now been done away with after the launch of BH-series.

Industries seek railways business development centre in Aurangabad

Ahead of the Union RAILWAY ministerAshwini Vaishnaws official visit toAurangabad, the local industries have demanded the setting up of the research and development (R&D) and business development centre of the national transporter in the city.

The government also plans to waive toll for warkaris (devotees) travelling to the temple town forAshadhi Ekadashi.

The annual Ekadashi celebration that is of great importance will be held coming Sunday and will see lakhs of warkaris converging to this temple town in Solapur district.

Release Rs 100 crore for MUTP-IIIA: Maharashtra govt to MMRDA

The directed Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to release Rs 100 crore for Mumbai Urban Transport Project-IIIA, and asked the railways to draw up a rehabilitation scheme for encroachers, on the lines of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), to expedite capacity augmentation projects.

Chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis took a review of projects executed by Mumbai RAILWAY Vikas Corporation (MRVC) – a 50:50 joint venture between the state government and railway ministry.

Maharashtra govt nod for town planning schemes in Uruli Devachi, Phursungi

The has approved two town planning (TP) schemes for Uruli Devachi andPhursungi. These are the first TP schemes after a gap of nearly 40 years in Pune.

They included two schemes in Phursungi and one in Uruli Devachi. One scheme has been approved for each area.

The approved scheme in Uruli Devachi is on 110 hectares and the other at Phursungi is on 261 hectares. The administration had carried out a survey and prepared a report. Suggestions and objections were sought from citizens and hearings were conducted.

Maharashtra govt gives Rs 15 crore to repair roads in rural Nashik

The work to repair thepotholesin the rural areas ofNashikdistrict has begun with the aim to make all the roads motorable by November 15.

The roads in the rural areas are in bad shape due to the heavy rainfall during the monsoon season. Senior officials from the department said the work related to filling potholes with the help of tar has picked up after the monsoon season.
